Staffordshire Bull Terrier

PD/B (2,1)

1. Cockeram’s Bullybranch Clever Coal. 11 mth old dog who was very well handled here. Pleasing outline with muscular neck, firm level topline, ribbing carried well back but still to fully develop, nice short loin but tail carried a tad higher. Nicely proportioned head with correct eyes for shape and colour, strength to muzzle and excellent dentition. He stands on very good feet and has a pleasing action all through. Best Puppy and Reserve BOB.

1. Gold’s Wellsstaffs Take A Bow at Darramlor. 2 yr old bitch who I feel is still some way off maturity but she pleased for type and presented a well balanced outline. Rather short neck, level topline, ribbing carried well back, muscular loin and tail correct for set and carriage. Feminine head and expression; skull of good breadth, distinct stop, excellent eye and ear and short powerful muzzle. She stands well in front and moved freely on the down and back. BOB.

2. Rose’s Kodaknott Miracle Girl at Aurwilstaffs. 14 mth old bitch who is nicely balanced with correct length of neck, firm topline, well sprung ribs with ribcage extending well back, muscular loin and tail set on low. Strongly headed girl with breadth to skull, dark expressive eyes, correct ears, short muzzle and scissor bite. Well constructed forequarters and stands on good feet. Moves well in profile but just a tad wider going away.

1. Rose’s Kodaknotts Boo Hoo at Aurwilstaffs. Balanced 2 yr old bitch with correct length of neck for the breed, firm through the topline, well-muscled loin and correct tail for set and carriage but felt she carrying a touch too much weight on the day. Nicely proportioned head with distinct stop, expressive eyes, good ear and well developed cheeks. Pleasing angulation both ends and she stands with width in front on excellent feet. Moving well enough all through.

1. Pierpoint’s Chepam Grenadier. 22 mth old dog who is still some way from maturity but he very much appealed and was good hands on. All male, he presents such a good outline with slightly arched muscular neck, short firm back, good depth to brisket, short in the couplings and tail of correct set and carriage. Quality head and expression with flat skull, excellent eye and ear, breadth to his powerful muzzle and flat cheeks. Good angles both ends and standing true in front. Moves out with super free action when viewed in profile and carrying himself so well as he goes. Correct dry coat. BOB.

1. Sutton & Manning’s Abbiville Royal Black Duke at Bliksemhuis. Approaching 3 years this dog is out of a smaller mould. Neck of correct length, firm through the topline, good depth to chest, ribbing carried well back and muscular loin although with a touch more length. Pleasing skull, dark expressive eyes, flat cheeks, strength to muzzle and excellent dentition. When gaiting, he went very well on the go around and is true coming towards, just a tad closer going away. Correct dry un-kempt looking coat. Very well handled. Reserve BOB.

1. Willett’s Philoma The Professional. 14 mth old black dog. Super youngster who was so very well handled here. He presents such a good outline with an excellent neck, firm straight topline, good depth to chest, ribbing carried well back, muscular loin and tail just right for set and carriage. Masculine head with flat skull, dark oval-shaped eyes, ears set on high, moderate stop, strength to muzzle and scissor bite. Well laid shoulders, elbows close to the chest and stands true in front on compact feet. On the move, I thought he was quite outstanding on the go around. BOB.

1. Partner’s Draxpark Crowning Glory. 2 yr old black bitch who appealed for type, carries good bone and is solid all through. Strong muscular neck, straight topline, excellent ribbing, a touch more length to loin and tail pleased for set and carriage. Feminine head but with strength; excellent skull, moderate stop, expressive eyes, good ears, powerful muzzle and correct dentition. She moves out well when viewed in profile but could be cleaner coming towards. Good quality coat. Excellent temperament. Reserve BOB.

Basset Griffon Vendeen (Grand)

1. Marshall’s Claela Laughter Is Timeless with Soufriere. 11 mth old bitch who is feminine all through and I thought so good for overall type. She has a neck of good length, topline just needs to settle a tad but she has plenty of time, pleasing rib development for age, muscular loin and tail just right for set and carriage. Attractive head with good skull, defined stop, eyes of good colour, ears of correct set, good length to muzzle and scissor bite. Goes so well on the when viewed in profile, excellent hind action and pretty good coming towards. Good texture to jacket. Best Puppy.

1. Collier’s Jayanel Alfabeti Spageti. 13 mth old dog who I thought an excellent type and he was so well handled here. Muscular neck of good length, firm through the topline, deep in brisket, pleasing rib, well-muscled loin and tail correct for both set and carriage. Super headed lad with nicely domed skull, the best of eyes, ears of good length and set on low, defined stop, muzzle of good length and good dentition. He has good angles both front and rear and has excellent profile action and carriage and uses himself as he goes. Good quality coat. BOB and later went on to take Group 3.

1. Marshall’s Soufriere One Vision JW. 7 yr old bitch who was pleasing to go over and carries good bone. Neck of good length, excellent topline, correct ribbing which extends well back, muscular loin and tail good for both set and carriage. Feminine headpiece of correct proportions, domed skull, expressive oval-shaped eyes, ears set on low and good dentition. She is well developed in forechest and stands nice and straight in front. Gaiting freely on the down and back and has a pretty good length of stride. Reserve BOB.

2. Marshall’s Soufriere Paserelle Bateau. 4 yr old dog who is well off for bone, appealed for type and is of good size. Excellent neck, firm level topline, pleasing ribbing, well-muscled loin and tail set on high and of correct carriage. Masculine head with good skull, defined stop, dark oval-shaped eyes, ears good for length and set and wide open nostrils. Moves out very well when viewed in profile but somewhat closer when going away. Rough coat of good texture.

Basset Griffon Vendeen (Petit)

1. Osbourne’s Beaujons Wayne Sleep with Braego. 21 mth old dog who is certainly an exuberant chap. Balanced with pleasing neck, firm topline, ribbing carried well back, muscular loin and tail set on high with acceptable carriage. Head of good proportions with expressive oval-shaped eyes, ears set on just right and scissor bite. He carries good bone and stands well naturally in front. Moving freely with good carriage. Good texture to coat. Reserve BOB.

1. Bishop’s Jamar Miss Skylar. 3 yr old bitch who was well handled here. I would like a little more of her overall but she presented a balanced outline with pleasing neck, firm topline, short loin and tail correct for both set and carriage but could use more spring of rib. Feminine headpiece with pleasing skull, defined stop, oval-shaped eyes, ears of correct set and good dentition. Moving pretty well on the go around. Good coat texture.

1. Bishop’s Jamar Ina The Countessa. 6 yr old bitch who I though a good type and she was pleasing to go over. Muscular neck of good length, ribbing carried well back, topline ok, muscular loin and tail correct for both set and carriage. Attractive head of correct proportions with feminine expression; oval-shaped eyes of good colour, ears set on low, defined stop and scissor bite. She has good angulation both front and rear and when gaiting, she has a nice easy action on the go around. Harsh coat. BOB.

1. House & Hinchcliffe’s Cloudside Soul Prince for Jodak. 12 mth old black/cream Afghan Hound dog. Quality pup who was so well handled here. Beautifully balanced with good length of neck, firm topline, deep in brisket, muscular loin, correct croup and ring tail set on low and of good carriage. Masculine headpiece with good length to skull and muzzle, slight stop, expressive eyes of good colour, ears set on low and scissor bite. He has good angles both ends and stands well naturally in front. He impressed on the go around, opening up well and with such good carriage. Good quality coat and presentation. Best AVNSC Hound, Best AVNSC Hound Puppy and later topped my Puppy Group.

2. Sanders Parker’s Heart and Soul JP Nishwa Classicus (Imp) Taf. 6 mth old cream Saluki bitch. Only a baby but what a super girl she is. Totally feminine, she presents such a good outline with neck of good length, firm topline, pleasing rib development for age, correct croup and tail set on low and of good carriage. Most attractive head with good length, expressive oval-shaped eyes, ears of correct set and scissor bite. She is soundly constructed throughout, stands nice and straight in front on correct feet and certainly didn’t disappoint on the move where I thought he profile action quite exceptional. Reserve Best AVNSC Hound.

3. Rushforth’s Campionfield Scrumptious

1. Rushforth’s Campionfield Satisfaction. 15 mth old tricolour Beagle bitch who pleased for overall type and carries good bone. Neck of pleasing length but could flow more smoothly into withers, firm back, ribcage of good length and croup ok. Attractive head of good proportions, expressive eyes, ears set on low, wide open nostrils and correct dentition. She stands true in front on excellent feet and pleased for forechest too. Moving freely on the down and back.

1. Rushforth’s Charterwood Spangled Gold of Campionfield. 2 yr old tan/white Beagle bitch. This girl is feminine all through and appealed for type. Pleasing neck, firm through the topline, good depth to chest, ribs well sprung and muscular loin but falls off a tad at croup. Feminine headpiece of good proportions, defined stop, expressive eyes, ears good for length and set and scissor bite. She has pleasing bone and stands well naturally in front and has nice tight feet. Moving ok.

1. Morland’s Zoraden Gossip Girl JW. Blue brindle Whippet bitch approaching 2 yrs. Quality girl who caught my attention as soon as she entered the ring and she certainly didn’t disappoint hands on. She presented a super balanced outline and is free from any exaggeration. Elegantly arched neck of good length, firm back, brisket reaching the elbows, correct arch over the loin and tail set on low and of excellent carriage. Feminine headpiece of good length, the best of eyes and ears, slight stop and scissor bite. She stands true in front with good fill and has correct angulation both ends. On the go around she opens up well with a long easy stride and moves with style.

2. Cutter & Lubin’s Ina’s Fashion Halo over Chosovi (Imp Deu). 22 mth old dark brindle Greyhound bitch. This girl also greatly appealed and was a delight to go over. Balanced in outline with arched neck of good length which flows smoothly into well laid shoulders, firm through the topline, good depth to brisket, powerful loins, correct croup and tail pleased for both set and carriage. Most attractive head, full of femininity with flat skull of good length, slight stop, dark expressive eyes, rose-shaped ears and scissor bite. Well-muscled all through, she stands well naturally in front on very good feet and has a good turn of stifle. Impressed on the go around with nice length of stride and good carriage.

3. Collier’s Jayanel Alfabeti Spageti. Basset Griffon Vendeen (Grand)

4. Bailey’s Loggeta Establoomingsmall. 2 yr old red Miniature Smooth-Haired Dachshund bitch. Balanced girl with clean neck of good length, firm through the topline, ribbing carried well back, nice short loin and tail pleased for both set and carriage. Head of good skull to muzzle proportions, slight arch to muzzle, ears of correct set, eyes of good colour and ok for shape and correct dentition. She has good angulation both ends and stands well in front with prominent forechest. When gaiting, she opened up well on the go around and carried her tail correctly.

1. House & Hinchcliffe’s Cloudside Soul Prince for Jodak. Afghan Hound

2. Hodge’s Colkeririn To The Nines. 7 mth old wheaten Rhodesian Ridgeback bitch. This puppy very much appealed, feminine all through and so good hands on. She presented a lovely outline with each part flowing smoothly into the next; neck of correct length, firm through the topline, good length to ribcage and pleasing rib development for age, strength to loin and tail good for both set and carriage. Attractive head and expression; flat skull, good eye and ear, powerful muzzle and scissor bite. Soundly constructed both ends and moved freely on the down and back and opened up well when viewed in profile. Clearly defined ridge.

3. Crosse’s Cairnstorm Lullaby. 10 mth old Irish Wolfhound bitch. Feminine youngster who pleased for outline and balance with muscular neck of good length, firm through the topline, good depth to chest and tail of good length with correct carriage. She has a head of good length, expressive eyes of good colour, correct ears and scissor bite. Carrying good bone, I liked her angles front and rear and she stands well naturally in front on good feet. On the move she was free when coming and going and has a pleasing stride on the go around. Coat of good texture.

4. Samson’s Estet Classic Sherwood Tales of Romaclove (Imp Est). 7 mth old dark brindle Greyhound dog. This youngster presented a super outline with arched neck of good length, firm topline, good depth to chest for age, ribbing developing as it should, muscular loin and tail correct for both set and carriage. Head of good length with very nice expression; dark oval-shaped eyes, rose-shaped ears, correct stop and good dentition. Pleasing angulation front and rear and standing on good feet. He opened up well when viewed in profile and pleased when going away but just needs to firm a tad in front.

AV Hound Veteran (13,4)

1. Bailey’s Glasvey Double Trouble for Loggeta JW VW. Shaded red Long-Haired Dachshund bitch. This girl presented a lovely outline with good reach of neck, firm topline, ribbing carried well back, short muscular loin and tail correct for both set and carriage. Most attractive head, full of femininity, dark expressive eyes, ears set on well, correct muzzle and scissor bite. She has good angles both ends and stands well in front on good feet and pleased for forechest and keel. When gaiting she carries herself so well and has a very nice length of stride. She later went on to take Reserve Best Veteran in Show.

2. Watkinson’s Loggeta Boom and Bust. 8 yr old Miniature Smooth-Haired Dachshund bitch who pushed the winner all the way. She too is so good in outline with slightly arched neck of good length, firm topline, correct ribbing, short strong loin and tail pleased for set and carriage. Super head and expression with good proportions, dark almond-shaped eyes of correct set, ears set on high, slight arch to muzzle and good dentition. Soundly constructed all through, standing on good feet and gaiting freely.

AV Hound Puppy (9,8)

1. Nevison’s Bikquest Envy Blazingstar. 9 mth old red wheaten Rhodesian Ridgeback bitch. Pleasing pup who presented a nicely balanced outline with neck of good length, firm topline, ribbing carried well back and developing well for age, muscular loin and tail of correct length and carriage. Head of correct proportions with dark round eyes, ears are well set, correct wrinkling when alert and scissor bite. I liked her angulation front and rear and she stands well in front on excellent feet but needs time to fill in forechest. Moving out with good stride and carries herself well.

AV Hound Junior (4,3)

1. Collier, Collier, Collier & Cox’s Carlincox Knock Ya Socks Off. 17 mth old red wheaten Rhodesian Ridgeback dog. Carrying good bone, this youngster was presented with excellent muscle-tone and pleased for overall type. Muscular neck of correct length to balance, good depth to brisket and tail of correct length, set and carriage but just losing topline on the move. Masculine head of good proportions with flat skull, expressive eyes, powerful muzzle and scissor bite. He stands on excellent feet and moved ok all through. Clearly defined ridge. Well handled.

AV Good Citizen Dog Scheme Stakes (33)

1. Collier’s Kallierbelle Bluebelle. 5 yr old black spotted Dalmatian bitch. Feminine girl who was very well handled here. Neck of good length, well sprung ribs and muscular loin but tail carriage could be better. Most attractive head with feminine expression; flat skull of correct breadth, well broken ears which frame the face, nice dark oval-shaped eyes and scissor bite. Pleasing angulation front and rear and standing nice and straight in front on very good feet. Moving freely with good carriage. Good distribution of spots on a pure white background.

2. Hughes’ Arctictribes Strange Magic to Ukluk. 2 yr old Alaskan Malamute bitch. Moderately built girl with arched neck of good length, firm topline, ribbing carried well back and pleasing tail. Feminine headpiece with good skull, obliquely placed eyes, ears of good set but a little larger, strength to muzzle and good dentition. She stands on excellent feet and when gaiting is true behind and went pretty well on the go around. Good coat. Well handled.

1. Latheron & Trenchard’s Sh Ch Fynder Reacher ShCEx. Super Irish Water Spaniel dog of 4 yrs. All male, he is well off for bone, appealed for overall type and presented a balanced outline. Muscular neck which is nicely arched, short firm back, well sprung ribs, strength to loins and tail good for both set and carriage. Quality headpiece with expressive almond-shaped eyes, ears of correct set and strong muzzle. Well-muscled all through and with pleasing angles, standing true in front on good feet and firm hindquarters. When gaiting, he pleased on the go around and uses himself as he goes. Good quality coat.

2. Down’s Elessar Eclipse The Stars. 13 mth old Cardigan Corgi bitch. Not in full coat on the day but this girl presented a very nice outline and was good hands on. Muscular neck of correct length to balance, excellent topline, ribbing extends well back, firm loin and tail good for length, set and carriage. Feminine head with flat skull between her correctly set ears which are of good size, dark eyes, moderate stop, tapering muzzle of correct length and scissor bite. Correctly constructed forequarters, standing on very good feet and moved freely all through.

2. Benton’s Ch Brooklynson Jane Russell of Oakestelle VW ShCEx. 10 yr old sable Rough Collie bitch. One I have done well for before and today she still appealed. Totally feminine, she presents a lovely outline with correct length of neck, firm topline with slight arch over the loin, good depth to chest, correct ribbing and tail of good set and carriage. Most attractive head with flat skull, slight stop, parallel planes, excellent eye and ear and clean through the cheeks. She stands well naturally in front and has excellent feet. Pleasing length of stride when viewed in profile and still carrying herself well despite her advancing years.

Best Veteran in Show

Manners’ Ch Chadbower Nevaeh Lahetti VW. This 8 yr old Schipperke bitch is no stranger to me, having awarded her crowning CC at a Club Show a number of years back. Today, in the line-up for BVIS I thought her a stand-out. Small and cobby as desired, she has the correct length of neck for the breed, has a short firm back, excellent ribbing, short in the couplings and full tail of correct set and carriage. Quality head with fair breadth to her flat skull, minimal stop, the best of eyes and ears and correct dentition. She stands true in front on excellent feet and moved freely both fore and aft and in characteristic brisk fashion. Very well handled.
