Thank you to the Committee for inviting me to take over Neil Straw’s appointment, which arose out of very sad circumstances. I’m sure Neil would have enjoyed giving his first set of Tickets in the Breed at this show & have appreciated his entry.

The quality of the Bitches was extremely high, coat & condition being the deciding factor in some classes. I found no bad mouths; no light eyes & tail carriage was as it should be. Temperament was wonderful, presentation was excellent & my hands were spotless when I’d finished. Thank you to all exhibitors, I really enjoyed my day.

Almost 9 yr old attractive pale bitch, shown in full coat, hard to believe she is a Veteran. Beautiful head & expression, good pigment, excellent forehand construction, straight forelegs & well angled rear quarters, well let down hocks with neat feet. On the move she covers the ground well with good driving action, moving off powerful hocks & holding her topline. Very well presented & handled. BVB‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‍‍ ‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‍‍ ‍‍‍‍‍‍

2 Robbins & Rowark Quakerhall Lady Bountiful By Brekswood JW VW

Very pretty 8 yr old, mid-gold girl with so much to admire, another who could easily give the youngsters a run for their money. Super head with a gentle expression and dark eye. Very well balanced in profile, good body depth, short coupled, and consistently maintains a level topline. Strong over the loin, good breadth of thigh, and a correct tail set. Just pipped for first place by the more free flowing movement of the winner. Beautifully presented and clearly at one with her handler.‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‍‍ ‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‍‍ ‍‍‍‍‍‍

Very feminine 8 month old youngster, with an exquisite head and dark, expressive eye. Loved her overall balance, excellent shoulder layback and return of upper arm. Level topline, short-coupled, with rear angulation that perfectly complements her front. Shown in full and immaculately presented pale, wavy coat, which is always the icing on the cake. Moved with ease, covering the ground with good reach and drive, and pushed strongly for first place in the following class, where she was unlucky to meet another lovely puppy bitch in cracking top form.‍ ‍‍ ‍‍‍‍‍‍

This 9 month old puppy, shown in full coat, had everything in her favour today. Beautifully presented and standing four square whenever I looked at her, she just had to take top spot in excellent company. Pretty, feminine head with dark eye, gentle expression, and good pigment. Balanced profile, with excellent shoulder layback, straight forelegs set well beneath her, and neat, cat-like feet. Dead-level topline, short-coupled, with rear angulation which mirrors her front assembly. Carrying just the right amount of bone for her frame, she moved with her tail & topline held level and covered the ring with accuracy and drive. I was delighted to award her BPB, and even more thrilled to see her go on to take BPIS at the end of the day.‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‍‍ ‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‍‍ ‍ ‍‍

Another very pretty girl heading a class of quality youngsters, narrowly beating another bitch whom I also really liked. Shown in full, beautifully presented pale coat, with a compact, well-balanced outline & good feet. Dark, kind eye and expression, good pigment. Neck well set on, good shoulder layback, neat feet and a dead-level topline. Ample heart room, a good spring of rib for a youngster, strong over the loin, and excellent breadth of thigh. Movement reflected her sound conformation, being accurate and ground-covering, with plenty of drive from the rear.‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‍‍ ‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‍‍ ‍‍‍‍‍‍

Very close up to my winner, and as the saying goes, I was splitting hairs, the slightly more enthusiastic movement of the winner being the deciding factor. I’m sure both girls would change places on another day. Pale, very feminine youngster, shown in well-presented coat. Most attractive head and expression, good reach of neck, excellent shoulder layback, strong, level topline, and textbook rear angulation. Good bone and very neat feet. Moved steadily and accurately, she was also expertly handled.

Mid-gold bitch of larger frame heading another strong class, full of quality. Plenty of substance without any loss of femininity, super head, deep muzzle, dark eye, and the kindest of expressions. Straight forelegs, excellent cat-like feet & both front & rear angulation perfectly complement each other. Shown free-standing, she consistently maintained natural balance. On the move she really caught my eye, holding her topline & driving confidently & accurately around the large ring. ‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‍‍ ‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‍‍

2 Porter Shearstone Hasta La Vista JW

Such a happy young lady, full of character, presented in excellent condition & shown in profuse gold coat. Ultra feminine, lovely dark eye and good pigment, giving her a most appealing expression. Construction is sound, with excellent front assembly, level topline, strength over the loin, and good rear angulation, all complemented by correct tail carriage. Exuberant on the move, she covered the ground with ease & was at one with her handler.

Impressive pale girl with a very balanced outline. In the strong junior entry, she was placed third and I had no hesitation in awarding her first place in both this and the following class. Pretty head, good length of neck, flowing into correct shoulder angulation. Straight forelegs, good bone, and neat feet, good body proportions with short couplings, unexaggerated rear angulation & strong hocks. Sympathetically handled throughout, she was a delight to watch on the move, covering the ring confidently, with front reach & rear drive.‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‍‍ ‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‍‍ ‍‍‍‍‍‍

Lovely example of her breed type, another top-quality youngster, with nothing exaggerated or overdone. Shown in excellent condition, well-constructed mid-gold bitch, attractive head, kind eye of good shape & dark pigment. Good reach of neck flowing into correct shoulder placement & upper arm. Strong, level topline & rear quarters which match her front assembly. Immaculately presented in full coat, she moved soundly and accurately both coming and going, holding her tail dead level with her back. Very well handled. ‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‍‍ ‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‍‍ ‍‍ ‍‍ ‍‍‍‍‍

Very smart bitch with well-shaped head & expressive, dark eye, good reach of neck into correct layback of shoulder & return of upper arm, straight forelegs, Strong, level topline, plenty of heart room, good rib length & strong muscle tone to her nicely angulated rear quarters. Freestanding, she looked a picture & was very true on the move both coming & going. ‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‍‍ ‍‍‍

Pretty, elegant, pale girl with the gentlest expression & shown free standing. Feminine, balanced head with dark eye. Reachy neck into correct shoulder layback & return of upper arm, good body depth, slightly longer in the loin than my winner. Angulation of rear quarters mirrors her front assembly. Level top line with tail carried straight off her back. She moved very well in this class & presentation was excellent.

This very pretty bitch is so well balanced, looked stunning in her class & just never put a foot wrong later in the challenge. She is full of breed quality & has such a clean outline. Feminine head, with gentle, dark, expressive eye, good length of neck into well laid-back shoulders & corresponding return of upper arm. Deep through the chest, dead level topline into correct tail set & correctly angulated rear quarters, standing on good bone & neat feet. She moved out well with level tail carriage & enthusiasm throughout the long day. Presented & handled to perfection, I couldn’t take my eyes off her, she is a really lovely example of the breed. I had no hesitation in awarding her top spot, with her 1st CC, in this quality entry of bitches & I was delighted when she took RBIS on the referee’s decision, BCC & BOS.

Quality pale bitch shown in beautiful coat & condition. Feminine head & expression enhanced by a dark eye & good pigment. Well balanced in profile with correct angulation both front & rear, level topline, excellent body depth & correct tail set. She has good bone & neat feet. Totally at one with her handler, she covered the ground well, moving accurately with plenty of drive from the rear.

Another quality, pale bitch from this Kennel, so well handled & shown in beautiful condition. Melting expression enhanced by dark pigment, really good reach of neck & shoulder placement. She has good bone with straight forelegs & tight feet. She has well sprung ribs, a firm topline, held perfectly on the move, leading to correct tail set. Movement was steady & true both coming & going, with well-placed footfall & driving movement from the rear. She was a serious contender for higher honours.

Quality bitch with feminine head with lovely soft expression & kind, intelligent eyes. Good reach of neck flowing smoothly into a well laid shoulder, with deep well sprung ribs, firm couplings and good rear angulation giving her a balanced and harmonious outline. She was carrying just the right amount of weight & held her level topline on the move. Another one who covered the ring very well & was handled to advantage.

Lovely bitch, very gentle head & expressive eyes. Excellent reach of neck & shoulder layback, good body depth, level topline & short couplings with rear angles complementing her forehand. Quietly handled & well presented in pretty, wavy mid gold coat I thought she was a delightful example of the breed. Movement was steady & true with plenty of drive.

2 Falconer Soneve Simply Special For Siatham JW

I was really splitting hairs between these two well-constructed bitches. Pale girl, ultra feminine, sweet head & expression, good neck length, good body shape & depth, standing on straight forelegs and good feet. Movement was confident, accurate & had good rear drive. It was really lovely to see her tail never stopped wagging! Beautifully presented & so well handled. Slightly preferred the overall balance of one.

Impressive in profile, with so much ring presence & shown in lovely coat, this well-made mid gold girl has a kind head, dark eye & melting expression, straight forelegs, liked her length of neck flowing into good forehand construction. Ribs well sprung, strong over the loin, good muscle tone to rear quarters. Another who moved so well in the indoor ring, showing plenty of reach & drive holding her topline. She was handled & presented impeccably. Pleased to award her a well-deserved RBCC.

What an appealing rich gold young lady. Loved her head & expression & dark pigment. Good reach of neck set on correct layback of shoulder & upper arm, straight front & excellent bone. Level topline & good ribcage. Shown in hard condition, rear quarters are powerful & well-muscled with good breadth of thigh & well let down hocks. Immaculately presented in full wavy coat she moved very well coming & going. Every dog from this kennel today had excellent feet & was presented & handled to perfection, they are a credit to the owner.

Very smart and stylish gold bitch with plenty of substance. Well presented in full coat. Good spring of rib, rear angles perfectly mirror forehand construction. Her handler really got the best out of her, she covered the ground easily and with style, tail carried straight off her back. Her movement was free & sound both coming & going.
