Cairn Terrier

JD/B (3,1)

1. Munday’s Furythor Reluctant Villain. Two very different dogs competed here. My winner was this 15 mth old dog who scored here on the move. Pleasing neck, firm level back, muscular loin and tail good for set and carriage. Ribbing still to fully develop. Masculine head with breadth to skull, dark eyes, very good ears and scissor bite. Pleasing angles front and rear with nice free action and using himself as he goes. BOB.

2. Felters & Rumens’ Landbuck Amethyst. 13 mth bitch who really appealed for overall type and is feminine all through. Neck of sufficient length, level topline, good length to ribcage, muscular loin and tail set on correctly. I thought her head and expression quite delightful with super eye and ear, powerful muzzle and good dentition. She stands true on good feet but would have liked a better length of stride on the go around. Very good jacket.

1. Griffiths’ Wonderpaws Obi Wan Kenobi. 21 mth old dog. Promising youngster who makes the most of himself at all times. Carrying good bone he was pleasing to go over. Muscular neck, firm topline, ribbed well back and tail good for set and carriage. Broad skull, defined stop, eyes of good colour and scissor bite. Pleasing angulation both ends and stands well naturally. Moves true but a little exaggerated in front such is his exuberance. Reserve BOB.

1. Munday’s Furythor Marvel At Me. 2 yr old bitch who appealed for type. She’s a little longer cast but pleasing to go over and of sound construction. Neck well set on, firm level topline, pleasing rib and tail good for set and carriage. Feminine headpiece with lovely expression; good skull, definite stop, super eye, ears of correct set and good dentition. Moving soundly but giving her handler a hard time today.

2. Lund’s Cairngold Brandy Snap at Jorvikairn. 7 yr old bitch who was pleasing to go over. Beginning to show her age but I thought her a good type and she is feminine throughout. Correct length of neck to balance, level back, ribbed well back, short loin and tail set on correctly. Sufficient breadth to skull, defined stop, pleasing eye and ear and scissor bite. Moving pretty well all through.

3. Munday’s Lentrica Mystic Warrior

Lakeland Terrier

1. Blow’s Jodean Tennesse at Coppatrota. 2 yr old dog. Smart lad standing alone here but more than worthy of company. He presented a compact outline with clean, reachy neck, firm back, very good rib, short in the couplings and tail set on well. Quality head with keen expression; flat skull, super eye and ear, strength to muzzle and good dentition. He stands well naturally on very good feet and uses himself at all times. Moving true on the down and back with excellent carriage. Very well presented and handled. BOB. Pleased to see he went on to take BIS.

Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier

1. Satherley, Satherley & Bye’s Silkcroft Crystal Ball (AI). 10 mth old bitch pup. Quality youngster who was so good hands on. Totally feminine, she pleased in outline with slightly arched neck of correct length to give balance, level topline, ribbing developing well, good through the couplings and tail set on high. Most pleasing head with flat skull, good proportions, expressive eyes, correct ears and scissor bite. Pleasing angles both ends and goes so well in profile. Just needs to tighten in front but she has plenty of time on her side.

PGD/B (1,0)

1. Satherley, Satherley & Bye’s Silkcroft Perfect Symmetry (AI). 10 mth old dog who I see is littermate to the winner of the previous class. This youngster greatly appealed and I thought him an excellent type and he was a delight to go over. Muscular neck of good length, level back, ribcage carried well back, firm loin and tail good for both set and carriage. Quality headpiece with flat skull, expressive eyes of good colour, ears just right, parallel planes and scissor bite. He was first in line when construction was being dished out and he was a pleasure to watch gaiting in all directions and he used himself to advantage. BOB & Best Puppy and thrilled to see he went on to take BPIS.

OD/B (2,1)

1. Clarke’s Flaxela Illuminati (AI) JW. 3 yr old dog. A bigger lad but all male and pleased hands on. He presented a balanced outline with muscular neck of good length, firm level topline, excellent ribbing and tail set on well. Masculine head with good skull and proportions and strength to muzzle. He carries good bone, is solid all through and stands well naturally. When gaiting, I felt he could have been moved out at a tad more pace to his advantage, he was nice and true when going away but front action could not compete with that of the dog pup. Good quality coat. Reserve BOB.
