Scottish Kennel Club , General Ch. Show, Cocker Spaniels (bitches)
I looked forward to this appointment as I have many fond memories of Scotland, its Cockers, and the people who set the standards high so that Scottish Cockers became world renowned and much sought after, even gaining the term “Scottish type” especially in the parti colours. I can confirm that there are still high quality cockers and reassuringly many in Scotland. I was happy to judge dogs that although didn’t get the green cards demonstrated true cocker type and movement with a look of extreme quality.
My co judge Sue Shinkfield and I reached our decisions amicably and it was a pleasure to judge with a passionate devotee of the breed.

1.Scotlands Lynwater Bramble Blossom , O/R baby of 10 mths who not only has a delightful and well chosen name but is every inch an example of the type that made the breed so popular, she has a captivating expression well shaped head and low set ears, she flows from her slightly arched neck through her front and shoulders that are text book, well developed ribs ,short coupled and that well rounded rear with short rear pasterns , she is so well balanced and sound displaying a perfect topline and tail set, what a star to start the day with? 1.Juan Membrado’s Corralet Queren Hapuc 13 mths Black with a typical outline , she has such a gentle expression and was a happy show girl, lovely clean neck and shoulders, good ribs and topline and powerful quarters , was a little unsettled and full of herself but that is a useful trait in a show dog.I thought she was stylish and sound on the move when settled , perfect topline and tail set and carriage, her flat coat shone with condition ,just needs to mature in body to finish the picture.
2.Todd’s Chataway Vera a cobby 13 mth black with well developed ribs ,she has a delightfully shaped head with squared muzzle ,low set leathers well laid back shoulders and a powerful rounded rear, merry and sound.
