Breed: Working & Group/some Pastoral/Puppy Stakes

Newton Abbott & South Devon Canine Society – 25th January 2025

Many thanks to the Committee for inviting me to judge at this show and thank you to the exhibitors for their entries. It was a long journey from Norfolk but I had some super dogs to go over which made it well worthwhile. Thanks also to my stewards, Tracey was the first but I didn’t get names of the others later in the day so apologies!

G (4,1)

1) Burt’s Aussiame Hot to Trot JW – 2 yr tri male, nice head proportions and good colour and shape to eye, moderate neck, nicely angulated in front and rear, level topline on correctly proportioned body, tight feet all round, would prefer a touch more rear muscle, flowing movement but occasionally a little close behind.

2) Smart’s Birtcross She’s Embracing – 15 mth tri female, feminine head of good proportions with a lovely expression. Nicely arched neck, level topline, a little longer cast than 1. A touch narrow in front but good depth of body and spring of rib for her age. Well muscled rear giving a regular, flowing movement, in good coat.

3) Lee’s Accra Forest Moon Over Amenbury

L (3,1)

1) Lee’s Villanyda Wizard’s Apprentice for Amenbury (Imp Esp) – 6 yr tri male, masculine head of nice proportions, expressive eye of good colour and shape, well angulated front and rear, good depth of brisket. Moved enthusiastically but settled to a good rhythm.

2) Richard’s Accra Incendio Fire – 2 yr red male, good width of head but would prefer a touch more width to muzzle for balance, eye colour matching coat, lovely soft expression. Good body proportions and matching angulation front and rear. A little close going away but good regular steps in profile.

O (4,1)

1) Lee’s Aoirstar Hunter’s Moon Over Amenbury (IKC) – 4yr tri male, masculine head of good proportions, good width to muzzle, excellent eye colour and shape. Good rear angulation and well muscled which showed in his flowing, effortless movement in all directions BOB

2) Burt’s Save The Tears For Another Day with Aussiame (Imp Ita) – 4 yr tri male, nice head with moderate stop and good ear set, dark, almond eye. Well angulated front and rear, good body proportions and depth of brisket, nicely muscled rear, flowing movement but a touch close behind today, was unlucky to meet 1.

3) Richard’s Birtcross Secret Agent With Accra JW
