Day 1

Maurice Bellamy Early Bird Puppy Stakes (16,9abs)

1. Hardisty’s Blunderhill Jackson (Beagle). D. Handsome lad, who caught my eye as soon as he entered the ring, liked his size and outline, with his correct tail set. Well made throughout and shown in super condition. Showed his socks off, and he impressed on the move with good reach and drive holding his top line and tail carriage.

2. Hannington’s Boudivella Dottie (Glen of Small Terrier ) b. When I looked at the catalogue after judging, I realised I’ve met this young lady before and thought highly of her then and clearly still do. Lovely for type, and well made throughout, it was on the move that she earned her place today, with her confident and easy ground covering stride. Presented in good coat and condition

3. Beresford’s Tuptonsett True Spirit (GSP). B

Border Terriers

P (5,2abs)

1. Bullen’s Terabyte Glory Boy at Fevstone. D. BPIB. An immature baby, who is developing nicely overall. Pleasing head shape, lovely dark eyes and good bite. Narrow throughout, easily spannable with a firm top line and a well set tail. Nicely angulated hind quarters and covered the ground well.

2. Hall’s Ravenside Ramona at Borderrush. B. Slightly smaller girl, who also is still quite immature at the moment but quite nicely proportioned and very feminine in appearance with a short strong muzzle and dark eyes. Nice rib and ribbed well back, easily spannable, and moderate angulations. Moved out confidently just needs to strengthen a little going away.

3. Tomlinson’s Fairhambrook The Tyler. D.

J (2,1abs)

1. Tomlinson’s Fairhambrook The Tyler. D . Slightly taller, rangier lad, who was 3rd in his previous class, rather unsettled today and sniffing the ground but when he did concentrate, he had quite good ground covering action. Strong head with a dark eye, keen expression. He is quite narrow throughout, spannable, nicely presented in good order and stood well on good legs and feet.

PG (3,2abs)

Hall’s Borderrush Beeble Honey Rum JW. B. RBOB. Typy feminine girl of good size with a pleasing and shapely outline. Well proportioned head, dark eyes and keen expression with well set on ears. Good top line and tail set and easy to span. Straight front and small neat feet with well angulated shoulder, well turned stifle which she put to good use on the move.

O (5, 2abs)

1. Hall’s Borderrush Rambutan JW. B. BOB. I liked this girl lot, a handy sized feminine bitch of lovely breed type, loved her otter like head and expression and she was in super coat and condition. Lovely neck and shoulders, easy to span, well ribbed back rib, into strong loins. Narrow and moderate throughout. Sound on the move with a good ground covering action.

2. Bullen’s Fevstone Cinderella Man. D. Taller lad, but he is quite narrow throughout, not as easy to span as the winner. Masculine otter like head, and keen expression. Straight forelegs, good feet and thick pads. Ribs carried well back and in good coat and pelt.

3. Sutton’s Fisherbloom Killer Queen at Thistlewhiss. B .

Cairn Terrier

J (3,1abs)

1. Sinclair & Tothill’s Tycadno Starburst. D. BPIB. Well proportioned youngster with a typical outline and having the better coat today. Pleasing head with good breadth of skull, neat ears very dark eyes giving him a keen and alert expression. Good length of neck which fits nicely into a firm top line and well set tail. Still some developing to do through his fore chest and body. Gave a good account of himself on the move.

2. Dennis & Waites’ Svendalens Moonstone. D. Another pleasing lad with lots of developing to do through his body but he has good overall balance and proportions. He has an appealing head with a defined stop, and dark, mischievous eyes. Good length of neck that flows into a firm top line and a well-set tail. Not a great deal of coat today. Moved out confidently. Just needs time.

PG (4)

1. Firth’s Cairngold Claim To Fame. B . BOB. Appealed for her good overall proportions and balance. She has a feminine head with small, neat ears, with strength in her foreface, giving her a keen and alert expression. Her neck is of good length, and she has a well-developed fore-chest with a good ribcage. Sound as a bell on the move, whilst maintaining her outline. Presented in a harsh double coat.

2. Munday’s Furythor Reluctant Villain. D. RBOB. I liked the overall stamp and proportions of this workmanlike lad. He has an appealing head with a balanced skull width, a defined stop, and dark eyes with a keen alert expression. His neck is of good length, and he has quite a well-developed fore-chest with a good ribcage. Nicely angulated front and rear which he used well on the move. Well presented and handled

3. Sinclair & Tothill’s Tycadno Quick Shot. D

O (2,1abs)

1. Dennis, Waites, & Goddard’s Ch Good Times Ahead with Oudenarde. D. Masculine lad who displays good overall balance and proportions. His head is well-shaped, and he has a good expression head and a keen eye. Soundly made all through, with a well ribbed body, level top line and good tail set. Presented in a good jacket with a lovely harsh double coat, just felt he was perhaps carrying a little more body condition. Maintained his outline on the move, but couldn’t quite match the PG winner today.
