Welsh Terrier Association

Welsh Terrier Association Open show 24th May 2025

Many thanks to the committee for their kind invitation to judge this small but quality entry.

JD (1)

1. O’Connell’s Letoha A Star Is Born. This attractive lad not long out of puppy was sporting a wiry hard jacket and was put down in immaculate coat and condition. Decent head, dark eyes with a keen bright expression and neat well placed ears. Good neck and shoulders with a short back, well set tail and well made hindquarters. Some developing still to do in terms of depth of chest and ribbing as you expect at this age. Moved soundly out and back. RBD.

OD (2,1abs)

1. Schoneberg’s Paperman Arteon (ATC). A quality dog, compact in outline and smart in appearance. Masculine head, keen and alert with darkest of eyes and well set on ears. Decent length of neck with well laid shoulders, good ribbing, short back with strong rear quarters and tail bang on top. Presented in fit condition and hard wiry jacket. Gaited freely and soundly on the out and back and on the go around. BD and BIS.

MPB (1)

1. Karov’s Ivalley Maria Girl. Baby girl of just 7 months. Feminine head, dark eyes and excellent pigmentation. Decent length of neck, well laid shoulders, her ribs and chest are developing, firm loin and tail set on well. Would like a little more coat on her but what she has was of quite good texture. Moved soundly enough, just needing to settle a little which time and experience will improve this. BPB and BPIS

PB (1)

1. Karov’s Ivalley Maria Girl. Repeat see MPB notes

JB (1)

1. O’Connell’s Letoha Made In Italy. Litter sister to JD winner also with lots to like. Feminine head, dark eyes with a keen terrier expression and neat well set on ears. Slightly arched neck, well laid shoulders, chest and ribbing still developing, nice short back, nicely angulated fore and aft with her tail set on well. Presented in fit condition and hard wiry jacket. Moved well on the go around particularly in profile action, her rear movement just needs to tighten a little. Shows plenty of promise RBB.

LB (3)

1. Vickers & Dam’s Jodean Aquarius. Smart girl, soundly constructed throughout with a pleasing compact outline. Decent length of neck with well laid shoulders, good ribbing, short back with strong rear quarters and her tail was good for both set and carriage. Feminine head with dark expressive eyes, ears set on fairly high, strong jaws and good dentition. Presented in fit condition and hard wiry jacket. It was on the move that she had the edge in this class. Gaiting freely with accurate footfall. BB & RBIS

2. Harriosn’s Gaelic Rose. Another lovely lady, compact, slightly heavier in build than winner with good overall balance. Pleasing feminine headpiece with good skull, eyes of good colour, nose pigment could be a little more dense, very good ears and strong jaws. Moderate length of neck, firm topline, excellent ribbing, firm topline and tail good for set and carriage. She was sporting a very well presented hard wiry jacket. Moved out soundly enough, not quite as coordinated on the move as winner today. RBB

3. Watkin-Jones’ Westpenn Just For You. Feminine headpiece, dark eyes and ears set on fairly high. Quite compact in outline, nicely arched neck, firm topline and strong loins. I would like a tad more angulation fore and aft and a little more substance throughout. Good jacket. Moving soundly on the go around.
