Thank you to the committee for inviting me to judge Dobermanns.

Dobermanns: I was disappointed that several of the Dobermanns entered today had a conformational fault where the hocks (the ankle joint on the hind legs) pointed inwards, causing the back paws to angle outwards hindering their mobility on the move. Fortunately my principle winners stood true and square.

Puppy (2/2)

1. Webb’s Shalissa’s into the Shallow

11 month old Black & Rust Bitch. Elegant and Feminine, the overall picture showed a very balanced dog. she has a pleasing head with dark almond eyes, good length of muzzle, from above resembling a blunt wedge shape, tight lips with a good scissor bite. Neat small ears carried high and lying close to the cheeks. An elegant neck leading onto well laid shoulders, leading onto good straight forelegs, elbows close to chest, a square body with a well developing fore-chest. Back was short and well developed carrying a firm, slightly sloping top-line, good spring of ribs and a good tuck-up to the belly. Standing square on parallel hind legs, well bent stifles and parallel hocks, cat like and tight feet. Good reach and rotary drive from the rear giving her an elastic, free and balanced movement BPIP, pleased to see her be awarded WPGp1 and RBPIS.

2. Robertson Cockneyoka Commander

7 month old Black & Rust Dog, Very young and still developing, pleasing head, dark almond eyes, good length to the muzzle and a slight stop. Ears carried high and lying close to the cheeks. Shorter neck leading on to shoulders, strong forelegs and elbows tight to chest, tight feet, and a good fore-chest, good spring to the ribs, a moderate tuck up. Top-line slightly sloping. Movement was erratic today, but this boy needs time to settle and develop.

Junior (2/2)

1. Webb’s Shalissa’s into the Shallow (puppy class winner)

2. Krieger’s Mark Miwords at Mandareus

16 month old Black & Rust Dog with a strong head, dark slightly rounded eyes, dark black nose. Good scissor bite. Longer in neck leading on to well laid shoulders, good forelegs, elbows not sitting as tight into the chest, feet not as tight as 1, and slightly flat on the pasterns. Good spring to the ribs with a moderate tuck up. Had a tendency to pace, hindering his movement.

Post Graduate (2/2)

1. Beck’s Sacarias Blue Jean Baby at Bekesha JW

19 month old Black & Rust Bitch. Very Feminine. She has a good head, good length of muzzle and slight stop, dark almond eyes, black nose, good scissor bite and a flat forehead. Good length of neck leading on to strong shoulders, nicely developed fore-chest, good spring to the ribs strong forelegs and elbows tight into the chest and tight cat-like feet. Good tuck up to the belly. A good top-line slightly sloping to the croup. Well bent stifles and parallel hocks, she stood square. On the move she didn’t disappoint with reach from the front and rotary drive at the rear. RBIB (Unfortunate to meet the open class winner in the challenge today)

2. Brockley’s Verlayson Ensipotens

2 year old Black & Rust Dog. Has a more rounded head, shorter muzzle and slight stop. Dark almond eyes, black nose and scissor bite. Unfortunately he was quite skittish and he wouldn’t let me go over his body, so was unable to assess. His movement was also a bit erratic and he couldn’t settle.
