Bath Championship Dog show.

 Day 1. 6-11 years. Entries (6) Abs(5)

1st Evelynn Stewart handling a papillon, they made such a beautiful pair in the ring, a very calm handler and nothing was over done , dressed perfectly for the ring, great rapport a harmonious and trusting relationship with her dog, beautiful lines and tidy turns, great future ahead for her.

12-16 years. Entries (3) Abs (1)

1st Isabella Carter handling a Parson Russell Terrier, apparently this was the first time she had handled this dog but you wouldn't have guessed it, great rapport on the loose lead exercise,  great turns, sharp lines, smartly presented,  but.... you need to keep your brush off the table!

2nd Leigh Chadwick handling a cavalier, great loose lead exercise,  nice lines, tidy corners, perfect bite/teeth exercise,  just got in the way as I tried to compare the dogs heads.

Day 2. 6-11 years Entries (2) Abs (2).

12- 16 years Entries (7) Abs (1)

1st. Lillie Betty handling a GSP, incredibly smart and professional, great feet placement, nothing overdone,  correct bite/teeth exercise, nice rapport. 2nd Charlotte Robertshaw handling a retriever only a split hair between 1 and 2 an exemplary handler. 3rd. Lula Stower handling a Barbet,  she really looked like she was enjoying her day and so was her charge, super handler, great rapport,  very smart indeed, I think the heat was effecting both towards the end of the class as they both seem to go flat. 4th Isabella Tharnasingam handling a flat coat retriever. 5th Isabel Green handling a GSP.

Day 3. 6-11 years Entries (4) Abs (3)

1st Jacob Perfitt-Jones and Tabby the Alaskan Malamute. When I was 4 years of age I won the child handling class at Bovingdon camp exemption dog show under judge Roger Millbank and I thought I had peeked in the dogwood, when I won my first CC, CACIB Best of Breed, Group win, Best in show, crufts Group win, even Best Handler at Crufts I thought I had peeked, nothing could be bigger! But I was wrong! I sat on the ramp in my ring chatting to young Jacob and Tabby whilst waiting for the other exhibitors to arrive, he is such a lovely young man and he really loves his dog, he reminded why 50 years later I am still sat in the show ring, I started every class with a spiel about how rosettes don't matter, its about the rapport with your dog, it's about you both enjoying time with each other, our four paws are not with us forever,  in the junior handling we get to make life long friendships, not every judge is going to merit our dogs but that doesn’t matter, keep showing up, keep enjoying those moments with your dog. Jacob is a superb handler and so smart in his little suit, he is so eager to learn we did teeth and bite in the ring and he nailed it! I am so glad our paths crossed because now I feel my show career has peeked! To Jacobs mum I say" bad experiences build character " so never let him give up as he brings such a positive light to the doggy world when it needs it the most.

12-16 years Entries (4) Abs (3)

1st Lula Stower handling a Briard, not her first prize card this week, I preferred her handling the Briard to the Barbet she seemed more confident,  she completed every request without fault, great lines and a great future ahead.

Day 4. JHA 6- 11 years Entries (7) Abs(5). 1st Jack Davies handling a Tibetan Terrier,  great rapport with his dog he talked to his dog continually on the loose lead exercise which is what put him first, a tidy handler, smartly dressed, calm and collected at all times. 2nd Eva Scott handling a Dalmatian another stunning handler,  it was a hot day and I think she confused teeth with bite but she displayed both without a fault, tough competition between these two.

12- 16 years. Entries (11) Abs (4)

1st Lillie Betty handling a Basset  fauve de Bretagne, a faultless handler, incredibly professional,  smart, compassionate and talented.

2nd Isabella Carter handling a Beagle, another compassionate handler great lines sharp turns, lost to one as she blocked the line of view. 3rd Abigail Kirkwood- Emery handling a WHD, very smart handler, competent but lacks Sparkle, she needs to look like she is enjoying it,  the weather did drain even the bubbliest of people! 4th Harriet Bruford handling a Borzoi VHC Kacey McMahon handling an Elkhound. Huge thanks to those who entered under me, I enjoyed my time with you and your dogs, next year I will make a donation to Bath so that you have an incentive to enter, I hope that the winners liked their rosettes and Gifts, just a small token of my appreciation.
