Ruthin Canine Society

My thanks to the committee of Ruthin for the kind invitation to judge this lovely show, what a splendid venue with large rings and plenty of space for all. Thank you to my fabulous stewards and all of the exhibitors who entered and were so sporting on the day.

1. Edward’s Breaksea It’s Time at Nellsbrook

Very feminine bitch with a lovely balanced head, proportionate to her frame and a soft expression, with width to jaw. Well balanced all through, good bone without coarseness, length from the rib and a well muscled rear. Tail well set and carried. Held a firm topline moving, covered the ground well, driving off low set hocks. Profuse jacket, beautifully presented. BOB, Gp2

Another very nice girl, a little unsettled but typey, well-built and proportionate. Balanced angulation fore and rear, quality harsh coat, liked her proportions and outline with a good neck, correctly made head and sound rear, not quite the freedom of stride of 1.

1. Mitchell Gorsebern Spitfire

Well built male of good size with a delightful temperament, impressive head and a kind expression, strong in neck and bone, well bodied with substance, he has a good depth to his chest, ribcage well-sprung and well-ribbed back. He holds a good topline stacked and on the move, sound coming and going with a well carried tail, well presented and handled.

1.Manix, Manix and English Waldershelf Bjorn to be King

Very impressive dog with a masculine head and benevolent expression from dark, almond shaped eyes. So well put together, well boned right down to his feet, stands true with a breed typical outline and balanced all through, good breadth to chest with well-sprung ribs, well angled and balanced front and rear, correct in topline and croup and well muscled, hocks strong and straight, excellent reach and drive, in good coat, pleased to award him BOB and WG1.

Most impressive CED male of obvious quality and bags of breed type, masculine well-proportioned wedge shaped head and strong jaw, strong neck, broad well laid-back shoulders, stands on well-boned legs with large, well-padded feet, moves very soundly with plenty of drive from strong quarters, powerful physique and totally fit for function, excellent coat texture BOB WG3

Pollard’s Shalissa’s Hot Toddy at Whizzbean JW

Strong feminine b with a lovely head, good planes, balanced with good length to muzzle, dark eyes. Elegant neck, well laid shoulders, enough chest and well sprung ribs, short in loin, level topline, correct croup and tailset. Well-muscled with good bend of stifle and strong hocks, once settled she moved with reach and drive BOB.

Sound and confident youngster who is growing well in bone and body. Well balanced with correct proportions, chest developing with age, stands true with good width when viewed head-on, strong neck and body and very firm in rear for her age, moved very well, very promising BOB, WPG3.

1. Lowe’s Danixaris Daydreamer

Well balanced medium size red male with a breed typical head, neat high set ears, dark eyes, nicely arched neck with depth and breadth to chest but no cloddiness. Liked his outline with a firm topline, well ribbed back and short muscular loin. Moved out freely, balanced angles giving him good reach in front and strong rear rotary drive BOB

2. Mordacz & Lewczuk Calvaxar Bad Boy Lincoln at Danixaris

Standing taller than 1 but retains elegant and flowing lines, another male of good quality & breed type, no surprised to see he is sire of 1, he has passed on his virtues, well-proportioned wedge-shaped head with dark oval eyes and well set ears, good reach of neck into well laid shoulders, balanced all through and in proportions, has good bone and tight feet, another free and easy mover who covered the ground very efficiently holding a smooth outline.

1. Bithell’s Vertumnus Raise Your Glass to Bourntwyn

Quality fawn b full of breed type, just out of puppy, super neck and head carriage, still with a fair bit of development to do to fill her elegant frame but all age appropriate, has a beautiful head with such an expression, black mask, length and strength to foreface, lovely front with shoulders well laid, close elbows, well ribbed. Strong back and loin, long second thigh, further muscle development to come, strong hocks and tight feet, light and springy on the move, will watch her progress with interest BOB, WG4.

1. Abbott’s Nikami Ocean of Dreams

 Fawn bitch who presented a very nice outline, feminine head of good proportions with dark eyes, flat skull with length to foreface and clean cheeks, well boned with good feet and chest well developed for age, clean front and sound in rear with muscular hindquarters and good turn of stifle. Moved with a good length of stride, lithe and covering the ground easily.

1. Moulsdale’s Cookie Bombs Leo from the Old Oaks to Berglowe JW (imp DEU)

Male who impressed for strength, substance and balance. Well-proportioned head with well carried medium ears, dark eye and mask. Well boned with a strong neck into well-placed shoulders, good depth of chest, firm topline top line, moderate slope to croup and broad rear. Well angled behind, sound moving dog, shown in good coat.

2. Tame & Amesbury’s Bavaruki Palow Cashmere

Feminine bitch with a strong pretty head in balance with body and limbs, kind oval eyes, and correct ears, well balanced in angulation, strong neck and good bone, ribs could carry a little more spring, correct height to length with enough depth to chest, correct in croup, well muscled and tight feet, moved out soundly covering the ground very efficiently.

1. Mouldsdales Kalizmar The Aviator of Berglowe

Impressive male, large framed with excellent bone and substance, head strong but not heavy, proportionate with marked stop, dark mask, dark brown eyes and well set ears. Strong neck, well boned with width to chest and well laid shoulders, ribcage well sprung and well ribbed back, slightly long in loin and looks a bit bum high but this is due to abundant coat, lovely in side gait, good front reach but needs to strengthen in rear and firm in hock, has plenty of time BOB

1. Brereton’s Rott Guardian Igor

Medium size male with plenty of substance and nice rich tan. Strong and well muscled with good bone and compact feet. Broad skull with good strength to muzzle, dark eyes, a little round, well placed ears, strong neck with well-angled shoulders, good in proportions with a firm broad back and short muscular loin, strong behind and moves soundly, just needs to gain a little more confidence, sympathetically handled so I’m sure he’ll get there.

Very well balanced, feminine b giving nothing away in strength, gaits very smoothly and efficiently. Pretty well-proportioned head with dark almond shaped eyes, strength to muzzle and cheeks, good reach of strong neck, muscular well laid shoulders, well ribbed with firm topline, strong croup, muscular loin, balanced in rear angulation with good turn of stifle and strong hocks, lovely temperament BOB

2. Brereton’s Casey Wizard Montenegro Rott

Another nice b with good tan markings and holds her shape very well when moving. Head in proportion with a good ear set, dark eyes, and strong muzzle and underjaw, correct in neck with balanced angulation and good chest, maintains a firm level topline and moves with reach and drive, standing on correct feet and strong in hock.

1. Brenan & Oreilly’s Streillys Queen of the Night

Just 6 months and so composed and steady for her age, well-proportioned, with bone and substance, growing along right lines, very appealing head with strong neck, shoulders broad and sloping, legs straight and well boned, developing well in body, firm in back with ribs well rounded, strong loin and broad rump, needs to strengthen in rear and hock but plenty of time BOB, BP WPG4

Just 6 months, gold puppy, full of quality, head well developed for age, typical expression and strong foreface. Well boned with chest developing, super proportions and already gives an impression of power. Good angulation with width to rear and strong low-set hocks, moved easily and true. Should have a bright future, BOB,BP, WPG1.

2. Robert’s Callowdale Tenzin Nyima

Well grown dog with an attractive mane, just needs time to come together a bit more and mature into his frame, typical, masculine head with good width of skull and strong muzzle, good neck and front, could carry a little more bone for his size and develop more in brisket, not as strong in rear as 1, good side gait.

1. Groves Newgraden Hope and Glory for Bridgestone

Quality brown Newfoundland, feminine, well-proportioned, with good bone and strength. Loved her profile shape, lovely clean head with a strong muzzle, super expression, well angulated with good feet, good reach of neck, well ribbed with firm topline, and very strong and well angulated rear, parallel sound movement fore and aft.

Feminine, strong and well balanced CED b, super expression, with good eyes and well furred ears, strong neck, good shoulders, matching hind angulation, well ribbed, with good depth of chest and firm loin, hard in body and muscle, moved firmly and briskly.

2. Moulsdale’s Brynarian Ballimory for Berglowe

Well made Leonberger with a strong masculine head, dark eyes and good ear set, well boned, medium length of neck into well laid shoulders, deep chest, well ribbed and level topline, well bodied and muscled, moved soundly.
