Thank you to the Officials and Committee of the British Bolognese Club for their kind invitation to judge at this 18 class Breed Open Show. I must thank my very competent steward Mark for keeping the ring running well on track, given that this show was held alongside a partnership general championship show, which can sometimes create a few timing issues. My most sincere thanks must also go to the exhibitors who entered under me and for the sporting way they accepted my decisions. I would also like to take this opportunity to offer my best wishes to the Club for all their future endeavours as they have been granted CCs by the RKC for 2026 onwards. Sincere congratulations to the Officers and the Committee for continuing to work tirelessly to promote the Bolognese through the years as it is such a terrific little breed. Well-done to all concerned.

Baby Puppy Dog: (0,0)

Minor Puppy Dog: (2,0)

1. Morgan-Stanley’s Banacek Gianluca.   At just 6 ½ months old, such a confident baby boy and a smart little mover. Beautifully square in body with lovely balance to head and good dentition. Large dark expressive eyes and well set ears enhancing the head. Well laid shoulders and strong muscle definition to hind quarters. Pleasing natural texture to coat which was well presented and I was delighted to award him Best Puppy Dog and Best Puppy in Show.       2. Faulkner’s Arkadian Maranello.  Another baby at 6 ½ months old who moved delightfully. Dark eye with good shape. Not quite the squareness of 1 or a scissor bite at the moment, however muzzle to skull ratio acceptable. Moved soundly and with purpose.

Puppy Dog: (1,0)

1. Whateley’s Arkadian Portofino.  Litter brother to second in the last class, and nicely presented in natural coat. Good shape and balance to head with expressive dark eye. Correct dentition. Perhaps a shader longer in body than I would like. Seemed to be not too sure of himself today when moving but he is a pleasing puppy, nevertheless.

Junior Dog: (1,0)

1. Morgan-Stanley’s Banacek Antoine.  Loved this young man, just 15 months old and such a lot to like about him. Lovely masculine head of correct proportions and intelligent expression. Well-presented flocked coat, very square in outline, good angulation front and rear, with strong muscle definition. Moved smartly and confidently around the ring; he should have a bright future.

Novice Dog: (0,0)

Post Graduate Dog: (1,0)

1.  Tower’s Ocio Do Lusiadas with Enjanicka (Imp ITA).  6 year old with such pleasing proportions and definition to his very masculine head. Has lovely large round dark eyes with kind expression and good length and width to muzzle. Solidly put together, he moved smartly around the ring carrying his tail well.

Limit Dog: (2,0)

1. Mulligan’s Donocielo Mattia.   Liked this 2 ½ year old boy very much and found him to be of pleasing size with a balanced square outline. Good angulation front and rear. Impressive coat and presentation. Lovely head and expression with large dark eye. Correct proportions & definition to head. Took him a while to settle on the move but he moved soundly & true when he did.    2. Whateley’s Arkadian Alfredo Ferrari.   Great temperament on this 2 yr old boy and he seemed to enjoy himself on the move. Preferred the head on one and also found him a shade long.

Open Dog: (4,0)

1.  Mulligan’s Donocielo Michelangelo.  Mature well balanced and impressive male of 4 ½ years which, underneath a profusion of the distinctive long flocked coat, has a super balanced body outline. Is very square with nice depth to rib and correct leg length. Lovely head and expression with correct definition. He moved beautifully carrying his head high and I was pleased to award him Best Dog and Reserve Best in Show.       2.  Thatcher’s Kobanyai Pelyhes Odin with Devonia (Imp HUN).   Very pleasing and well-presented 4 year old male of good size with a very compact square outline. Lovely masculine head of good proportions with a really kind expression. Has great front and rear angulation. Moved beautifully around the ring. It was a very close decision in this class, and as such, I had no hesitation in awarding him Reserve Best Dog.     3.   Whateley’s Lyckalotte Enzo Ferrari at Arkadian.   4. Little White Wonder Eskimo of Golbourne (Imp NLD).

Veteran: (2,0)

1.   Tower’s Tumbril Timelord.     This exhibit was just over 11 years old and was more than happy to show himself off. Lovely head, nice bone throughout, good width at front and rear, well presented and moved soundly around the ring and with ease.  2. Walker’s Aemilia’s Roberto.   Another in this veteran class who looked well for his 9 years and was a steady mover. He was presented well but I just preferred the balance and exuberance of 1 today.

Baby Puppy Bitch: (0,0)

Minor Puppy Bitch: (2,0)

1.  Morgan-Stanley’s Banacek Il Mondo.     At just 6 ½ months old, I fell in love with this baby girl, she stood with confidence resulting in a very pleasing outline today. Well-proportioned head and dark eye with such a sweet expression. She was presented well and definitely moved soundly albeit in the fashion of a wonderful gambling lamb at times – a joy to watch her exuberance going around the ring. Was delighted to award her Best Puppy Bitch.     2. Green’s Banacek Annalisa with Samorrey.   Litter sister to one and of same nice qualities in her make-up. Good outline and another who seemed to be enjoying her day out. Perhaps not in her best jacket today.

Puppy Bitch: (1,1)

Junior Bitch: (1,0)  1.  Morgan-Stanley’s Banacek Diamante Bianco.   What a delightful young lady this 15 month old exhibit is. She has so much to like about her and I’m sure she will have a promising future. Beautiful eye shape/colour with such kindly expression. Very compact and has the desired angulation and outline to ensure sound lively movement – which she did indeed display with such energy.

Novice Bitch: (1,0)   1.   Tower’s Enjanicka Rock Diva.   22 month old super feminine young lady with great proportions to her head, has good eye shape and colour which makes for a really kind expression. Solidly made with a compact outline, once she settled, she really demonstrated sound & energetic movement.

Post Graduate Bitch: (1,0)  1.  Walker’s Aemilia’s Snowdrop.   At 21 months old, this young lady likely had a lot more to give but seemed a little unsure of herself today and took a while to settle & show her sound movement. She has a feminine head of good proportions & the required definition.

Limit Bitch: (4,1)   1. Tower’s Enjanicka Dance Away.    What a super young lady with such a wonderfully feminine expression. At just over 2 yrs old, she really caught my eye. So much to like about her, such pzazz & so well put together, including the shape and definition to her head, a clean neck with pleasing front and rear angulation coupled with good muscle definition. Her compact and well balanced, solid outline enabled some impressive free lively movement. Presented in excellent coat and condition and I was pleased to award her Best Bitch in Show, and she was also my Best in Show.     2. Thatcher’s Devonia’s Florence.   Another quality young lady of 21 months, she is balanced, compact and square in outline, just a bit more of her overall than 1. She is well put together from all angles, she moved soundly and was presented well. Just preferred the ‘joie de livre’ of the one standing first today.    3.  Mulligan’s Donocielo Maddalana.

Open Bitch: (3,0)   1. Thatcher’s Devonia’s Calabria.   Very smart 4 ½ yr old who really showed herself off well with her free, lively & sound movement. Really admired her head and her most feminine of expressions. A solid exhibit with a profusion of flocked coat, underneath which was a well-proportioned outline with good depth to brisket/leg length and pleasing angulation. She was at one with her handler and a joy to watch and I was pleased to award her Reserve Best Bitch    2. Tower’s Enjanicka Evening Emerald. Such a lovely head and expression on this 3 yr old quality bitch who was presented in pleasing coat and condition. She has super muscle definition throughout giving a solid body shape of square outline, sadly she was not moving at her best today.    3. Walker’s Aemilia’s Elizabeth

Veteran Bitch: (3,1)   1.   Mulligan’s Donocielo Seraphina.   What a beautiful veteran bitch, and at almost 11 ½ years old she certainly belied her age. Loved her feminine head and expression, with really dark kindly eyes, she had good proportions and definition to head. Moved so soundly and enthusiastically showing off her compact balanced outline and still with distinctive coat and plenty of it. A joy to go over. Had no hesitation in awarding her Best Veteran in Show.   2.  Whateley’s Belstown Beloved Amee at Arkadian. Not so balanced in outline or with the same verve as 1, however, this 7 year old did move well once she settled. Perhaps not in her best jacket today.
