Welsh Corgi Club Of Ulster

It was a great honour to be invited to judge this show, it was very late by the time it started and exhibitors had been first in the ring with Belfast Ch so I really appreciated everyone who stayed and presented such beautiful dogs, making for some difficult decisions.

Welsh Corgi (Pembroke)

Veteran Dog (1,0)

Bruce’s Ir Ch Whitepoint Dodging Daggers via Mantio

10 years r/w shown in fine form, handsome, well balanced dog with a super head scoring in width of skull, expression and muzzle with well set ears, well moulded front, good chest and bone, holds a firm topline moving and strides out freely with a bold outlook.

Puppy (2,1)

1. Irving’s Twinan Across My Heart

Very nice r/w puppy with a classy outline. Balanced, foxy head with good proportions, tapering muzzle and tight lips, uses ears well. Body is balanced, broad in chest with good bone and correct oval feet, sound in movement but a little loose at present.

Post Graduate (1,0)

1. Franchi’s Saniaquinto Black Diamond

Pleasing masculine tri of good size, correct skull to muzzle proportions, could carry a little more width between the ears, strong neck, excellent bone and tight feet, medium length of body, balanced angulation and holds a level topline, liked his freedom of stride and sound rear driving off strong hocks, needs a little more maturity but much to like.

Limit (4,3)

1. Irving’s Born to be your C’est la Vie (IMP HUN)

Really well constructed r/w dog, very balanced in outline, well- shaped skull, flat and with fair width, medium ears, round dark brown eyes, fair length of arched neck, level topline, well sprung ribs, strong loin. He has a good front with elbows close to the sides and oval feet. Holds himself well on the move, sturdily built, alert and strong on the move. RBD

2. Franchi’s Saniaquinto A Kind of Magic

Close up and very appealing for type, he looks quality and had a foxy head with correct skull to muzzle ratios, well-shaped medium ears and an alert expression. Well boned and firm in back, he had good lay of shoulders and fore chest, very sturdy, a little longer cast than 1. Moved very well.

3. Roper’s Cardigan Bay

1. Irving’s Ch Twinan Sign your Name

A heavier r/w dog but without any coarseness, handsome head, masculine with correct round eye and slightly rounded ears, good reach of arched neck blending into well laid shoulders, correct spring of rib and well let down chest, well boned down to tight feet, strong level top line with muscular loin, firm well-muscled hindquarters with good turn of stifle. 1. Towernaglen Catch A Start over Willinda

Feminine 7 year old tri with a lovely outline, very appealing foxy head, very alert and attentive with her well shaped ears, fairly long reach of neck, ample bone for size and balanced angulation with tight feet, liked her length and depth, held herself well on the move and covered the ground with ease, BV.

Firm in body with lovely ribbing and well-made hindquarters, hocks well let down and well filled pads. Sound and firm on the move, I felt the LD was a little better in front with more pro-sternum but a quality Ch here RBD.
