United Retriever Club

The United Retriever Club Championship Show  5th August 2026

Judge Dawn Youngson (Treeveville)

Bitches

I would like to thank United Retriever Club for the invitation to judge, held at Malvern ,such a lovely showground with the hills in the background.

I had a lovely quality entry of bitches ,thank you to all exhibitors for bringing them ,on a positive note I found no temperament problems in this beautiful breed, movement on the whole was good even though the ring was definitely not flat, however ,what I did find lacking in bitches in coat was a double coat, I know bitches have a short window to be shown and are sometimes shown going in and out of coat, but when in coat it should be dense with undercoat.Saying this I found what coat I was looking for in most of my winners.

Thrilled to see The Golden’s take Top Honours in The Best In Show Ring
