Thank you to the Committee for asking me to judge at this show and to the exhibitors who braved the wild weather to attend, understandably there were a number of absentees across the board but I was pleased with the quality of my exhibits and particularly the puppies as I would have been happy to place all six in the group! Also thank you to my efficient steward Karen who kept us moving along nicely.

1st Moore’s Elmorell Ready For It – feminine b/t baby of just 6 months old, head developing well, good depth to muzzle, lovely ear set and soft expression, good eye colour. Loved her body proportions, she has good forechest and tight elbows, well muscled rear which showed in her smooth movement in one so young and held her topline well on the move, tight feet all round. BP & PG4
2nd Merchant’s Krieger’s Mark Miwords at Mandareus – 8 mth b/t dog of good size, wedge head, stop a little too deep, dark, almond shaped eye, neck still to muscle up which will balance him better, good body proportions and level topline, movement a little wayward in rear today but good in profile with drive.
J (4,3)
1st Brannan & Mycroft’s Supetas Boys are Back in Town JW – 14 mth b/r male, nice masculine head with level planes and good depth of muzzle, eye of nice shape and colour to match coat, nice forechest, square proportions, well muscled rear with good angulation, regular, powerful rotary movement. RBOB

1st Merchant’s Cockneyoka Get Over it at Mandareus – 2 ½ yr b/r male, strong masculine head, good ear set, dark almond eye, square body proportions, well muscled all around, was a little unsettled at first on the move but strode out well and even better in the Group to take BOB & WG2
Leonberger
P (1.0)
1st Mousdale’s Kalizmar the Aviator of Berglowe – 8 mth dog, head developing well with good proportions, soft, dark, oval eye, well coated with lovely black mask, correct body proportions, rear could be a touch more muscled, excellent bone & feet. Moved very well given his age, a little close behind at times but flowed in profile. BP, BOB, PG3 & WG4
J (2,0)
1st Jackson’s Lunahai Like a Hurricane – 14 mth male, head still developing but good proportions, dark eye, nice ear set and carriage. Body shape is square at this stage, rear angulation is good. Good outer coat which is dark but virtually in his underwear today! Movement regular and even. Would like a little more of him all over. RBOB
2nd Moulsdale’s Cookie Bombs Leo from the Old Oaks to Berglowe (Imp Deu) – 16 mth dog, head still developing, kind, dark eye, lovely black mask. Good lay of shoulder, body a touch longer than ideal and would prefer to see a little more hind angulation. Regular movement in profile, well coated.

O (1.0)
1st Davies Alfross Kapuko Aelius – 7 yr male showing his age a little today. Masculine head, good shape and colour of eye, dentition good for age. A little weak on his pasterns, good body proportions. Reduced muscle in the rear showed in his movement which was reluctant but did show some good steps. Well coated with good colouration and mask but presentation on the day wasn’t ideal.
Newfoundland
P (2,1)
1st Moore & James’ Starnewf Mr Dark Sky – 6 mth black male, a real baby, masculine head even at this stage, good muzzle proportions. Good front angles and forechest and correctly proportioned body. Good bend of stifle and muscling up nicely, movement is steady for his age. BP
J (3,1)
1st Popple’s Mileoak Wishing on a Star – 14 mth black bitch, feminine in head with good proportions. Lovely colour and shape to eye. Good front angulation but would like a little more length of foreleg to balance her, feet could be tighter. Body has 9:10 proportions, nicely ribbed, well muscled rear with even, flowing movement although a little close coming to, well coated.
PG (1,0)
1st Blahuta’s Daybreaker’s You Give Me the Shivers – 22 mth black male, masculine head of good proportions, nice colour and shape to eye, a little loose in lip. Nice angles front and rear, body ratio correct. Well coated. Would like to see a touch more rear muscle, movement was regular in profile. RBOB & Best RBOB in Group
O (3,2)
1st Popple’s Mileoak Loch Noir - 4 yr old petite, black female, good head and muzzle proportions, stop appears deep but this is an optical illusion created by her coat, good eye colour. Excellent angulation fore and aft, good forechest. Well muscled all over and moved accurately with even footfall and drive. Well presented. BOB
Rottweiler
P (3,1)& Stubley’s Gouldthiassi Wise One – 6 mth female, a real baby developing well. Nice head proportions, dark almond eye, good ear set but not used to advantage today, possibly a little overawed. Well filled forechest, correct body proportions, well muscled rear for age, well angulated fore and aft, moved well given her young age. BP
J (1,0)
1st Wilkinson’s Rottkinson Dark Knight – 15 mth male, masculine and up to size, nice balance to head which is proportionate to his size, dark, well shaped eye. Nice length of neck flowing into a straight topline. Good body proportions and front angulation. Well muscled rear but would prefer a little less angulation. Moved powerfully around with regular steps. Facial markings a little sooty.
PG (1,0)
1st Borne’s Starrosak Dance With Me at Trevearl – 2 ½ yr bitch, feminine head with good skull to muzzle ratios, nice shape and colour of eye. Decent body proportions, would like a touch more length to neck. Good angles front and rear, would like to see a little better rear muscle, moved out well in profile but a touch close behind going away. RBOB
O (1,0)
1st Willis-Impey’s Abacab’s Duchess – 3 yr bitch, feminine head of good shape, nice depth of muzzle and well defined stop. Well made all over in body, well ribbed with level top line and deep brisket, strong pasterns and hocks. Powered around the ring with assurance, presented in excellent condition. BOB
