Cheltenham&District Canine Society Sunday 23 February 2025 Kathryn Trevor -Trevorsilk Many thanks to the committee for my judging appointment and my two steward Pam and Kirsty who kept my ring moving. It had been a long wait for the exhibitors as we were in the ring after all the toy breeds so many thanks to you all for stopping . Also thank you for your patience as I really wasn’t feeling very well and I really hope I didn’t pass my germs onto anyone else Flatcoated Retrievers Puppy (5,2) 1 Pierce Wychwood Forester A black 9 month old male already has a lovely head for one so young moderately broad and moulded in one piece a lovely dark almond shaped eye correct bite ears correct size set onto a long neck with his coat currently growing it makes his neck look short but it isn’t a good deep chest and a well-defined brisket a level top and a the loin length was correct he has a good bend of stifle and is well muscled for one of this age, his movement was free flowing showing power glad to see him on a looseish lead and not strung up I will be interested to watch his progress as he matures BP 2 Stevenson Vynesbrook Sapphirea black 11 months old female altogether a finer bitch than my first place had a lovely head and dark eye slightly shorter neck reasonable depth of chest good spring of ribs level topline good bend of stifle a happy girl when moving showing a typical flatcoat movement she took time to settle 3 Gardiner Flanova Black Moon Over Svenjak BP Special yearling (5,2) 1.Hedges Satinbaze Tranquil Sea23 months old black female who was in great condition a very typical female head which made my heart sigh, a girl I could easily have taken home with me her neck was of good length and a deep chest and great brisket for a female a lovely spring of rib and level topline when standing true great bend of stifle and well-muscled thighs she flowed around the ring showing a true flatcoat power without lumber movement on a loose lead she needs a bit of time to mature which will happen and deserved RBOB 2 Pierce Wychwood Forester repeat of above 3 Stevenson Vynesbrook Sapphirea Limit (2) 1 Churchard Flatcharm Griffin Dark at Churchking a 3and half year old male who had a good head with a dark almond shaped eye, correct bite good length of neck, deep chest, good spring of ribs leading to a short loin, good bend of stifle and a level topline when standing square, groomed to perfection with lovely neat feet a happy dog on the movement carrying his tail slightly gaily and slightly stung up throwing front movement 2 Stevenson Feldkirk Rose N Roses a 3 year old female smaller bitch than first place more compact but correctly proportioned lovely head and correct eye colour ears nicely placed and a well set on neck of a good length lovely topline and a happy wagging tail, feet could have been tidier not as much coat as my first place and a looser lead might have helped her movement Open(4,1) 1 Colson WindyHollows Ragged Robin JW a 3 year old male who caught my eye on entering and I wasn’t disappointed a superb male head with correct proportions and great almond shaped eye with a dark brown colour he has a great neck and correct placement of shoulders his front legs were straight and true and the amount of bone was fabulous a great depth of chest and a good brisket a level top line both standing and on the move good turn of stifle and excellent feet well-muscled rear with a good turn of stifle moved around the ring on a loose lead which meant he had showed true flatcoat moment the power without lumber and a happy dog with a constantly wagging tail and a wash for me when going over him pleased to give him BOB and also wonderful to see him get group 2 in the gundog group 2 Bowen Clandrift bring me Sunshine JW KCWGC a 2 and half year old male a great head and correctly placed eyes a slightly shorter neck than I would like good depth of chest lovely straight legs not as much bone as my first place nice short loin his topline wasn’t as level as my first place a nice overall dog unlucky to come up against my first place sadly on being moved for RBOB he slipped on the floor and then he didn’t move as confidently 3 Stevenson Bitcon Taylor Made for Svenjak
