1. Collier’s Jayanel Alfabeti Spageti. Well-boned dog of 10 mths who appealed for type and presented a well-balanced outline. He has an excellent neck, is firm through the topline, ribbing developing well for age, muscular loin and tail pleased for set and carriage. Masculine headpiece with good skull, defined stop, super eye and ear and muzzle of pleasing length. Soundly constructed all through and he stands on good feet. When gaiting, he was free when coming and going and on the go around opens up well and has excellent carriage. Reserve BOB & Best Puppy.

OD/B (1,0)

1. Cooper’s Ch Jayanel Peppermint Patty. Quality 4 yr old bitch who I thought an excellent type and she was so good hands on. She presented a lovely outline with neck of good length to balance, firm level topline, good depth to brisket, excellent ribbing, muscular loin and tail set on high and of correct carriage. Feminine head and expression with excellent skull, oval-shaped eyes of good colour, ears of good length and set on low and correct dentition. Soundly built both front and rear and she stands true in front on good feet and has an excellent forechest. Super on the go around with such good carriage. BOB.

Basset Griffon Vendeen (Petit)

PD/B (1,0)

1. Robertson & Cadmore’s Soletrader Rudi Mental. 11 mth old dog who is full of quality but still with lots of maturing to do. He appealed for overall type and presented an excellent outline with neck of good length, firm level back, rib developing as it should, well-muscled loin and tail pleased for both set and carriage. Well proportioned head with a super expression; oval-shaped eyes of good colour, ears correct for length and set and scissor bite. Good angles front and rear and he stands straight in front on good feet and has a pleasing forechest. When gaiting, he moved true on the down and back and also pleased on the go around. Fabulous temperament. Reserve BOB.

OD/B (2,0)

1. Robertson’s Soletrader Fomo. Two quite different bitches competed in this class. My winner was this 11 mth old who was right out of the top drawer and I thought her so exciting. Of excellent type, carrying good bone, she was an absolute delight to go over. She presented a super outline with clean neck of good length, firm level topline, excellent rib for age, muscular loin and tail set on high and carried just right. Balanced headpiece with feminine expression; slightly domed skull, defined stop, the best of eyes and ears, strength to underjaw and scissor bite. As sound as they come, standing true in front on good feet and with a prominent sternum. She is quite something when moving, free both fore and aft and a sheer pleasure to watch on the go around and using herself fully as she goes. BOB & Best Puppy and pleased to hear she ended the day by taking Best Puppy in Show.

2. Reid’s Maudaxi Joanie Loves Chacha JW. This 2 yr old has an adorable temperament and is feminine all through. Out of a smaller mould than the winner she has a neck of good length, level topline, pleasing rib, muscular loin but with a touch more length and tail set on high and of correct carriage. Feminine head with correct proportions, ears good for length and set, oval-shaped eyes and scissor bite but overall preferred expression of winner. Pleasing construction both front and rear, elbows close to the body and she stands nice and straight in front. Gaiting freely all through and carries herself so well.

1. Milham’s Droyales One and Only at Shaddowshack. Two very different Shepherds competed in this class. This 16 mth old bitch came out on top and she was presented in excellent coat and condition and very well handled. Strong neck of good length to balance, firm slightly sloping topline, good depth to chest, ribbing carried well back and tail pleased for set and carriage. Feminine headpiece of good proportions with almond-shaped eyes, ears set on high and excellent dentition. Soundly built front and rear and standing straight in front on pretty good feet. Moves freely on the down and back and pleased on the go around too. BOB.

2. Landgren’s Yakasimba Bubbles. 12 mth Long Coat bitch. Neck of good length, topline not quite that of winner, correct croup and tail correct for set and carriage. Nicely proportioned head with feminine expression, almond-shaped eyes, ears set on high and correct dentition. Pretty good angles both ends but she is rather narrow in front right now, hopefully time will help here and also with her rib development. Goes ok on the go around but could not compete with overall action of winner.

1. Lloyd-Jones’ Africaner Sundown. 9 mth old dog who pleased in outline with clean neck of good length, firm topline, pleasing rib development for age but chest still to drop, muscular loin and tail of good carriage. Flat skull with breadth between the ears, expressive eyes placed well apart, ears of correct set and scissor bite. Pleasing angulation both ends and he stands nice and straight in front on compact feet. On the move, he opens up well when viewed in profile, is true behind and scored over 2 when coming towards. Good ridge. Best Puppy.

She pleased in outline with clean neck of good length to balance, firm topline, ribbing developing as it should for age, well-muscled loin and tail good for set and carriage. Feminine head with pleasing skull, expressive eyes, ears of correct set, clean lips and good dentition. She stands ok in front and has nice compact feet but she needs to fill in forechest which hopefully will come in time. Moving out on the go around but not as good as winner on the down and back. Excellent ridge.

Masculine headpiece with breadth to skull, round eyes which blend with coat colour, powerful muzzle and scissor bite. 1. Barnes’ Ch Diamondridge Kazembe Golden Age JW. Coming up to 3 yrs this girl very much appealed for overall outline and balance. Super neck, firm through the topline, good depth to chest, first class ribbing, powerful loin and tail good for both set and carriage. She has breadth of skull between her well set ears, pleasing eye, powerful muzzle and correct dentition. Soundly constructed all through and I particularly liked her front assembly, standing true on excellent feet and with a lovely forechest. Gaiting freely all through with excellent carriage and so very well handled here. BOB.

Feminine head with good skull, round expressive eyes, ears set on well, powerful muzzle and scissor bite. Very good angles front and rear and she stands well naturally on compact feet. Super neck, short back with slight slope to topline, ribbing developing well for age, short loin and tail pleased for set and carriage. Feminine headpiece but still to fully develop, pleasing skull and proportions, dark expressive eyes and good underjaw. She stands true in front on good feet but would like to see a little more breadth to chest. Moving pretty well all through.

3. Kelly’s Casemates Hagrid

JD/B (2,1)

1. Kelly’s Casemates Witch Time. 6 mth old brindle bitch who is very much a baby. She is square in outline with nicely arched neck of good length, firm topline but would like to see a little more slope, ribbing carried well back, short loin and tail set on high. Nicely proportioned head with feminine expression, distinct stop, pleasing eye and ear, wide open nostrils and good underjaw. Standing nice and straight in front on very good feet and she moved out well on the go around. Just needs time to fully develop and fill out.

PGD/B (3,1)

1. Longley’s Limkyns Moonlight Tango with Attomic. 2 yr old red bitch who was a comfortable winner in this class for me. She presented a nice square outline with muscular neck, firm topline, good depth to brisket and well-muscled loin. Feminine in head with pleasing skull, eyes of good colour and decent ears but could use more fill below the eyes. She has good bone and stands well in front with a good forechest and excellent feet. Moving out nicely on the go around and also pleased when coming and going.

2. Rolfe’s Melomigs Juniper. 2 yr old red who is square in outline, has a good length of neck, deep chest and is correct in topline with slight slope towards the rear. She pleased for bone and was presented with very good muscle-tone. Good skull and she has breadth to muzzle but not really the expression I was looking for. Standing nice and straight in front with a pretty good forechest and she has good feet. Would have liked to see her open up more on the go around when gaiting.

She carries good bone and pleased for outline and balance with neck of good length, excellent topline, good depth to brisket, short loin and tail set on high. Feminine headpiece but quite different in expression to winner; pleasing proportions, good eye and ear and width to underjaw. Pleasing angles both ends and she stands well naturally.
