POINTERS
Puppy (4, 0 abs)
1st Booth’s Lundgarth Ticket To Fly. BP.
Well shaped head and kind eye on this 11 month old black and white coated female. Expert handling gave her enough confidence for me to go over her and to appreciate her many qualities. Lovely reach of neck, deep well developed chest, perfect width between forelegs, straight front with oval bone and tight feet. Impressive lay of shoulder and bend of stifle, pleasing rib cage, very good paces, she was efficient and smooth. Very promising.
2nd Bush’s Piasharn Anne Bonny.
A different type to 1st, this liver and white coated female has a shapely outline, excellent angulation at each end, oval bone, firm feet, positive top line, her pin bones were obvious and she was well muscled throughout. Just 7 and a half months old, she moved very well, and was at one with her kind handler. Preferred the head of 1st.
3rd Radcliffe’s Sniperay Secret Affair.
Junior (2, 0 abs)
1st Collin’s Raigmore Hermia of Vabisbrae.
Smooth black and white coat on this 13 month old female. Attractive feminine head with medium skull and matching muzzle, well defined stop, bright eyes. Long and muscular neck, sloping shoulders, deep brisket, well sprung ribs, short loin, pleasing angulation behind, straight legs with good oval bone and oval feet. On the move she had plenty of forward reach, but I think the slippery ground conditions affected her rear drive which was a pity.
2nd Booth & Oddie’s Lundgarth Fly The Flag JW.
Symmetrical and balanced, this orange and white 11 month old male appealed for overall strength and straight parallel movement coming towards and going away. Well shaped masculine head, long neck, correct shoulder placement, ideal width of chest, strong bone and feet, sinews evident, nice width of thigh and well turned stifles. Close up to 1st, just felt he needs to grow into himself, and his stride was rather erratic at times, but this may have been due to the muddy conditions.
Post Graduate (7, 2 abs)
1st Gregson-Keirby’s Joneva Just A Dream.
Lovely shape, a series of curves, balanced and well put together. Feminine head, gentle expression from pretty eyes, good length of neck, front and rear angulation match. Orange and white coat, very well handled, lovely mover, covered the ground well, 14 months old.
2nd Edmondson & Robertshaw’s Crookrise Sunbeam.
Coming up to 2 years of age, body properties coming on nicely. Liver and white coat, balanced outline, ideal width of chest, straight front, good oval feet, well sprung ribs, equal angulation at each end. Just preferred the head of 1st.
3rd Bush’s Piasharn Breaking The Law.

LABRADORS
Puppy (4, 1 abs)
1st Gordon-Smith & Bibby’s Meadowline Whizz Bang at Bruxinho. BP.
Attractive outline of this 11 month old female, balanced angles helped her to win this class, strong all through. Broad skull, good depth and width of muzzle, melting expression from well shaped dark eye. Clean neck, sloping shoulders, straight front, round tight feet. Level top line, barrel shaped rib cage, nice depth of body, wide loin, well developed hind quarters. Was well handled and moved straight and true away and back, smooth ground covering stride in profile, pleasing tail carriage, dense black coat.
2nd Morrow’s Ruember’s Rose To Fame.
Appealing head, clean cut, well balanced skull to muzzle, kind expression. Level top line, pleasing rib cage, strong backend, good turn of stifle. Free moving, covered the ground well in profile, sympathetically handled. Slightly finer bone than 1st, but at 10 months has time to develop further.
3rd Thompson & Gordon-Smith’s Exelby Botis at Meadowline.
Junior (5, 0 abs)
1st Morrow’s Ruember’s Remember Me.
Chocolate coloured female, 10 months of age. Well shaped feminine head, broad skull, definite stop, lovely hazel coloured eyes, kind expression, used her ears well and was attentive to her handler. Well boned legs standing on round feet with thick pads. Level top line, excellent barrel ribs. Would prefer slightly more bend of stifle, hopefully this will come as she matures.
2nd Smith’s Binnaig Sea Barnacle on Flyenpyg JW.
17 and a half month old yellow coated male. Strong and well muscled throughout, masculine head, powerful neck, barrel ribs, short couplings, broad loin, well bent stifles, good bone, compact feet. Very well handled, movement let him down today.
3rd Thompson & Gordon-Smith’s E Botis at M.
Post Graduate (14, 7 abs)
1st Nuttall & Toppings’ Oakhouse Orl Or Nothing Gamblegate. BOB.
Most appealing chocolate coloured female in excellent weather resistant coat. Slightly finer bone, but she could not be denied BOB for her wonderful balance, excellent angles, straight legs and free easy stride, was straight coming towards and going away. Well ribbed back, well sprung ribs, wide loin, good depth of body, ideal length of leg, strong hindquarters. Attractive head, pretty features, kind expression, a lovely calm temperament, gentle and kind.
2nd Smith’s Meadowline Heartbreaker JW.
Appealing flow of neck through withers to level top line on this black coated male. Very good lay of shoulder, shoulder blade of good length, angle of upper arm placed forelegs well under body. Impressive rib cage with good spring, great depth of body, firm hindquarters, nice bend of stifle. Moved out well on straight legs, kind handler. Just would have preferred half an inch more on length of leg to balance with depth of body.
3rd Thompson & Gordon-Smith’s Meadowline Jurisprudence.
Open (8, 5 abs)
1st Thompson & Gordon-Smith’s Meadowline Mi Chico.
Scored here on balance of outline, both when stacked and when moving, also appealed for accurate footfall, easy ground covering stride on strong well boned legs. He watched his able handler all the time, he was attentive and just wanted to please. Correct hard feel to his yellow coat, good muscle tone, fit and strong all through. Broad skull, kind expression, good depth of muzzle. Powerful neck well set into sloping shoulders, equal angulation behind, a well sprung barrel shaped rib cage in between. Depth of body in balance with length of leg, round well padded feet. Could not believe he is nearly 10 years old!
2nd Smith’s Flyenpyg Jurgen Chopp JW.
Water resistant black jacket with dense undercoat on this lovely male. Strong neck, loved the flow from neck to sloping shoulders, pleasing return of upper arm. Excellent ribs for length, depth and spring, well turned stifles, strong straight legs. Moved at just the right speed, at one with his handler. It was a shame he was rather unsettled today, but there were a lot of very noisy distractions.
3rd McCamish’s Moatstrength Molly Beauty.
FIELD SPANIELS
Post Graduate (1, 0 abs)
1st McVitty’s Sonnetend Eternal Flame.
This liver coloured female had well laid shoulders and nice turn of stifle, deep chest and well ribbed back. Attractive head with chiselling, sweet expression from almond shaped eyes, muzzle was of a good length for scenting. Long neck was well set into shoulders, level top line, firm loin, hind legs straight when viewed from the rear. Moved with long easy stride, was very well handled, carrying just the right amount of weight.
Open (7, 3 abs)
1st Wheeler’s Elgert King For A Day. BOB.
A good honest dog, solid and true, not overdone in any way. Masculine head, loved his kind and gentle expression, good length of neck, well laid shoulders, deep chest, good flat bone, medium sized round feet. Balanced body properties, level top line, strong hind quarters, hocks well let down and parallel when viewed from behind. Smooth paces, covered the ground well, straight when going away and coming towards, well handled. Liver coloured coat.
2nd Shipton’s Bel Ch Broomeece Fire Cracker over Mishules BW24.
Mature male with profuse black coat, very well presented and expertly handled. Good length of neck, sloping shoulders, deep chest, well ribbed back, depth of body and length of leg of ideal proportions, well muscled loin, well bent stifles. Movement looked good in profile, but would have preferred straighter legs going away and coming towards, carrying a bit too much weight today.
3rd Shipton’s Heartwood Mishules All Is Possible with Calico (imp USA) JW, BW24.
