Judges report of Woolwich Bexley & District Open Show 7th December 2025

I would like to thank the committee for the invitation to judge today. The weather could have been better but with the help of my stewards & brave exhibitors I thoroughly enjoyed my day.

1 Jenkins Tollekin Villenenard Of Whistlefire 11 mth dog with a balanced head for his age. Muzzle tapers from stop to nose. Almond shaped eyes with alert expression. Moderate length of neck leads to well laid shoulders. Moderate tuck up with short deep loin. Good bone & tight feet. Level topline held on the move. Carries his feathered tail well on the move. Strode out well in profile & sound up & down. BP PG4

1 Last Lastayla Summer Lovin 17mth bitch with an attractive feminine head with well shaped eyes of good colour & slightly rounded skull. Well laid shoulder with good return of upper arm. Well sprung ribs which reach well back to short, deep loin. Level topline & well set & carried tail. Moved well.

1 Strevens Tollisty You Can’t Decline 4yr old dog with a masculine head with slightly rounded skull. Strong, moderate neck leads to well angulated front quarters. Matching angulation behind. Deep chest & well sprung ribs. Good width of second thigh. Level topline held on the move. Carries his tail well on the move. Moved well.

1 Jenkins Sh Ch Tollisty Moet En Chandon JW 4 yr old dog with a well shaped masculine head with kind eye, well set ears & strength of muzzle. Deep chest with well sprung ribs. Well angulated all through with a good width of second thigh. Level topline & well set feathered tail. Won the class on his free flowing movement showing good extension fore & aft. BOB

2 Strevens Sh Ch Tollekin Caife Gaelach At Tollisty 6 yr old bitch with a feminine head. Tapered muzzle & intelligent expression. Straight front with deep chest. Balanced angulation all through with short rear pasterns & good width of second thigh. Moved well.

1 Smith & Hill Rosgar Wish Upon A Star 9mth bitch feminine head with dark eye & pigment. Straight front with well boned limbs & tight feet. Strong neck of good length leads to well laid shoulders & a good return of upper arm. Good depth of chest, well sprung ribs which reach well back to short deep loin. Level topline held on the move with a well set & carried tail. Her movement was good with a lovely flowing side action & she was sound up & down. BOB BP PG3

1 Wilmshurst Mandamay Scarlet Ribbons 11mth black bitch with a feminine head, dark intelligent eye & strong muzzle. Strong neck leads to well placed shoulders. Well angulated all through with width of second thigh & short rear pasterns. Good coat & well set thick tapering tail used well on the move. Carrying a bit too much weight but moved OK when settled. BP

2 King, Johnson & Johnson Cobalt Blue Of Linthwaite 14mth black bitch. Feminine head with kind expression. Strong neck. Well angulated all through. Deep chest & well sprung ribs. Level topline. Moved OK

1 Scutcher Winsleywood Witchcraft 16mth yellow bitch with lots to like. Feminine head with good pigmentation is well set on strong neck of good length. Super angulation all through. Deep chest, well sprung ribs & short deep loin. Well set tail used well on the move. Presented in good coat & well muscled condition. Looks as though she could do a day’s work. Moved really well holding her topline. BOB GP3

1 Newman Creamwood Silver Hawthorn 5yr old yellow dog. Balanced angulation all through. Deep chest & well sprung ribs which reach well back. Short deep loin. Good width of second thigh & short rear pasterns. Uses his tail well on the move. Moved well.

2 Scutcher Winsleywood Wicked 16mth yellow bitch. Another fit looking bitch. Well laid shoulders with a good return of upper arm. Good width of second thigh. Happy disposition, moved well.

1 Smith Esined Double Delight 5yr old bitch with a nicely moulded feminine head. Intelligent expression. Clean neck of good length. Forechest evident with good depth. Well ribbed up with a short loin. Stands on straight limbs with good bone & close well arched toes. Super angulation all through with width of second thigh. Moved out soundly up & down with a lovely flowing stride in profile using her tail gaily. BOB GP2

Well angulated all through with a firm level topline held on the move. Good depth of chest & well sprung ribs. Short loin. Stands on well boned legs with tight feet. Good coat texture. 2 Savell Petranella Strike It Lucky 6mth ESS dog with a well shaped head & dark eye with a kind expression. Presents a balanced picture stacked with good angulation all through. Good length of neck leads to a level topline held on the move. Stands on straight well boned limbs & tight feet. Deep chest. Well sprung ribs. Presented in well muscled condition & moved out well from any angle.

2 Braine Chilternway Allium 9mth Weimaraner dog with a well proportioned masculine head, tightly drawn skin. Clean cut neck of good length. Well angulated all through with strength & width of second thigh. Correct length of body with a firm topline. Stands on strong well boned legs with well arched tight feet. Moved Ok when settled.

1 Wynne-Evans Droveborough Blue Pearl 2yr old Eng Setter bitch with an attractive feminine head having strength & depth of muzzle & a kind intelligent expression. Good length of neck flows into close bladed shoulders which are well laid back. Corresponding return of upper arm. Deep chest, well sprung ribs. Short loin. Firm topline & well set tail. Well angulated rear quarters with short rear pasterns. Strong bone & neat feet. Moved well.

1 Tye Irisbel The Greatest Showman At Tymora JW This 2yr old Field Spaniel dog headed a good class. Super masculine head, well chiselled with a moderate stop. Good eye shape, dark & full of expression. Strong neck of good length leads to well placed shoulders. Well angulated all through with a deep chest & well sprung rib cage of the correct length. Stands on strong well boned limbs with neat feet. Firm topline held on the move with a well set & carried tail. Sound from any angle his side gait was impressively powerful & it was a pleasure to watch him go. BAVNSC GP1

2 Wynne-Evans Droveborough One Love 7mth Eng Setter bitch with lots to like. Pretty head with well set dark eyes & strength of muzzle. Neck of good length leads to firm topline, Balanced angulation all through. Deep chest. Moved well.

1 Blay Sh Ch Barleyarch Skye At Longbarrow ShCM Sh CEx VW 8yr old GSP bitch who I have had the pleasure of awarding high honours to previously in the Breed. She belies her age & was presented in good harsh coat & fit well muscled condition. A good example of the breed. Moving with reach & drive she is sound from any angle. BV RBVIS

2 Welch & Hazeltine Sh Ch Pytchley Chasing The Dream For Hookwood JW ShCM ShCEx 8yr old Pointer dog who presents an imposing picture on the stack & this holds when in full stride on the move. Well balanced head fits onto neck of good length. Close bladed shoulders which are well laid & a good return of upper arm. Well angulated rear quarters with well set & carried bee sting tail. Stands on straight well boned limbs & tight well arched feet. Sound from any angle. Unlucky to meet the GSP in such fine form.
