Old English Sheepdogs

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the officers and committee for their kind invitation to judge OES at their show and to all the exhibitors who entered under me. Thank you to my stewards who kept the ring running smoothly in a timely manner.

I was pleased with the overall quality and presentation of the dogs. Eye colour has improved since my last appointment but we are still seeing weak hind movement in a few exhibits and one or two with loaded shoulders affecting front movement.

 1. Wade’s Old Dream’s Higher Love. 7 months and full of fun! A new exhibitor to the ring but with a little practice and patience this young man will settle down. Skull and muzzle developing well, scissor bite and strong under jaw. Square profile with correct angulation, a gentle rising topline. Coat changing well for his age. His moved steadily as he settled.

 2. Pullen’s Meadowbears Master of Magic. 10 months with good head proportions, wall eye with good pigment, correct bite. A little longer in loin, coat correct for age. Needs to strengthen as moved a little close behind.

JD (3,1)

1. Reeves’ Charmlea Starblazer. At only 13 months this young man catches your eye. Strong, square and compact, well off for bone and muscle, deep brisket with well sprung ribs. Capacious skull with dark eyes, good stop, scissor bite and square muzzle. Straight front, gracefully arched neck into neat shoulders. Well presented both standing and on the move, I’m sure he has a promising future ahead.

2. Pullen’s Meadowbears Master of Magic.

1. Mills’ Ch Kerjalee Evan Sent. This young man has done so well in the show ring and I can see why! An upstanding male with a lovely facial expression and presented so well. Thick set, strong, square dog, with plenty of bone and well muscled hindquarters. Large capacious square skull, strong muzzle, large black nose, dark eyes and well defined stop. 1. Adams’ Shaggybo Midnight Jasmine. 6 month pretty baby. Good head properties, developing well. Nice length of neck into neat lay of shoulder, good angulation front and rear and gentle rising topline. Her coat is correct for her age and just starting to change. She moved well for her handler and I was delighted to award her BP.

JB (2,1)

1. Howsam’s & Huggan’s Jandoes Got to be Rosie. 16 months. A quality young lady standing square in profile with a most appealing expression. Pear shaped when viewed from above and has a harsh quality junior coat. Strong but feminine head, dark pigmented eyes, correct bite, good stop and broad muzzle. Gracefully arched neck and correct lay of shoulder. Nice rise to her loin and good angulation. Was rather lively on the move in her class but I was pleased she settled in the challenge and moved with reach and drive to be awarded the RCC. I’m sure she has a promising future.
