Sincere thanks to the Committee of Manchester Dog Show Society for the invitation to judge this delightful breed, and thank you to my very efficient stewards for running the ring so well.

A big thank you to all the exhibitors who entered and I really appreciated the way in which you received by decisions.

The presentation of the dogs was superb, I only found two suspicious mouths, nails were short and the majority of dogs had the long silky coat specific to this breed.

1st: 2219 SZAL, Mrs Beverley Goldbirch Northern Jazz, I liked the overall balance to this boy. Well proportion head with a bright and expressive expression, set on to a slightly arched neck. Good front and rear angulation, ribs well sprung. Coat texture is very good. Moved positively with good footfall. BEST SB

2nd: 2212 STEAD, Miss R & STEAD, Ms K Ravensett Illusionist Of Settavista, Balanced masculine head showing a moderately deep and square muzzle, a soft eye and expression. Strong neck, pleasing top line, but does tend to lose it on the move. Moved well, showing rear drive.

1st: 2185 HOWARTH, Mrs Jane & HOWARTH, Mr David Samelen Enchanto At Moorbrook, This quality puppy made sure his handler worked hard for this place, and certainly made me laugh with his antics! Nevertheless he warranted first place as he is a handsome boy with the depth and squareness of muzzle required and a bright and alert eye. Muscular neck leading to correct shoulders & straight front. Good depth to chest and well ribbed back. Correct hind angulation which gives him drive on the move when he decided to get his act together…. Such a happy boy

2nd: 2215 STEPHENSON, Mrs Jakki Bondgate Midnight Drama, Not quite as together as first, but plenty of promise for the future. Enough depth to chest and strong quarters, pleasing head with lovely kind expression, presented in good condition. Moved steadily

1st: 2223 THACKER, Ms K & THACKER, Mrs Kathryn Peritye Follow The Sun, What a lovely head this boy has – the kindest of eyes. Beautifully balanced with nothing overdone. Well laid shoulders and good depth to chest with pronounced pro-sternum. Shown in great condition. On the move he was balanced and kept his topline at all times, he covered the ground effortlessly showing reach & drive. BPIB

2nd: 2193 MCDOWELL, Mr & Mrs A Byedales Inspector Clueso, Well-made young man and obviously ‘ fit for function’, pleasing length to height proportions giving the shape required. balanced head and an expressive eye. Moved steadily with good footfall..

1st: 2221 TAYLOR, Miss Toni Ann Kanietter Goldmandine Of Tattay, Super head, excellent bright expression, loved his overall balance. Strong bone, tight feet, in super coat and so well-muscled. On the move he reaches out well and drives from behind, with a lively wagging tail.

2nd: 2235 WILSON, Mrs Jane Sharnyx Reyncloud At Lucanix, Well made all through. Correct forehand construction. Well ribbed back leading through to correctly set tail and strong hindquarters. Good bone and feet. Moved well both fore and aft and displayed good profile movement, just preferred the head and tail usage of the first.

1st: 2199 PEARSON, Mr & Mrs Jayne Laura Bournehouse Augustus At Yessandi JW, Lovely size and shape to this boy. Well balanced head with the best of eyes and such a soft expression, super pigmentation. Excellent muscular condition. Moved steadily.

2nd: 2169 ARKLEY, Miss Lindsey & ARKLEY, Mr Peter Tattersett Blue Lord JW, Pleasing head. Beautifully balanced throughout. Well tucked in elbows, strong bone with tidy feet. Well sprung ribs with plenty of heart room. Level topline. Just needs to get his act together on the move.

2nd: 2179 FISHER, Mrs Georgina Ottielie & WITHEY, Mrs Mauree Severnsett Black Prince, Pleasing head with a kind eye. Nicely balanced all through. Clean outline showing a firm topline. Well-made hindquarters. On the move his footfall is good but he is rather proud of his tail.

3rd: 2224 VALLANCE, Ms M A Ennydloc Yorkshire Liaison To Rowanmyle.

1st: 2176 DARLEY, Mrs Phoebe & DARLEY, Mr N A Severnsett Gold Sovereign, Well made all through. Correct forehand construction. Well ribbed back leading through to correctly set tail, which never stopped wagging, and strong hindquarters. Good bone and feet. Moved well both fore and aft and displayed good profile movement. In fabulous coat and so well presented.

2nd: 2195 OSMAN, Mrs M Bournehouse Sirocco Over Marissolo JW, Presented a good outline with correct length of neck, Well sprung ribbing, strong loin and well set tail. Masculine head and soft expression. Moved steadily but I would like a bit more drive.

Class 858 OD (3 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: 2208 SEAMAN, Mrs B K Sh Ch Mariglen Just George Striking boy - He has the most beautiful clean cut head, and bright but soft expression from well-shaped eyes. Strong neck leading to well- placed shoulders and he scores highly in forechest and depth of chest. Ribbed well back with strong loin, good turn of stifle and well- muscled in rear. He has excellent reach fore and aft and flows effortlessly around the ring. In super coat condition and well- presented and handled. DCC

2nd: 2226 WATTS, Mrs Dilys Sh Ch Walshaw Brushstrokes, Quality boy. Balanced outline Correct in head with expressive eyes, leading into a strong neck and well-placed shoulders. Lovely tight feet. Well balanced throughout with good breed type. Moved with reach and drive both fore and aft with the free gait the breed requires. In fabulous coat and muscle condition. DRCC

Class 859 VD (3 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: 2234 WILSON, Mrs Jane Ir Sh Ch Ravensett Giovanni, Nice head shape and good proportions with a kind eye. There was substance to this boy without being too heavy. Strong breast bone with good length of ribbing. Moderately angled in the rear, with the correct level of muscle. Moved well. He has a super silky coat. BVIB

2nd: 2190 LAWSON, Mrs L A Wansleydale Dorian Gray JW ShCEx OSW, Not moving quite as positively as first, but he presents a balanced outline. Level topline and well ribbed back. Well-muscled hindquarters. Well balanced head with the best of eyes and such a soft expression.

1st: 2198 PARRISH, Mrs S T Tawnymeade Moonflower, This girl possesses a well- balanced head. Good reach of neck, well laid shoulders. Correct topline and good tail set. Moved very soundly once she got in to her stride and settled.

2nd: 2211 STEAD, Miss R & STEAD, Ms K Bondgate Miss Melodramatic Of Settavista, Good height to length ratio to this feminine bitch. Pretty head, bright eye. Well sprung rib with short loin and level topline. Moved steadily.

3rd: 2187 KEMP-TAYLOR, Mrs Helen Quensha's Strawberry Swing

1st: 2171 ATYEO, Ms J & TAYLOR, Mr A Samelen Ethereal Legacy, Well balanced all through presenting a typy picture. Head shape is good with depth to muzzle and squarish finish. Well laid shoulder with corresponding return of upper arm. Well sprung ribcage. Short loin. Well-made hindquarters. Moved well with good tail action. I will look forward to seeing how she matures.

1st: 2192 MCDOWELL, Mr & Mrs A Byedales Agatha Christie, Up to size but has balance. Head well proportioned. Clean neck and good lay of shoulder. Has some depth of chest but hope she develops more. Well ribbed back. Strong hindquarters with moderate bend of stifle. Moved with true action and with verve using her tail well.

2nd: 2204 REID, Mr I & Mrs K Diersett Moon Of The Skies, Feminine head with a kind eye. Very well balanced all through. Clean outline with level topline and well-set tail. Well-made hindquarters. Stands square all round. Moved steadily fore and aft and in profile.

Well ribbed back leading through to correctly set tail and strong hindquarters. Good bone and feet. Moved well when she settled, and she displayed good open side gait when viewed in profile.

2nd: 2229 WELBURN, Mrs Nicola Jane & WELBURN, Mr Paul Oshowa Just A Dream JW, . Lovely youngster who still needs time to fulfil her potential. Balanced head with the softest of expressions. Good arch to the neck and a good depth of chest, ribbed back to the correct point. On the move she is so happy.

1st: 2228 WELBURN, Mrs Nicola Jane & WELBURN, Mr Paul Oshowa Love To Dream JW, Headed this class due to her overall balance, and true movement. Pretty girl with the softest expression and clean cut planes. Moved strongly and with great purpose and a lively, slashing tail.

2nd: 2187 KEMP-TAYLOR, Mrs Helen Quensha's Strawberry Swing, Well balanced with a decent head. Presents a balanced outline. Level topline and well ribbed back. Well-made hindquarters. Super profile movement.

Class 866 LB (13 Entries) Abs: 3

1st: 2222 TAYLOR, Mrs L Wansleydale Honey Bee JW, this girl has so much femininity, elegance and quality. She has a beautiful head with just the right amount of stop, moderately deep in muzzle with a square finish. Bright and expressive oval shaped eye. True in front and excellent depth to brisket. Ribbed well back with a short firm loin and well- muscled rear. She has excellent free movement, great reach fore and aft and flows effortlessly around the ring with panache with a never ending wagging tail carried perfectly. Put down in excellent condition and handled empathetically. I just loved her !! BCC & BOB.

2nd: 2232 WILLIAMS, Mrs P D A Bournehouse Satin And Lace, This girl presents a well-balanced outline with strong neck, firm topline, deep brisket, well ribbed back, short well developed loin and tail of good set. Pleasing head with a soft expression, good planes, medium stop and a kind expression. Moved out well when viewed coming and going and in profile.

Strong neck leading to well- placed shoulders and she scores highly in forechest and depth of chest. Ribbed well back with strong loin, good turn of stifle and well- muscled in rear. On the move she is sound and true but just tends to drop her head. BRCC
