Border Counties Gundog Club

Breed: German Longhaired Pointer

Open D

1. Thomson; Sarscottah Fearless Flame IR JNR CH I judged him as a puppy and he has started to mature, going through that rangy stage but well-muscled for his age. Strong boned with compact feet, needs to tighten throughout but moved well with good reach and drive when he finally settled.

Open B

1. Thomson; IR SH CH Sarscottah Delux lovely head and dark expressive eye, judged previously and same remarks apply, presented in good coat and condition, moved well when she settled but still needs time to tighten up in front.

AV Vulnerable Native Gundogs

Junior

1. Xclusiv Pour Dulmaur Belfleur Du Roux-Miroir (IMP BEL) Gordon Setter. Lots to like on this young bitch, lovely feminine head and expression, very balanced both standing and, on the move, still a lot of maturing to do, but I’m sure she has a bright future ahead of her.

2. Knockhalon Spooktacular of Tarastigh; Clumber Spaniel. This promising young dog was presented in good coat and condition, very nicely put together and moved soundly, with a bit more practice they could be a good team.

3. V’reiltin Vosgienne De la Riviere Ouareau for Tingleburn (IMP FRA) IWS.

Grad

1. Tonispada Vuori Vincent by Blanshard; Curly Coated Ret. This young dog stood out as he entered the ring, super head and dark eye, balanced throughout and shown in excellent hard condition, tight crisp coat, he moved effortlessly around the ring. It was a pleasure to judge him and nice to see he was awarded RBIS later in the day.

2. Ennydloc Yorkshire Liaison to Rowanmyle; English Setter, handsome young man, well-made throughout with nice head and expression. Still has some maturing and tightening up to do, moved well in profile but had a tendency to crab across the ring.

3. Crumbledor Archibald Alderton; Sussex Spaniel

Open

1. Rowanmyle Was a Skellum ShCEx; English Setter, mature male that gave that impression of strength and power, yet remains elegant and graceful, full of quality and loved his lashing tail on the move.

2. Panthera Bad Medicine Dulmaur (IMP POL) Gordon Setter, feminine head and expression, mature in body and on the move, just not as positive in rear drive as my winner.

3. Finchsmill Secret Surprise for Tingleburn; IWS

Junior Handling

6 – 11 Years

1st Karson Maver, this very smartly dressed young handler was a pleasure to judge, he stacked and moved his dog calmly and professionally. Good clean presentation of the teeth when asked and repositioning on the table. Pattern and shadowing were good and unobtrusive. Best overall junior handler.

12 – 16 Years

1st Sophia Scott, Not the easiest breed to handle, but Sophia did a great job keeping her dog happy and under control in a calm manner, there were a few occasions where the golden rule was missed but I really hope she continues with the handling classes.
