1. Arnold-Stronge’s Wizabeanie One Key Monkey for Meemozett. Most promising dog pup of just 6 mths but not entirely settled on the day although this was his first show and we were in a very busy and noisy hall. Sturdily built and compact with correct neck, firm topline, ribbing carried well back and nice short loin. Attractive head with dome to forehead, marked stop, expressive round eyes, symmetrical ears, very good nostrils and good turn up to underjaw. He stands true in front and pleased when gaiting. Best Puppy and Reserve BOB.

1. Dowsett’s Ashiblack Baboushka for Tteswood. Typey 16 mth old bitch. Presenting a compact outline with correct length of neck for the breed, pretty good topline, good depth to chest, ribcage of good length and tail set high and of good carriage. Excellent head and expression with good skull and breadth to brow, marked stop, very good eyes, symmetrical ears, correct dentition and good underjaw. Soundly built both ends and stands well naturally. Moving freely and using herself as she goes. Harsh texture to coat. BOB.

1. Metcalf-Sault’s Cannwood Quiet Reflections. 5 yr old brindle bitch who pleased for bone and is feminine all through. She is a shade longer than the ideal but her neck is well set on, she is firm in topline and I liked her tail for both set and carriage. Pleasing head with defined stop, good eye and ear and correct dentition. She stands well naturally in front and has a good forechest. Moving freely with particularly good hind action. Harsh jacket.

1. Metcalf-Sault’s Cannwood Can’t Get Enough. Lively 4 yr old wheaten bitch who was good hands on. Very good neck, pretty good in topline, ribbing carried well back, firm loin and tail of pleasing set and carriage. Feminine headpiece with breadth to skull, good stop, expressive dark eyes, ears well carried and correct dentition. When settled she moved out well on the go around and is nice and firm when going away. Excellent texture to jacket. BOB.

Lines-Barrett & Barrett’s Abiqua Wild In My Blue Jeans. 2 yr old dog who pleased in outline with slightly arched neck of good length, firm backline, good depth to brisket, ribcage of good length and muscular loin but tail set and carriage not what I was looking for. Pleasing head and expression with flat skull, eyes of good colour, correct ears and scissor bite. He stands well naturally in front and when gaiting he moved out sufficiently but is a little closer going away. Would have liked a touch more covering. BOB.

1. Lancashire & O’Donnell’s Drishaun Autumnal King. 15 mth old gold dog who appealed for overall type and outline. Neck of good length, firm back of moderate length, good depth to brisket, muscular loin, prominent hip bones, correct croup and tail pleased for set and carriage. Attractive head with good length, expressive eyes of good colour, ears set on low and scissor bite. I liked his angles front and rear and he was so good on the go around, carrying himself with style. Very well handled. Reserve BOB.
2. Lloyd & Webster’s Yassir Del Ghyryo (Imp Bel). 7 mth old black/tan dog who I thought most promising. He was so good hands on given his correct construction and presented a nicely balanced outline. Excellent neck, firm topline, rib developing well for age, prominent hip bones, correct croup and tail is set on low and of good carriage. Most appealing head and expression with good length to skull, dark eyes of good colour and placement, ears set on low and scissor bite. Good angles front and rear and stands on correct feet. Pleasing action and carriage. Best Puppy and later made the shortlist in the puppy group.
3. Kirk-Vickers & Hughes’ Istani Liza Minnelli

1. Kirk & Williams’ Istani Omar Sheriff JW. 2 yr old cream dog. Masculine lad who has an excellent neck, is nice and deep in brisket and pleased in ribbing but he has a touch more length of loin than preferred. Attractive headpiece with good length to skull, dark expressive eyes, ears set on low and correct dentition. He stands true in front and is well angulated behind. When gaiting, he has excellent drive from the rear and pleased coming towards, however he was reluctant to use his tail. Good quality coat.

1. Lancashire & O’Donnell’s Ch Drishaun Baby’s In Black JW. 2 yr old black/tan dog who was a delight to go over and he presented a super picture. Strong neck of correct length to balance, firm back, excellent ribbing, breadth to loin, prominent hip bones, correct croup and ring tail which is just right for set and carriage. Super head and expression with good length to skull mounted by characteristic top-knot, excellent eye and ear, strength to jaws and correct dentition. Well built both front and rear, standing true in front on good feet and coming into his own when gaiting with excellent ground coverage and carriage. First class coat and presentation. An easy BOB here today and later had the pleasure of awarding him Group 1. Delighted to hear he went on to take BIS.
2. Kellet’s Geordele Born Free. 4 yr old gold dog who was well handled here. Long neck, firm backline with good depth to brisket, muscular loin but hip bones could be more prominent, pleasing croup and tail set on low. Pleasing head and expression with skull of good length, dark eyes of correct placement, ears set on low and well back on the skull, good top-knot and scissor bite. He stands nice and straight in front and has the desired large feet of the breed. Moving out well when viewed in profile but not the overall carriage and style of winner when gaiting.

1. Allenby’s Revenite Sergeant Wilson for Rangali. 6 mth old dog who very much appealed. Only a baby but I thought him an excellent type and he presented a super outline which is where he scored here today. Muscular neck of correct length to give balance, firm through the topline, ribbing carried well back and tail set on high and of good carriage. Most attractive head with good skull, moderate stop, excellent eye and ear and correct scissor bite. I liked his angulation front and rear and he moved out with excellent carriage on the go around. Best Puppy and Reserve BOB and later took Puppy Group 2.
2. Leech’s Mochras Mahlord Rupert. 11 mth old dog who I did very well for back in the Summer. Today, he appears to be going through the teenager stage and wasn’t as settled in topline. Having said that, he pleased for type, is all male and carries nice bone. Muscular neck, ribbing extends well back, firm loin and tail set on high which he carries correctly. Pleasing head proportions; moderate dome to skull, expressive oval-shaped eyes, ears set on level with the eyes and of good length and correct dentition. Pleasing angles front and rear and moved out on the go around and firm when going away. Harsh coat.

2. Sharp & Martin’s Shiroblam Step To It Jomaroski. 2 yr old bitch who also has much to like and is well constructed. Sufficient length to neck, firm through the topline, well rounded ribcage but ribbing could extend a little further back, tail set on high and of correct carriage. Most attractive head and expression with good skull, moderate stop, oval-shaped eyes, ears of correct set and scissor bite. I liked her angles both ends and she stands true in front and has good feet. Moving freely all through and well handled here.

Correct moderately short neck, firm level back, ribcage of good length, muscular loin and tail set on high and of pleasing carriage. Nicely proportioned head which is full of femininity; moderate dome to skull, oval-shaped eye, ears set on correctly and good dentition. She stands true in front on very good feet and when gaiting, she has a good stride on the go around and is very good coming towards. Harsh coat. BOB.

1. Melbourne & Murray’s Diheath Cracker. 11 mth old tricolour dog. This pup has lots to like and presented a lovely outline with well arched neck of good length, firm backline, ribbing carried well back, muscular loin and stern well set on. Masculine head with good skull, pleasing proportions and planes, expressive eyes, ears set on low and of good length and correct dentition. Strong hindquarters which give powerful driving action and he pleased on the go around. Front action ok. Best Puppy and Reserve BOB and later made the puppy group shortlist.
2. Pearson’s Amazing White A Story With A Tail at Armardio (Imp Nld) JW. 15 mth old red/white bitch. This girl very much appealed for overall type and is so well constructed. Muscular neck which is well arched, topline could be firmer to advantage, well rounded ribs, broad well-muscled loin and stern set on well. Feminine headpiece of good proportions and super expressive eyes, ears set on low and correct dentition. I liked her angles front and rear and she stands true in front with an excellent forechest. Moving freely.

1. Pearson’s Armardio Wind of Change JW. 3 yr old red/white bitch. Feminine throughout, this girl pleased for type, was so good hands on and presented a well balanced outline. Neck of good length, firm through the topline, ribbing well rounded and of good length, muscular loin and stern set on well and of good carriage. Most attractive head with good proportions and planes, expressive eyes of correct shape, ears set on low and of good length, well open nostrils and scissor bite. She scored in forechest over 2 and when gaiting she pleased on the go around and is good when coming towards. BOB.
2. Melbourne & Murray’s Diheath Chekov JW. 2 yr old red/white dog who has much to like. Neck of good length to balance, firm level back, muscular loin and stern set on well but not quite forechest or ribbing of winner. Well proportioned head with masculine expression; expressive eyes of good colour, ears of good length which are set on low and correct scissor bite. Moves out on the go around with good carriage and also pleased fore and aft.

1. Hardisty’s Blunderhall Heaven Scent. Rather varied class with some quite different pups present. For me, this 9 mth old tricolour bitch was the best overall package. Slightly arched neck, firm straight back, good length to ribcage, nice short loin and stern set on well and of good carriage. Feminine headpiece with good proportions, defined stop, expressive eyes placed well apart, good ears for length and set and scissor bite. Pleasing angles front and rear and she stands on well boned forelegs with very good feet. Moving freely.
2. Dawson & Goodall’s Rundle Rambler. 10 mth old tan/white dog. Pleasing neck, firm back but with a touch more length, rib developing as it should and stern set on high and carried well. Nicely proportioned head with good stop, eye and ear but not overall expression of winner. Carrying good bone, he stands on nice tight feet and moved out well on the go around and is true coming towards but 1 had the edge going away.

1. Hardisty’s Blunderhall Jackson JW. Year old tricolour dog who was a comfortable winner in this class for me and he was so good hands on. Of pleasing type, he presents a nice compact outline with slightly arched neck, firm level back, brisket reaches the elbows, short in the couplings and stern is correct for set and carriage. Attractive headpiece with good skull to muzzle proportions, expressive eyes of good colour and placement, ears set on just right and correct dentition. He is well made both front and rear, stands true in front on nice tight feet and moved out freely with good carriage. BOB and later made the group shortlist.
2. Beard’s Kellitcreed Mrs Doubtfire. 6 mth old tricolour dog who I thought was quite outstanding in body and construction. Compact in outline with excellent neck, firm level back, ribcage of good length and developing just as it should for age, short loin and stern set on high and of correct carriage. Head of good proportions, ears correct for length and set and scissor bite but eyes not quite what I was looking for. When gaiting, he is accurate on the down and back and goes so well when viewed in profile with a super length of stride. Best Puppy.
3. Rimmer’s Braveair Inner Peace

1. Cooper’s Clarismore Witching Hour. Heft lad of two years standing alone here. Muscular neck, firm topline, good depth to brisket and ribbing carried well back. Masculine headpiece of good proportions with pretty good eye, ears set a touch higher, wide open nostrils and good dentition but expression not quite what I was looking for. He stands on excellent feet and moved pretty well on the go around.

1. Rimmer’s Braveair Clover’s Magic. 2 yr old tricolour bitch who has lots to like, was good hands on and presented a lovely outline. Slightly arched neck, firm through the topline, excellent ribbing, good depth to chest, nice and short in the loin and stern correct for both set and carriage. Balanced head with feminine expression; slightly domed skull, eyes placed well apart, ears set on low and correct dentition. She has good angles front and rear and stands true in front on very good feet. On the move she has a good stride on the go around and is true behind but could be cleaner coming towards. Reserve BOB.
2. Keepence & Keyte’s Redcap Northern Lights over Alandobel JW. 8 yr old bitch who is nicely balanced. Neck of good length, firm in topline, well sprung ribs, good depth to brisket, muscular loin and stern set on well. Feminine head with good skull to muzzle proportions, pleasing eye and ear and wide open nostrils. When gaiting, she was true coming towards and although she moved out well when viewed in profile, the winner had the edge.

1. Woodcock’s Abbotsoak A Lil Bit Naughty. 12 mth old bitch who pleased for type and presented a nicely balanced outline. Long, lean neck, firm back, correct depth to brisket for the breed, nice short loin, correct croup and tail set on low. Well proportioned head with feminine expression; very good eye and ear, strength to jaws and scissor bite. She stands on very good feet and when gaiting, she pleased on the go around with good length of stride, is firm when going away and ok coming towards.
2. Vescan’s Peacemaker Apache Baltas Vejas (Imp Ltu). 17 mth old dog who is well balanced with neck of good length, level back, pleasing rib development but a little deeper in brisket, short in the couplings, sloping slightly from the pin bones as desired and tail set on low. Head of good proportions with masculine expression but a tad rounder in eye, ears are of good size and placement and correct dentition. Moves well on the go around but could be cleaner in front.
3. Woodcock’s Abbotsoak Miss Honey

1. Woodcock’s Abbotsoak Summer Nights. 17 mth old bitch who has lots to like, appealing for type, full of femininity and balanced in outline. Long, slightly arched neck, firm topline, correct depth to chest, nice and short in the couplings, prominent pin bones and tail of good length and correct set. Feminine headpiece with approximately equal skull to muzzle lengths, excellent ears for size and set, expressive eyes and scissor bite. Moves very well when viewed in profile, nice and firm when going away and ok coming towards.
2. Woodcock’s Abbotsoak Miss Honey. 12 mth old who wasn’t entirely settled in the first class but went much better here. She is worth persevering with as she has much to like. She presented a lovely outline with slightly arched neck of good length to balance, firm level back, correct depth to chest, ribbing carried well back, short loin, slight slope to croup and tail set on low. Nicely proportioned head with flat skull, good eye and ear, strength to muzzle and correct dentition. Good length of stride when viewed in profile.
3. Nicholls’ Willow (Imp Esp)

1. Taylor’s Ch Abbotoak Carousel JW ShCEx OSW. 7 yr old bitch right out of the top drawer. She was so good hands on and I thought her an excellent type. She is finely built, tall and narrow as required and presents a super outline with neck of good length, level back, correct ribbing, short in the couplings, correct croup and tail set on low. Most attractive head with long, flat skull, expressive almond-shaped eyes, large ears, lean jaws and scissor bite. She stands true in front on very good feet and is correctly angulated both ends. On the move, she is a joy with her correct extended trot and stylish carriage. BOB and later took Group 4 in a top quality group. She was also my winner of the AV Hound Veteran class.
2. Vescan’s Gorgona De Entresaltos (Imp Esp). 4 yr old bitch who pleased in outline with a slightly arched neck of correct length to balance, firm level back, pleasing ribbing, correct croup and tail of good length and set on low. Feminine headpiece with long, flat skull, large ears and muzzle proportionate in length to that of skull but not overall expression of 1. I liked her angles both ends and she has a good stride on the go around but wasn’t quite as good going away as winner.

1. Whitehead & Smith’s Citycroft Lone Star. 6 mth old fawn bitch. Beautifully balanced pup who took some time to settle and I found out later this was her first show. Excellent neck which is elegantly arched and flows smoothly into well laid shoulders, good depth to brisket, arch over the loin leading to low set tail which she carries correctly. Balanced headpiece with the best of eyes, good underjaw and scissor bite. She stands true in front on well arched oval-shaped feet and comes into her own when gaiting and was a delight to watch on the go around. Best puppy and also Reserve BOB and later took Puppy Group 3 in what was a lovely puppy group.
2. Jones’ Southpoint Yesterday at Pennybeck Naf Taf. 7 mth old brindle/white bitch who initially I thought would take the class. She pleased for type and is well balanced with a lovely neck, correct topline, good depth to chest, arch over the loin and tail pleased for both set and carriage. Feminine head of good proportions, very nice eye and ear and scissor bite. She stands well naturally on very good feet and on the move, she was accurate on the down and back and although she pleased on the go around, the winner had the edge.
3. Perkins’ Silkridge Figgy Pudding with Zeglynn

1. Lloyd’s Penwincoed Mr Magoo JW. 17 mth old blue brindle dog who comfortably took first place here. Soundly constructed and good hands on. Long, well arched neck, firm topline, ribbing well sprung and brisket reaching the elbows, arch over the loin and tail good for set and carriage. Attractive head and expression with good proportions, oval-shaped eyes placed well apart, rose-shaped ears and good dentition. I liked his angles front and rear and he gaited freely on the down and back and also pleased on the go around. BOB.
2. Ryan’s Riocife Moonology. 7 mth old brindle/white dog. This youngster also pleased for soundness, having good angulation both ends, standing true in front on correct feet and was accurate when coming and going. Neck of good length, correct topline, arch over the loin and tail good for set and carriage but brisket is still to fully develop for which he has plenty of time. Masculine head of good proportions, expressive eyes, rose-shaped ears and scissor bite.
3. Perkins’ Zeglynn Bee Liever

1. Lloyd’s Penwincoed Betty Boop. 17 mth old fawn white bitch who turned out to be the litter sister of the previous class winner. Balanced girl with good length of neck, firm backline and correct arch over the loin, tail set on low and of correct carriage. Head of correct proportions with feminine expression; rose-shaped ears, oval-shaped eyes, good underjaw and scissor bite. Pleasing angles front and rear, straight forelegs and standing on very good feet. She moves freely on the down and back and opened up well when viewed in profile.
2. Skinner’s Whitesquall Mionetto. 2 yr old brindle/white bitch who also has much to like. Nicely arched neck, pleasing topline, deep through the brisket, correct arch over the loin leading to low set tail which is carried just as required. Feminine headpiece with equal skull to muzzle lengths, slight stop, pleasing eye and ear and correct mouth. She has pleasing angles both ends but just felt the winner had the edge. Standing true in front with good fill and moving freely.
3. Owen’s Crosscop Just A Friend

1. Lloyd’s Jothryn Beyond Blonde avec Penwincoed. 3 yr old fawn/white bitch who won this class with ease for me. She pleased for outline with neck of good length, muscular back, good depth to chest, arch over the loin, correct croup and tail pleasing for both set and carriage. Well proportioned head with attractive expression, perfectly roofed ears, eyes placed well apart and correct dentition. She stands straight in front but with a touch more width. Pleasing length of stride.
2. Vaughan-Wall’s Shirotae Paws For A Song. 5 yr old fawn/white bitch. Arched neck of good length, pleasing topline, correct croup and tail set but would like to see more depth to chest and better fill in front. Nicely balanced head with correct ears, slight stop and scissor bite. She stands true in front and has correct feet for the breed. Pleasing stride when viewed in profile but winner had the edge.

1. Huikeshoven & Allenby’s Jour Apres Jour Twice As Nice. 10 mth old Basset Griffon Vendeen (Petit) bitch. Quality pup who excels for type and was a delight to go over. Neck of good length, level topline, ribbing carried well back, muscular loin and tail set on well and of correct carriage. Head of correct proportions with feminine expression; oval-shaped eyes, ears set on just right, defined stop and scissor bite. She stands true in front and pleased for forechest. On the go around, she opens up well and has excellent carriage. Best Puppy AVNSC Hound, Reserve Best AVNSC Hound and later Puppy Group 4.
2. Lerego’s Tecklegarth Manon*. Otterhound bitch of 7 mths who pushed the winner all the way. She has a superb temperament and is soundly constructed all through. She presented a balanced outline with long neck, firm backline, ribbing developing well, nice short loin and stern set on well and of pleasing carriage. Super head and expression; excellent eye and ear, strength to muzzle and correct dentition. When gaiting, she was accurate coming and going and has a lovely stride when viewed in profile.
3. Watson & Kenna’s Cynetkoy Double Trouble

1. McLoughlin’s Amenediels Eyes On The Prize with Zantescwtch. Two pleasing bitches competed here with the win going to this 14 mth old Bavarian Mountain Hound. She appealed for type and presented a lovely outline with strong neck of moderate length, firm topline, brisket reaches the elbows, ribcage of good length, muscular loin and tail pleased for set and carriage. Attractive head with good skull to muzzle proportions, very good eye and ear, well defined stop and correct dentition. She stands on well arched oval feet and moved out with excellent ground coverage.
2. Porter’s Ottaryx Cobweb (AI). 14 mth old Otterhound bitch who is a real livewire and obviously loves life! She presented a well balanced outline with a neck of good length, firm level back, brisket of good depth, ribbing extends well back, well-muscled loin and tail good for set and carriage. Feminine headpiece with good skull and proportions, expressive eyes, ears set on level with the eyes and of good length and correct dentition. I liked here angles front and rear and she stands true in front on compact feet. Gaiting freely on the down and back.

1. Dawson’s Stubbylee at Sunrise JW. 18 mth old Borzoi bitch. Soundly constructed girl who is full of femininity. She presented a pleasing outline with slightly arched neck of good length, correct topline for the breed, good depth to chest, correct croup and tail of good set and carriage. Well proportioned head with narrow skull, minimal stop, expressive dark almond-shaped eyes, roman nose and scissor bite. She has good angles front and rear and moved freely when viewed in profile with elegant carriage and was so very well handled.
2. Lerego & Single-Bloom’s Tecklegarth Maude*. 7 mth old particolour Otterhound bitch who also appealed and was unlucky to come up against the winner. She is so very well balanced with an excellent neck, firm through the topline, ribbing carried well back and developing just as it should for age, muscular loin and tail pleased for set and carriage. Best of heads with most appealing expression; super eye and ear, depth to muzzle and scissor bite. Well boned, she has good angles front and rear and certainly didn’t disappoint when gaiting.
3. Porter’s Ottaryx Chaos (AI)

1. Dalgarno’s Ch Vencharno Stuck On You, 3 yr old Basset Griffon Vendeen (Petit). Carrying good bone and all male, this lad was so good hands on and he presented a very good outline. Muscular neck of good length to balance, firm through the topline, good length to ribcage with ribbing well developed and tail set on well and of good carriage. Well proportioned head with expressive oval-shaped eyes, ears pleased for length and set, square muzzle and scissor bite. He has good angles front and rear and stands well in front on very good feet. Moving freely all through and using himself at all times. Very well handled. Best AVNSC Hound and later made the Group shortlist.
2. Dawson’s Mischran The Sequel for Stubbylee JW. 2 yr old Borzoi dog who pushed the winner all the way. He presented such a good outline with slightly arched neck of good length, topline rising in graceful curve as desired, good depth to brisket, powerful loins, correct croup and tail set on rather low and of good carriage. Most attractive head with narrow skull of good length, expressive almond-shaped eyes, muzzle proportionate in length to that of skull and correct dentition. He stands nice and straight in front and moved with style.

1. Skaboullos’ Cunninghams Aveline for Trailtracker (Imp Deu). 19 mth old Black & Tan Coonhound bitch. One I have judged previously and she just seems to be getting better with age. Feminine throughout, she presents a lovely outline with the best of necks, firm through the topline, brisket reaches the elbows, ribbing carried well back, well-muscled loin and tail pleased for both set and carriage. Balanced headpiece with good planes, expressive eyes, ears of good length and set on low and correct dentition. Well laid shoulders, straight well boned forelegs and standing on excellent feet. Gaiting freely on the down and back and opens up well on the go around with excellent carriage. Best AV Imported Breed Register Hound and later took Group 3.

2. Bailey & Yates’ Ch Tarmachan Ice Cool JW. 9 yr old Basset Griffon Vendeen (Grand). Soundly constructed lad who I have met before. Masculine headpiece with domed skull, well defined stop, expressive oval-shaped eyes, ears set on low and of good length and slightly roman nose as desired. I would liked a touch more length of neck but he is nice and firm in topline, is well ribbed back, muscular in loin and tail is set on high and carried correctly.
