PUPPY (1, 1 abs)

SPECIAL YEARLING (2, 1 abs)

1st - Dring’s You’re my Dream Smeline Svaja (imp LTU). RBOB.

Exuberant and pretty. This 13 month old female had a lovely rounded skull, square muzzle, most appealing soft expression and well defined eyebrows. Long clean neck, slightly sloping top line, very good spring of rib, short loin, firm hind quarters, well let down hocks and hind pasterns parallel from behind. Needs to settle on the move, but was straight coming and going. Well presented black and white coat, well handled.

LIMIT (1, 0 abs)

1st - Wellsted’s Arrowbien Rose & Rose at Davcar.

Very pretty female with appealing expression, muzzle and skull in perfect balance for the breed. Shorter in length of rib cage than some, and slightly longer in loin, but has plenty of depth of brisket. Slightly wide in chest, nice straight legs, superb angulation of hind quarters, stands over a lot of ground. Active on the move and well handled.

OPEN (1, 0 abs)

1st - Dummett & Vikhrova’s Nova Story Boogie Woogie JW (imp MNE). BOB.

Tri coloured male with great reach and drive, covered the ground with ease. Well schooled, superb presentation, expert handling. Attractive masculine head, well laid shoulders, straight front, plenty of depth through brisket, firm fore chest. Positive top line, excellent spring of rib, short couplings, well set on tail.

COCKER SPANIELS

PUPPY (5, 1 abs)

1st - Collings’ Aylesmead Blue Rose at Colmandakev.

Pretty 11 month old female. Blue roan coat, lovely outline, neck flowed well through withers to top line, pleasing lay back of shoulder, really good spring of rib and strong backend. Showed herself off well with good paces, expert handling.

2nd - Brothwell’s Annilann Da Business at Wissant.

Shoulders not quite as good as 1st and this affected his front movement today, but he is only 8 and a half months old so has plenty of time to develop further. Attractive masculine head, soft and gentle expression, ribs well back, broad hind quarters. Well presented blue roan coat, active on the move, well handled.

3rd - Wright’s Chazbaz Take A Chance On Me.

SPECIAL YEARLING (9, 2 abs)

1st - Wildman’s Wilanorah Perfik Scoundrel at Chanmalo.

Sound moving male of 13 and a half months, covered the ground well in profile, strong backend going away. Balanced head, attractive chiselling, bright expression, good reach of neck, straight front, cat like feet, level top line, carrying just the right amount of weight, well presented blue roan coat.

2nd - Brown’s Camionside Silver Locket at Popebel.

Beautifully presented female, attractive blue roan coat. I liked her proportion of muzzle to skull, and gentle expression. Correct width between forelegs, but I would have preferred slightly more fore chest. Well sprung ribs and positive top line, short loin, firm backend.

3rd - Davies’ Ryallcourt Happy Dance of Peacevale.

LIMIT (9, 4 abs)

1st - Beckwith’s Sheigra Special Secret with Balaambeck. RBOB.

Liked her neck set into sloping shoulders and good bend of stifle. Accurate footfall and very well handled.

2nd - Davies’ Mabelhope Melrose Miss of Peacevale.

Really fell for this liver roan female, she just lost out to 1st on flow of neck to shoulders. Pleasing angulation at both ends which helped her to move well, and with plenty of drive. Straight front, firm feet, well rounded hind quarters. Appealing warm expression, she had a merry attitude and responded well to her gentle handler.

3rd - Kidd’s Laurellakes Dream Come True with Freestone.

OPEN (8, 1 abs)

1st - Brothwell’s Wissant Uptown Girl. BOB. G1.

This blue roan female stood out for balance from every angle. Clean neck flowed well to sloping shoulders and level top line. Straight legs all round, perfect width and depth of chest, excellent rib cage for length, depth and spring, short strong loin and well developed hind quarters. Well turned stifles, short hind pasterns, cat-like feet. Ideal muscle tone, carrying just the right amount of weight. Covered the ground with ease, accurate footfall, true coming and going. Exceptionally well handled, a great team.

2nd - Marris-Bray’s Plaiglen Biker Babe to Helenwood JW.

Excellent paces from this super black coated female, accurate footfall, good drive from strong hind quarters. Solid, well muscled, good bone, straight front, well padded feet. Attractive head, intelligent expression from dark coloured eye, super skull and muzzle proportions. Expert handling. Would just have preferred slightly more lay back of shoulder.

CLUMBER SPANIELS

SPECIAL YEARLING (2, 1 abs)

1st - Crittenden’s Malbecmogs Tiger Eyes. BOB.

Balanced outline, liked his length of body to height proportions. Strong all through, well boned legs, round feet. Impressive lay of shoulders, well ribbed back, good spring of rib, short loin. Still needs to drop into his stifles, but at 16 months of age he has time for further development. Responded well to his gentle handler, they made a great team.

OPEN (1, 1 abs)

WELSH SPRINGER SPANIELS

PUPPY (1, 0 abs)

1st - Burchmore & Bowd’s Lenamore Renegade. BP.

Lots more development to come on this 11 and a half month old male, super shoulders, hind angulation needs to catch up with the front, but this should come. Pleasing body properties, well sprung ribs. Clean and glossy coat, happy disposition, well handled. Would have preferred a more definite bite.

SPECIAL YEARLING (2, 0 abs)

1st - Cooper & Mullin’s Gilstonia Maggie May.

Excellent in profile, symmetrical and compact. Attractive head, slightly domed skull, pleasing length of muzzle, kind expression. Good length of neck, well sprung ribs, short loin. Needs more strength in hindquarters going away, but time is on her side at 17 months of age. Not a heavily boned female, but has a dense coat and was very well handled.

2nd - Jessup’s Nyliram Paparazzi.

This 19 month old male was a bit shy today, it was only his 2nd show. Needs time and patience but this gentle handler will get there. He had good smooth paces once settled, his well angulated rear allowed him to drive forward. Appealing head, lovely eye shape, kind expression, neat ears, good length of neck, nice balance of length of leg to depth of body.

OPEN (3, 0 abs)

1st - Stevenson’s Sh Ch Mymmsbrook Matador with Blythway JW, ShCEx, OSW. BOB. G2.

This male really looked the part today, he showed himself off well, had powerful ground covering gait and accurate footfall. Appealing masculine head, attractive chiseling, deep muzzle. Well boned straight legs, cat-like feet. Shoulders well laid, deep brisket, impressive ribs for length, depth and spring, muscular loin, well developed hind quarters, good width across thigh. Tail straight off back when standing, but just a little proud of it on the move. Scored well on length to height proportions, beautifully presented and well handled.

2nd - Cooper’s Gilstonia Snow Moon.

Pretty and feminine, was excited at having a change of handler and rushed a bit on the move today. Appealing head and face, loved her neck set on to nice layback of shoulder, correct width of chest, straight front. Firm top line, slight rise over loin, broad muscular hind quarters, neat hind pasterns.

Excellent lay of shoulder and good bend of stifle, broad chest, well boned straight legs, well arched toes. Excellent rib cage with good spring and reaching well back. Needs to deepen in body, but still a young male at 17 months. Impressive muscle tone throughout.

LIMIT (1, 0 abs)

1st - Hutton’s Piccorino Portatore D’Amore. RBOB.

Exquisite head, balanced properties, quality chiseling, deep muzzle, soft expression. Powerful neck, impressive angulation of shoulders, straight well boned legs with obvious sinews . Ideal width of chest, excellent rib cage with good spring. Orange and white coat which was dense and glossy. Lost out to BOB winner on movement going away and coming towards. He needs to learn to move in a straight line so that judge can assess movement.

OPEN (3, 1 abs)

1st - Sladden’s Sh Ch Valcor The Confessor at Canemamans JW, ShCEx, OSW. BOB.

What a wonderful male, strong and powerful, eager to please. Excellent paces, free effortless stride, very good coming and going. Balanced outline, really good lay of shoulders, excellent turn of stifle. Good oval bone, slightly sloping pasterns, tight feet. Attractive head, ears hang close to cheeks in folds, muscular neck, typical top line, firm backend. Good width of chest, nicely sprung ribs, short strong loin. Hind pasterns parallel when viewed from the rear. Orange and white coat, expert handling.

2nd - Sladden & Forbes’ Canemamans Primo Al Fine JW.

Orange and white coated mature male, slightly longer in outline than 1st, but has sound paces. Heavier head with slightly more dewlap than I would like. Broad chest, straight legs, good spring of rib, strong backend, adequate bend of stifle, tended to carry tail too high on the move today.

HUNGARIAN VIZSLAS

PUPPY (3, 1 abs)

1st - Savage’s Silvestre Party On. BP. PG4.

Quality 6 month old female. Sweetest of heads, gentle expression, lovely length of neck to well angulated forequarters, straight legs, well arched toes. Short back, ribs with good spring. Ever so slightly bum high today, but could not be denied her BP and PG4. Graceful and elegant on the move, accurate footfall, sympathetic handler.

2nd - Savage’s Silvestre Plumb Hollow.

Another quality female, this one slightly older at 10 months. Well muscled, short coupled, impressive depth of body and proportional length of leg. Nice width of chest, straight legs, didn’t move quite as well as 1sttoday. Appealing head, skull developing nicely, broad muzzle, neat lips, well handled.

SPECIAL YEARLING (4, 1 abs)

1st - Cox’s Nicael Christmas Holly. BOB. G3.

Balanced outline, super shoulders and ideal bend of stifle enabled her to move round the ring with ease. Covered the ground well, lively action, well schooled, expertly handled. Very pretty, feminine head, muscular neck, obvious breastbone, well developed chest of good width, medium bone, arched toes. Level back, well sprung ribs, short couplings, firm backend. Was still a real showgirl right to the end of the day in the Gundog Group, deserved her BOB here and G3 place.

2nd - Woodcock’s Glengamna Malbec.

Maturing nicely, this 14 month old male appealed in lots of ways. Attractive head, moderately wide skull and slightly shorter muzzle, appealing expression from medium sized eye, fine leathers. Muscular neck, angulation balanced at each end but not quite as good as 1st, well boned straight legs, solid body, carrying just the right amount of weight, very well handled.

3rd - Winkworth & Woodcock’s Silvestre Fit As A Fiddle.

LIMIT (4, 2 abs)

1st - St Romaine’s Nemzet Kincse True Savannah for Szentromai. RBOB.

Balanced outline, well proportioned lean head, fairly wide skull, strong muzzle, neat lips. Depth of chest equal to length of leg, impressive lay of shoulders but slightly more forechest would have completed the picture. Well ribbed back, croup slopes slightly to tail set, hindquarters with adequate bend of stifle. Feet need to tighten, enough bone for a female, graceful and elegant on the move, kind effective handler.

2nd - Joyce’s Zuzu’s Petals by Ranchstar.

Very good length and spring of rib, short muscular loin, balanced proportion of length of body to height. Appealing head, slightly longer skull than foreface, intelligent expression. Plenty of width of chest, moderate bend of stifle, arched toes but feet could do with being tighter. Right hind leg crossed under body when standing and on the move, maybe she didn’t like the surface.

OPEN (2, 2 abs)

IRISH SETTERS

SPECIAL YEARLING (2, 1 abs)

1st - Brown’s Riverbrue Deadpool.

Glossy coat on this exuberant 16 month old male. Enjoying his day out and giving his handler a hard time, but lovely to see his enthusiasm. Masculine head with parallel planes, obvious stop, Intelligent expression from kind eye. Good length of neck, straight front, well boned legs, firm feet. Slightly sloping top line, impressive rib cage with good length and spring, good width of thigh. Untidy movement when going away, but maturity and more muscle tone should help

LIMIT (3, 0 abs)

Close decision between 1st and 2nd.

1st - Turner’s Gwendariff I Won’t Forget U. BOB.

Won here on turn of stifle, width of thigh and good length from hip to hock – these features enabled him to move with excellent power and drive from behind. Straight front and behind, plenty of depth through brisket, long rib cage with good spring, well boned legs, sinews obvious, small tight feet. Quality coat, excellent presentation and handling.

Deep chest, pleasing width between forelegs, excellent bone fore and aft, tight feet, firm top line, nice spring of ribs allowing plenty of heart and lung room. A great outline on this kind hearted male. He responded well to his sympathetic handler, moved actively, stood well, was keen to please. Flowing lines from head, down neck, through withers and along top line to tail set. Excellent angulation at each end, deep shoulders, good bend of stifle. At 9 and a half years old he is a credit to his owner.

Good length of neck, pleasing angulation fore and aft, level top line, excellent barrel shaped rib cage, short wide loin, straight legs all round and compact feet. 1st - Wilson’s Enryb Tickle Me Purple. Hungarian Wirehaired Vizsla. Best AVNSC Gundog Puppy. Reserve Best AVNSC Gundog. PG1.

What a star! This beautiful female really took my eye, a wonderful make and shape, robust and strong. Golden sand coloured coat, good feathering on head to suggest square shape, dense eyebrows and beard, really appealing expression from oval shaped eyes. Slightly rounded skull, straight nose, neat lips. Forequarters and hindquarters with equal merit, straight front, pleasing body properties, well ribbed back, excellent thighs and stifles, hocks low to the ground. Expertly handled. 8 months old and more development to come, could not be denied her wins today. Very promising.

2nd - Beresford’s Tuptonsett True Spirit. German Shorthaired Pointer.

Liver and white ticked female developing well, at 9 and a half months there is more to come. She was strong and straight coming and going, but she tended to roach a bit in profile on the day, both when stacked and when moving. Clean cut head, nice shoulders, stifles and thighs.
