1ST - Germanus Leap of Faith (Mr R & Mrs A Geary) - A really smart looking boy with plenty of body and substance. Balanced head with a broad skull, strong jaw, good length of neck, well laid shoulder and good return of upper arm. This dog has ample bone and compact feet but the forelegs were unfortunately not straight and he is knuckling over at the knee. I would hope this is just a growth issue and not a conformation one. Deep chest with well sprung ribs, strong loin and a slight slope to the topline. Good turn of stifle and good expanse of second thigh. Moves well in profile but really needs to strengthen out and back as he is very uncoordinated at the moment. BPD

1ST - Urvum Hero at Beanalrem (Imp Ita) (Miss H & Mrs J & Mr B Vine & Hassell & Nash) – Lighter framed male and a genuinely honest, well put together dog. Nothing overdone at all, balanced head with a broad skull which was well furnished, muscular neck which ran smoothly into his well laid shoulders, elbows close to the body and good return of the upper arm, straight forelegs and compact feet, good tuck up to the loin and powerful hindquarters. Moves really well out and back and has enough reach and drive. Just didn’t up his game in the challenge and was a little uncooperative with his handler.

1ST - Glenquin Major at Yohenoak (Mr & Mrs S Robson) – Rather upstanding dog of substantial bone and substance, however, he is still balanced and in proportion. Masculine head with a good beard, strong through the neck, a really well constructed front, well filled forechest and deep brisket, well ribbed but would like to see a better tuck up to the loin. Powerful and muscular hindquarters with a well bent stifle. He moves really soundly and has ground covering side profile movement, however his outline is marred by his tail which he carries very high over his back. Ideally for me, I would like to just scale his whole frame down a touch as this should be a medium sized breed and he pushes that to the limit. RBD
2ND - Germanus Makin A Point (ai) (Mrs S & Mr A Jones) – The two dogs in this class were absolute chalk and cheese. This boy was a much finer and more moderate example, lighter framed with less bone and not the substance of 1. I would like a more masculine head with a broader skull, he has a strong enough neck, front construction could be better, deep chest and a lovely flowing underline with a slight tuck up to the loin, moderate turn of stifle and stands on compact round feet.
Didn’t really get into his stride on the move as sadly was pacing, but occasionally he did break into a trot and moved sufficiently.

1ST - Sh Ch/bel Ch Glenquin The General (Mr P, Mrs L & Miss N Johnston) – Another male who is well up to size and I wouldn’t want any more of him. He is eyecatching and is a pleasing dog to go over. He has a good coat under which is a well constructed dog, head is well shaped with a moderate stop and dark oval eyes, powerful neck into well laid shoulders and a good return to the upper arm, slight spring to the pastern, close elbows, deep ribs, slight tuck up, strong through the loin and a powerful hind with a well turned stifle. Sound out and back and good ground covering side profile action. I would like to see the tail carried lower to complete the picture and just scale him down a touch but nonetheless a really pleasing example. BD

1ST - Germanus Gotta Have Faith (Mr R & Mrs A Geary) – Litter sister to the puppy dog winner and I really liked this girl a lot. Raw baby of just 6 months but I think she could be something quite special as she matures. Everything is just as you would want it at this stage, she has good bone and compact feet, her head is feminine and in proportion, strong jaws and a slight stop, eye could be a shade darker, super front construction, close elbows and deep ribs, well muscled thighs and well bent stifles. When she settles, she is very sound out and back and shows super reach and drive in profile, holding her shape. She is a real challenge to handle but worth persevering with. BPIB

1ST - Caldewriver Tiger Lilly via Mustwork (Mr L A & Mrs L J Jones) – Eyecatching elegant girl who scores highly for her overall shape, size and balance. Good head shape with a broad slightly rounded skull, clean neck which flows into her well constructed front, well filled forechest and deep brisket, ribs set well back and a lovely underline slightly rising to the loin, well turned stifle with a good expanse of second thigh. She does move particularly well showing soundness and ample reach and drive, but occasionally in profile she was tense in her topline which in turn affected the outline.

1ST - Germanus Dutch Delight (Mrs S & Mr A Jones) – Feminine looking girl built on a lighter frame. Her head is balanced with a kind expression, is in proportion and well furnished. Good front fill and deep brisket, I would like to see more angulation front and rear as everything is just a touch too moderate for me, not the underline I was looking for and she does lack strength through the topline and her rear. Moves ok out and back but would have liked to have seen more reach and drive in profile.
2ND - Rudishaw Waltzing Matilda (Miss B Kearns) – I felt rather frustrated with this girl as overall I preferred her construction to 1 but when moving she just didn’t get into her stride and paced the whole time, so I couldn’t assess her movement. She has a pleasing head, well furnished, clean neck, a little steep through the front, good forechest and deep ribs, compact feet and slight spring to the pastern. Ribs set well back, good turn of stifle and is straight when viewed from the front and the rear. I just wish she had moved with a correct stride.

1ST - Tynsil Just One Smile (Miss B & Mr R Stamp & Thomas) – Pleasing outline to this girl and everything is in proportion. Feminine head with an alert expression, well set ears, clean neck and a well constructed front, well boned and stands on compact, round feet and has a slight spring to the pasterns. Just enough length to the ribcage and a flowing tuckup, strong through the loin and enough turn to her stifle. Excellent coat and condition. A little weak when moving towards you but very good away, side profile can just be a little lazy but every now and again you see just how well she can move.

1ST - Sh Ch Caldewriver Storm N' Teacup for Katillien JW (Miss K A O'brien) – Well, what’s not to like about this elegant girl. Perfect sized bitch with ideal bone and shown in good body and coat. Her head is a real set piece, balanced with a strong jaw, broad skull and a slight stop, perfect bushy eyebrows and beard, long and powerful neck and when you go over her, your hands flow down the neck to her smooth shoulders. Her upper arm sits under her body giving support and the elbows are well tucked in. Deep ribs which run well back and a beautiful flowing underline with a slight tuck up to the loin. Muscular hind with a good turn of stifle and she stands on the best of feet. So sound and balanced on the move, never losing her shape, I couldn’t fault her footfall. A super example of the breed. 1ST - Sh Ch/bel Ch Glenquin Athena (Mr P, Mrs L & Miss N Johnston) – Another lovely example of the breed, scores for size and overall shape and balance. Smart head which is balanced and in proportion, oval eye with an alert expression, her general construction is good with a good lay of shoulder, slight slope to the topline, deep brisket, enough bone and compact feet, would like a touch more spring to the pastern and for her forelegs to be a touch straighter, powerful hind and in hard muscular condition. Faultless side profile but could just be slightly tidier out and back. A real credit to her owner as you would never know she was a veteran. RBB & BVIB
