 The Keeshond Club Open Show 25/01/2025

I would like to thank the Officers & Committee for the kind invitation to judge the Show and for their warm welcome and hospitality throughout the day. Many thanks also to my 2 efficient Stewards Karen & John and to the exhibitors for showing your dogs on the day.

BABY PUPPY DOG (1:0) 1st: Bennett’s ZANDVOORT MR SUNSHINE

A 4 month old confident and playful puppy with everything in the right place for his age. Head of correct proportions with a dark eye and muzzle. Compact in shape carrying typical puppy coat. A promising puppy. BBPIS

MPD (2:1) 1st. Mathews, Mathews & Lee’s VALINDALE A TOUCH OF ROYALE

6 month old who is compact with good head properties , dark almond shaped eyes and well shaped ears. His body is well developed for his age. As expected, his movement was very exuberant but when he did settle he showed off his lovely shape in profile.

PD (1:0) 1st Church’s VOILA SOUL SEARCHING FOR TYKEES (Imp FRA)

Compact & balanced 9 month old with attractive coat shadings. He has wedge shaped head with well shaped ears, dark eye and dark muzzle and defined stop. Straight forelegs and good width of chest and depth of brisket with a level back and high set tail. His movement is brisk and sound. Well handled and presented. Very promising puppy. RBPIS.

JD (2:0) 1st Johnstone & Atkinson’s WINKELSTAR NAMID.

A Youngster with a square outline and good coat markings . He has a well proportioned wedge shaped head sporting dark ears and muzzle correct shaped eyes and spectacles. He has a neck of moderate length with a ruff developing ,level back, sloping shoulders, straight forelegs and round tight feet. Preferred his size & balanced to the winner.

2nd Miles, Dean, Cullen & Cullen SKYLINE’S OUTLANDER AT LEKKERBEK (Imp USA)

Compact well bodied 16 month old with a profuse coat. Wedge shape head with a dark muzzle, and definite stop. He has a good depth of brisket, well sprung ribs and well- muscled HQ’s. Moved well in profile with a short brisk action.

LD (4:2) 1st Downes LIEFKEES ASSISI JW.

A balanced compact dog with defined coat markings & shadings. Good head properties with dark muzzle , dark almond shaped eyes with defined spectacles. A moderate length of neck, level back and well sloped shoulders. He is well bodied with good depth of brisket and muscular HQ’s and round feet. He has an attractive marked coat of a good texture with a large ruff.

2nd Pattison’s QUEST’ EASTKEES DEL MONTE DRAGONE (Imp ITA)

4 year old compact dog with well defined coat shadings with dense ruff. He has a wedge shaped head with ears of a good size & shape, dark eye and dark muzzle. Moderate length of neck with a level back and muscular HQ’s. Moves with a brisk action keeping his shape in profile.

OD: (5:1) 1s Brunt’s CH. DIVNYL DRUG DAR (Imp RUS)

A lovely balanced compact dog with a profuse harsh coat with black guard hairs and dense ruff. Correct head proportions with a flat skull, well set ears, dark eye, defined spectacles, dark muzzle and good pigment. He has a strong neck, well sloped shoulders, level back and a high set tail which he carries well over his back. His forelegs are straight with good feathering and tight round feet. His movement is sound and brisk keeping his shape on the move. RBD & RBIS

2nd Marshall’s ARABESQUE AT DEVONIA (Imp RUS)

6 year old compact dog with a profuse cost and defined shading. Good head properties with well defined spectacles, well set ears and dark muzzle. He has a moderate length neck, level back, firm loin and muscular HQ’s which are covered in profuse coat .He moves around the ring in a clean brisk action keeping a balanced outline. Well handled.

3rd Mathews, Mathews & Lee CH. WINKLESTAR DENEB AT VALINDALE

2 year old with a balanced outline with good head proportions, dark eyes with desired spectacles and a dark muzzle. He is well bodied with good depth of brisket, spring of rib and firm loin. He has a profuse coat with a dense ruff. His movement is sound .

VD (4:0) 1st Hickson’s CH. KICHIGAI’S ONLY THE LONELY

9 year old in great condition for his age. He is compact with a square outline and good head proportions. His head has a flat skull with defined stop and correct shaped ears, dark eyes, well defined spectacles all framed with a dense ruff. Good spring of rib, strong loin, good width of chest and depth of brisket with straight forelegs, well-muscled HQ’s and round feet. He has well defined coat shading & dark guard hairs. His movement is light and brisk . BIS & BVIS.

2nd Miles & Dean’s CH. NERADMIK FAMILY AFFAIR WITH LEKKERBEK.

A balanced compact 12 year old with a profuse well marked coat. A wedge shaped head with a dark muzzle and eye and desired spectacles. He has a well- conditioned body with a level back, spring of rib and firm loin. His movement was sound & brisk.

3rd Bennett’s BYQUY RICH GENT

10 year old compact and square in outline. He has a wedge shaped head with good length of muzzle, dark eye and defined spectacles. Strong neck, good depth of brisket and well sprung ribcage. He has a harsh coat with a dense ruff. Moved soundly

MPB (1:0) 1st Tew’s BARGEWAY CRYSTAL CLEAR

8 month old with a lovely outline & size with a well marked attractive coat. She has a feminine head with dark eyes and muzzle. She has moderately long neck, level back and firm loin. She is advanced in body with a good width of chest and spring of rib, well-muscled HQ’s and round tight feet. She moved around the ring with a light brisk action . Should have a bright future. Delighted to award her BPIS

JB (3:0) 1st Tew’s BARGEWAY BREEZE ON BY

A balanced compact b. with good head properties with dark eyes with defined spectacles and dark ears of a correct size & shape. She has a wide chest, well ribbed level back and good tail carriage. She has straight forelegs with well-muscled HQ’s and tight round feet. Attractive coat markings & shading.

2nd Brunt’s ZANDVOORT MOONLIGHT

Compact with a square outline carrying a well marked profuse coat and ruff. She has a wedge shaped head with dark eyes, good ear placement. She has a neck of a good length, level topline, depth of brisket and well sprung ribs, Very close up to the winner.

3rd Pattison’s EASTKEES AMBER MOON

13 month old with square outline and feminine head. She has a wedge shaped head with dark eye, defined spectacles & stop. Her neck is of a moderate length with level topline and firm loin. Would like just a little more width in forechest. She carries a coat of good texture with a dense ruff . Moved with a sound brisk action.

PGB (3:0) 1st Brunt’s ZANDVOORT GRACE’S SECRET

Lovel compact balanced b. with a harsh coat & dense ruff. Feminine head with a dark eye and defined spectacles. Well bodied with depth of brisket and good spring of ribs, level back & firm loin & muscular HQ’s. She moved with sound brisk action.

2nd Pattison’s EASTKEES LILY OF THE VALLEY

13 month old compact & balanced with a feminine head, dark almond shaped eyes, defined spectacles & good ear set. She has a good width of chest, spring of rib and straight forelegs. Her coat is of a good texture with defined markings. Moved soundly.

3rd Church’s TYKEES SOUL SEARCHING

21 month old with a balanced outline and wedge shaped head ,dark muzzle & defined stop. She is well bodied with a depth of brisket, spring of rib & well muscle HQ’s. She moved soundly.

LB (2:1) 1st Brunt’s GOLDGIN CHANEL (Imp RUS)

Compact with a square outline. She has a head of correct proportions with dark eyes and well set ears of a correct shape. She has a neck of moderate length, level topline and good tail set. She has good width of chest, spring of rib , well sloped shoulders and straight forelegs. Her coat is harsh with define colour shading. She moves with a straight brisk action, RBB

OB (6:2) 1st Marshall’s DEVONIA BLACK PEARL

Almost 5 years old. She is balanced with a square outline carrying a profuse coat and dense ruff. Feminine wedge shaped head with dark eyes, defined spectacles, well set ears & dark muzzle. She is well bodied with depth of brisket, spring of rib, straight forelegs & round feet. Her topline is level with a firm loin and good tail carriage . She moves briskly keeping her lovely shape in profile. BB & BOS.

2nd Redler’s CH. KEITAKEES YOU ARE MY WORLD.

3 year old compact b. with such a feminine head. Her head is well proportioned with dark almond shaped eyes, dark ears of the desired shape, defined stop & defined spectacles give her a lovely feminine expression. She is well bodied with a moderate length of neck and good tail carriage. She carries an attractive well marked profuse coat and dense ruff.

3rd Gregory’s CH. AMIKIRS LOVEALICIOUS JW.

A 4 year old with a square outline carrying a straight harsh coat. She has a feminine head with a dark eye & muzzle. She is well bodied with straight forelegs & round feet. Moved soundly with a brisk sharp action.

VB (3:1) 1st Gregory’s CH. AMIKIRS BUBBLELICIOUS JW

Almost 12 years old with a square outline who is good condition despite her age. Feminine head with well set ears and defined spectacles. Well bodied with level back, good tail carriage, straight forelegs and round feet. Moved well with a light brisk action.

2nd Marshall’s TORRIKEES MADE IN HEAVEN AT DEVONIA JW

10 year old who is balanced in shape with a profuse coat of a good texture & defined shading. Feminine head with level back, good depth of brisket and spring of rib, Moved soundly with a brisk action.
