It is always a privilege to judge at a breed club show; this friendly, well-run show ran alongside the Hound Association of Scotland championship show which went well. There was a happy atmosphere and class winners were all applauded. Thank you to exhibitors for your entries on my first time awarding CCs to this variety.

Class 1. Veteran

1st Place 9 - Clentry Mickey Mania (Mr M & Mrs J Balfour), red bitch of just over 7 years of age, shown in lovely

condition, pleasing head shape and well positioned eye, has a good topline which she maintains on

the move, pleasing ribbing and tail carriage, moved soundly;

Class 2. Special Beginners

1st Place 19 - Milendo Dina (Mr J F Haggerty), black/tan bitch of just over 1 year, pleasing head shape and eye,

sound mover, although having a phantom was shown in good muscular condition, would prefer less

wrinkle on legs but felt she scored in ribbing over 2;

2nd Place 8 - Clentry Mango Passion ShCEx (Mr M & Mrs J Balfour), 4 years red bitch of overall pleasing outline,

shown in good condition, pleasing head and topline and tail carriage on the move, strong

hindquarters, not quite the front of 1;

Class 3. Minor Puppy Dog

1st Place 12 - Hampdach Sharp Dressed Man (Miss C L Bethel), black/tan of 11 months, thought he had a

beautiful head and eye, good neck, forechest and shoulder, well angulated hindquarters, good topline

held on the move where he is sound in all directions, has an air of confidence and a look of quality,

would just prefer him better ribbed back, convincing winner of BPIB;

2nd Place 37 - Altimarlach Diabhal Dubh (Mr I R & Mrs L Swanson), another pleasing puppy overall, black/tan of

10 months, liked his head shape and eye, has good bone and correct feet, good hindquarters which

enabled him to drive well, maintains his static outline in profile on the move, just preferred the

upper arm of 1, one with a super temperament;

1st Place 3 - Clentry Into The Fire (Miss L Andison), red just over 12 months, pleasing overall type and shape,

excellent topline, good ribbing and well angulated hindquarters, has good ground clearance and is

a sound mover in all directions, would just prefer less wrinkled legs;

Class 7. Limit Dog

1st Place 11 - Hampdach Lord Flashheart (Miss C L Bethel), black/tan similar in type to the puppy from the same kennel,

another with a very pleasing head, well made in front construction, good bone, topline and tail

carriage, very sound true mover where he maintains his static outline in profile, has good bone but

would just prefer better feet, still pressed hard for RCC;

2nd Place 6 - Rayol Dallas Cowboys at Jaxinorydax JW (Miss E Ashby), shaded red of 2.5 years, one who was

shown in great condition and musculature, pleasing head and eye shape, correct topline, nicely

ribbed back, pleasing hindquarters, preferred front construction of 1;

3rd Place 35 - Almaznyi Laretz Ershalaim at Devondax (Imp Rus) (Miss Kj Small)

Class 8. Open Dog

1st Place 29 - Ch Clentry Cooking Up A Storm (L McNaughton), this brindle yearling ticks lots of the boxes,

very well-balanced male overall who is the right shape and unexaggerated, well made all through with g

good eye shape, well made front with good shoulder and upper arm, correct bone and decent feet,

well ribbed body, correct topline, well angulated hindquarters with good first and second thigh,

moves true fore and aft and goes with a free, flowing stride in profile, maintaining his outline at all

times, shown in good muscular condition, has a good temperament and a element of mischief in his

demeanour which also appealed, pleasure to award him the CC and just pipped the bitch for BOB;

2nd Place 16 - Ch Marvale Chancellor at Ravold JW (Mrs S L A Graham mature 4 years old black/tan, masculine

without a hint of coarseness, shown in gleaming condition, his head and eye appealed, well made

front with good feet, excellent topline and hindquarters with good first and second thigh,

carries himself proudly in profile where he maintains his static outline, super solid temperament,

worthy winner of the RDCC;

3rd Place 22 - Ch Marvale’s Manifesto at Jenivon (Mrs J Jennings)

1st Place 36 - Altimarlach Beitidh Putans (Mr I R & Mrs L Swanson), red of 10 months with lovely temperament,

has good body and ribbing, pleasing topline, shown in lovely condition, pleasing head shape and

well boned, moves a little wide behind;

Class 11. Junior Bitch

1st Place 31 - Cwmdarhian Pina Colada (Mrs C & Mr C & Mrs R Mills-Jones & Moes & Williams), very pleasing

red of good type and overall outline, has a look of definite quality, lovely head shape and eye, has the

right balance and good ground clearance, well balanced all through, well made front assembly with

corresponding well made and angulated hindquarters, shown in lovely condition and musculature,

sound true mover maintaining her outline in profile, pushed hard in the challenge and surely

destined for the upper house;

2nd Place 23 - Melriding True Colours at Jenivon (Mrs J Jennings), black/tan who is a good type and nicely

made, good shoulder, forechest and upper arm, well ribbed, just preferred the topline and hind-

quarters of 1;

3rd Place 34 - Raajput's Dancer Divaa with Trisensara JW (Mr T & Mrs S Rycroft)

Class 12. Post Graduate Bitch

Entries: 6 Absentees: 0

1st Place 30 - Clentry Steal My Thunder (L Mcnaughton), red litter sister to the CC and BOB winner, very

pleasing bitch overall and a convincing winner of this class, pleasing head, well made in front,

well ribbed body, correctly made hindquarters with good first and second thigh, sound out and back

and carries herself well in profile;

2nd Place 10 - Clentry Steal The Limelight (Mr M & Mrs J Balfour), pleasing overall with decent head and eye,

adequate bone, decent ribbing, shown in good condition, scored in hindquarters over 3;

3rd Place 18 - Keijam Heather On The Hill (Mr J F Haggerty)

Class 13. Limit Bitch

1st Place 40 - Melisdax Memories of May (Mrs S E Tomlinson), this black/tan was shown in the most

wonderful condition, she was positively gleaming in condition, pleasing head and eye, well ribbed

with pleasing topline and well angulated hindquarters, super temperament, confident and regal when

going round in profile;

2nd Place 7 - Rayol Pumpkin Pie at Jaxinorydax (Miss E Ashby), shaded red of just under 3 years, another who

was shown in lovely condition, pleasing head and eye, pleasing ribbing, not quite the hindquarters

of 1 which showed on the move;

3rd Place 32 - Chidax Sahara Sand by Trisensara JW (Mr T & Mrs S Rycroft)

Class 14. Open Bitch

1st Place 20 - Ch Bronia Solar Flare (Mrs F Hanney-Mitchell), 4 years red of lovely size and overall outline,

comes into the ring with an air of quiet confidence and charm, pleasing head shape with correct eye

of the right colour, well made front, good shoulder and upper arm, good feet, excellent topline, very

well ribbed body, excellent first and second thigh, sound and true out and back and covers the ground

easily and freely in profile maintaining her lovely outline and topline at all times, such a happy

girl who radiates charm, she had real competition in 2 but it was her most superb condition and

musculature that edged her ahead, a great credit to her owner, she positively shone, CC;

2nd Place 2 - Clentry Forget Me Not (Miss L Andison), 3 years red who is a lovely type, scores in head and eye,

very well made front with well laid shoulder, correct upperarm and a good forechest, excellent

legs and feet, correct ribbing which leads to strong topline, very well angulated hindquarters, she is an

extremely good mover fore and aft and looks so good in profile where she covers the ground with

ease and shows good extension, she really did push 1 hard, will soon enter the upper house fore sure,

RBCC;

3rd Place 39 - Ch Melisdax Magnolia in May (Mrs S E Tomlinson), completed a good trio and another of lovely

temperament and excellent condition shown by this exhibitor;
