CURLY COATED RETRIEVERS
POST GRADUATE (3, 1 abs)
1st Perkins’ Maycourt Miss Sweetness at Tengore. BOB.
Upstanding bitch with elegant outline, positive top line, good bone and strong pasterns, tight round feet. Feminine face with pretty expression. Clean neck, excellent lay of shoulder, deep chest, well sprung ribs, turn of stifle just enough for powerful gait. Active stride, covered the ground well in profile. Well presented tightly curled black coat.
2nd Edworthy’s Brightmeadow Man Of Steel. RBOB.
Liver coloured male who scored well on correct width between hocks when standing and on the move, good bone and substance, effortless forward reach, strode out well, looked good in profile, drove from strong hindquarters, hocks low to the ground. Masculine head, pleasing neck and excellent spring of rib. Kind natured dog who responded well to his sympathetic handler. Would just have preferred a more positive bite.
OPEN (1, 0 abs)
1st Edworthy’s Maycourt Heartbreaker.
Black coated male who stood over plenty of ground. Very nicely put together, good bone and feet. Loved his head, wedge shaped, slight stop, appealing expression. Strong neck flowed to firm top line and short loin, croup sloped off slightly to tail. Deep brisket, well ribbed back, slight tuck up. When he entered the ring I thought he would be my overall winner, but I preferred the movement of the other two exhibits today.
ENGLISH SETTERS
POST GRADUATE (1, 0 abs)
1st Rainey’s Culverwell Touch Of Fortune at Wolmesdon. BOB.
Well deserved BOB, feminine and elegant appearance, clean outline, beautifully presented orange belton coat in excellent condition, carrying just the right amount of weight. Won here on true footfall, plenty of width between hocks when going away. Well shaped head, parallel lines, dark hazel eye with kind and friendly expression, deep muzzle. Very good feel to front assembly, muscular neck with natural easy flow to well laid shoulders and correct turn to upper arm, deep brisket. Straight front, tight feet, level top line, active on the move, well handled. Would just have preferred more bend of stifle to complete the picture, but could not be denied her BOB.
OPEN (1, 0 abs)
1st Osman’s Bournehouse Sirocco over Marissolo JW. RBOB.
Tri coloured male, very good bone, straight front, feet okay. Masculine head with lovely expression, clean cut oval skull and deep muzzle. Clean neck, well ribbed body, good spring to rib cage, level top line. Hind quarters strong and wide, excellent turn of stifle, but hocks rather too close together today when moving away. Would prefer more forechest. Kind and friendly disposition, sympathetically handled.
LABRADORS
PUPPY (3, 1 abs)
1st Mills’ Jaybec Winter Yule. BP.
Very promising well coated yellow male with attractive head, dark brown eyes, honest, friendly expression. Skull coming on nicely, defined stop, powerful muzzle. Clean neck, well laid shoulders, straight legs, well ribbed short body, level top line, excellent turn of stifle. Active and true on the move, front angulation needs to catch up with hind angulation, but he is only 6 and a half months old and there will be a lot more development to come. Would prefer slightly more forechest.
2nd Moody’s Trendlewood Hometown Glory.
Well angulated male of 8 and a half months. Used stifles and hocks well to drive, and took up well at the front using his good shoulders and return of upper arm. Just let himself down in profile on the move with rather short and sloping croup, this may have been the reason for his almost vertical tail carriage today. Such a lovely head, strong neck, lovely straight front and well shaped barrel ribs, was eager to please his gentle handler.
GRADUATE (9, 3 abs)
A difficult class to judge, many showed a lot of promise, all at different stages.
1st Hoban’s Meadowleigh Time To Dream.
Quality black jacket on this strong female. She is just over 12 months of age, has already developed well in rib and in skull, she has good bone and round compact feet. Her ears hang close to her head and her expression is intelligent and expressive. Straight from behind, movement coming and going was true, in profile she covered the ground well. Well carried otter tail.
2nd Wilcox’s Donamick Moonlight Shadow.
Another black coated female. Not a tall girl but excellent in rib, loin, thigh, stifle. Lovely warm expression from dark brown eyes, was keen to please her able handler. Movement a little close from behind, but in profile she powered round the ring well. Firm muscle tone and in lovely condition. 2 years old.
3rd Braddon’s Trendlewood It Takes Two JW.
POST GRADUATE (4, 3 abs)
1st Braddon’s Trendlewood Tiger Lily JW.
Beautiful head, face and expression on this yellow coated female. Good neck and shoulders, straight front and tight compact feet, excellent hind angulation, well bent stifles and typical otter tail. Barrel shaped rib cage, short loin. Slopes off slightly to tail and carries tail a little too high when moving, more width of chest than I would like which seemed to affect movement when coming towards. Losing coat today.
LIMIT (9, 6 abs)
1st Evans’ Trendlewood Long Time Comin at Pudleigh JW. RBOB.
Quality male in hard condition, strong and well muscled all through, this showed in his powerful and effortless movement. Good masculine head with broad skull, defined stop, kind eye, strong muzzle. Clean strong neck into very good lay of shoulders, plenty of upper arm, firm chest, straight front, good length of leg, strong bone. Level top line, impressive rib cage reaching well back, short loin, strong hindquarters with very good angulation. Stifles well bent, hocks low to the ground. Dense yellow coat, expert
2nd Hoban’s Meadowleigh Turn Back Time.
Sympathetic handler got the best from this chocolate coloured female, moved well and was at one with her handler. Head was well shaped, but lacked a little finesse. Broad skull and strong muzzle, kind expression. Deep chest, good bone, compact feet. Level top line, pleasing rib cage, well bent stifle, a little too close behind when moving away and neck not as clean as I would have liked. Well presented harsh coat with dense undercoat.
3rd Mills’ Lembas Kakamora.
OPEN (7, 3 abs)
1st Mills’ Jaybec Winter Wispa JW. BOB.
Beautifully balanced female in full double coat of yellow colour. Fits together well, flows from head to toe, glides round the ring with power, reach and drive, true footfall. Clean cut head, broad skull, deep muzzle, pretty face, expressive eyes. Clean neck well set into sloping shoulders, level top line, lovely spring of rib, short firm loin, well muscled hindquarters, wide thighs, good turn of stifle. Well boned straight legs and round tight feet. Very well handled, it was a pleasure to judge her.
2nd Fishlock’s Carpenny Halshimoor Delicious (AI).
Appealed for her strong bone and substance, broad hindquarters, good width between hind pasterns. Well presented dense yellow coat, tight compact feet. Feminine head with ears set slightly far back and hanging close to head, intelligent expression, black pigment. Excellent rib cage with good spring and depth, and reaching well back to broad short loin. Croup slopes down slightly too much to tail set, but tail carried well on the move, would prefer pasterns to be slightly more upright. She was kind and calm and gentle, what a lovely temperament she has.
3rd Mills’ Sh Ch Lembas Maui.
VETERAN (4, 2 abs)
1st Mills’ Trendlewood Day Dreaming.
Well turned out 7 year old yellow coated female carrying just the right amount of weight, fit and active. Well handled, and a pleasure to watch her move round the ring, true footfall, straight coming towards and going away. Excellent in profile, loved her outline, well made, felt good to go over. Strong neck, level top line, correct barrel shaped ribs, short loin, powerful hindquarters. I would have preferred a slightly darker eye.
2nd Hoban’s C H Delicious (AI).
Please see critique for 2nd in Open.
LARGE MUNSTERLANDERS
POST GRADUATE (2, 0 abs)
1st Caile’s Kamaze’s Dancing Queen. RBOB.
This 16 month old female looked like a typical teenager today, but I am sure she will develop further and put on some more weight soon. Her coat was beautifully clean and she was very well handled. Loved her head, well shaped skull, high set ears hanging close to cheeks, intelligent expression, kind and friendly. Strong neck, shoulder blade of good length and at correct angle, straight front, well padded feet. Ideal bend of stifle, rear pasterns parallel from behind. Covered the ground well, effortless free stride.
2nd Disney’s Wonglepong Willows Sunbird.
A grand lady at 11 and a half years old, she is a credit to her owner. Well balanced outline, deep brisket and good length of leg. Attractive head, kind, intelligent expression. Neck flows well to positive top line, well sprung ribs, broad hips, short croup. Would prefer slightly more bend of stifle and a straighter front, but she still defies her age.
OPEN (1, 0 abs)
1st Disney’s Kamaze Dance In The Dark. BOB.
This impressive male naturally stood foursquare every time he came to a halt. Very well made, balanced from every angle, a lovely dog with very good paces. Handler just about moved him fast enough for me to see his accurate footfall, but he could show himself off further if he was moved a little faster. Straight legs front and back, very good bone, well shaped tight feet. Well proportioned head, expressive eye, strong muzzle, slight arch to neck, firm top line, excellent depth through brisket and ribs nicely sprung. Sound back end with good muscle tone and short hind pasterns.
POINTERS
PUPPY (1, 0 abs)
1st Osman’s Fleurfield Benjamin Button with Marissolo. BP. BOB.
Very promising male, exquisite outline, a series of curves, balanced and symmetrical, quality all through. Only 7 months of age but could not be denied winning BOB today. Orange and white jacket, really wonderful head, skull developing nicely, defined stop, concave muzzle, alert and friendly expression. Pleasing neck, long and slightly arched, excellent lay of shoulders and hind angulation to match, stifles well bent. Straight front, oval bone, sinews obvious, tight oval shaped feet. Very good length of rib cage allowing for plenty of lung and heart room, well coupled, plenty of strength to hind quarters, hind legs parallel when viewed from behind. Moved accurately and with lots of enthusiasm, expert handler has a great rapport with him.
POST GRADUATE (3, 0 abs)
1st Wilcox’s Harvestslade Fire And Ice through Merynjen JW.
Orange and white male, shapely outline, balanced angulation, well muscled all through. Loved his head, skull and muzzle in proportion, well defined stop, kind expression. Long and muscular neck fitting well into pleasing lay back of shoulder. Good depth through brisket, and ideal width of chest, straight front, excellent oval bone, well shaped oval feet, parallel from behind and short hind pasterns. Moved very well using strong and well angulated hind quarters to drive round the ring with free flowing stride
2nd Symphorien’s De Las Navazuelas Emilia avec Rienmour (imp ESP).
Feminine head, medium width of skull, pretty face, fine leathers. Smooth black and white coat, good depth of chest, straight legs. Excellent bend of stifle, plenty of width across thigh, hocks well let down, parallel legs when viewed from behind. Would prefer slightly more front angulation, slightly more lay back and length of shoulder blade.
3rd Bleathman’s Tolenas Peony Polly for Wynbury.
OPEN (2, 0 abs)
1st Tregaskis’ Moenfair Sanguineum Luna JW.
This male covered the ground well with smooth effortless stride. Well laid shoulders, nice depth through brisket, slightly wider in chest than I would like. Straight front legs, good oval bone, strong pasterns. Ribs nicely sprung and reaching well back, slight rise over loin. Hindquarters strong and muscular, well bent stifle. Kind expression, but muzzle falls away a bit from nose and is not quite balanced with skull. Well presented liver and white coat, expertly handled.
2nd Osman’s Fleurfield Firethorne at Marissolo ShEx VW.
Preferred the head of this male, but his movement was rather exaggerated. Fine leathers and really lovely expression, a kind hearted dog who obviously adores his able handler. Would prefer a slightly longer neck and better front angulation, but his hind quarters were well made, excellent width across thigh, very good bend of stifle. Good bone, well knit feet with arched toes. Good width of chest and deep brisket, straight front legs, black and white coat.

Balanced outline of this 7 month old female. Attractive head, slightly elongated, obvious occiput, skull and muzzle in perfect balance. Clean cut neck, scored well over 2nd with better lay of shoulder, pleasing flow from neck through withers to top line. Impressive breastbone, ribs and stifle. Feet need to tighten, but well boned legs, and carrying just the right amount of weight. Accepted replacement hander very well for movement, displayed smooth paces.
2nd Tullett’s Rivertone The Wizard.
Good length of body to height ratio, effortless stride once settled. Well boned legs, positive breastbone, firm chest, good muscle tone throughout. Strong hindquarters, parallel from behind. Preferred lay of shoulders of 1st, saw later he is her litter brother, his feet also need to tighten.

Slightly unsettled today, but he allowed me to go over him. Wonderful paces in profile, accurate footfall coming and going away, hind pasterns parallel when viewed from the rear. Appealing expression, good width and depth of chest, straight front, well boned legs, Deep body, very good spring of rib and ribs reaching well back to short loin, slightly sloping croup, ideal tailset. Elegant, graceful, feminine, pretty. Beautiful head, most appealing cheeky expression. Elegant neck held well on the move, deep chest, short back, well sprung ribs, well angulated hind quarters. Well presented thick black coat, carrying just the right amount of weight, expertly handled. She could have done with being more active today, this could have been due to the heat.

Wendy Pickup (Judge).
