Firstly, I wish to thank the Society for my invitation to judge, the exhibitors for their support and for accepting my decisions sportingly and finally my Stewards Colin and Graeme who did an amazing job in keeping the ring running smoothly.

English Springer Spaniel

1st Topliss Beresford Stand N’Stare

8 month old liver/white male. Masculine head with dark eyes, correct ear set, good depth chest, balanced angulation front and rear, strong hocks put to good use on the move, striding out and covering the ground well.

2nd Topliss Beresford Stand on Ceremony

Littermate to 1. 8 month liver/white bitch. Beautiful and clearly feminine head, dark eye, correct ear set, straight front, balanced angulation, help topline, good tight feet, not as confident on the move as 1.

1st Topliss Beresford Stand Aside

Another litter mate. 8 month liver/white bitch. Another beautifully feminine head, correct ear set, good shoulder angulation, deep chest, straight front, a picture on the stack holding topline well, once settled she moved with drive. In the puppy challenge she didn’t want to cooperate on the move.

1st Glendinnings Plaiglen One Last Time

Almost 2 year old liver/white bitch. Pretty girl, correct eyes, low ear set, nice fluting, long neck into well laid shoulders, straight front assembly, balanced throughout showing nice angulation, topline held on the move. RBOB

2nd Rose’ Plaiglen Raggtrade

4 year old liver/white bitch. Feminine head, correct eye colour, good ear set, slightly longer in body than 1, straight front, held topline, covered the ring well on the move, shown in more coat than 1.

1st Topliss Sh Ch Beresford Lockdown

4 year old liver/white dog who caught my eye the minute he walked into the ring. Substantial, fully mature dog. Masculine head yet still shows kind expression, dark eye, correct muzzle length, correct ear set, straight front, good depth brisket, liked his body height/length ratio. Covered ground well with drive and presence. BOB Delighted to note he went BIS

2nd Warreners Eastfalla Sherlockholmes

3 year old black/white male shown in gleaming coat and condition. Lovely fluting, dark eye, correct ear set, straight front, good rear angulation, held topline on the move, covered the ring well. No disgrace to come 2nd to the winner.

1st Woodhouses Gadhelic Sunshine Girl at Halbadier

16 month old liver bitch. Such a kind expression, good muzzle length, well chiselled head, strong neck, good front angulation, deep chest, low tail set, possibly little long in loin but could be going through a growth period, when moving she happily strode around the ring.

 1st Woods Nadavin Nusa at Sagala

2 year old black bitch. Beautifully chiselled breed typical head, dark eye, clean neck, good lay of shoulder leading to straight front. Balanced throughout body, good length ribs, strong loin, held topline, tight feet, more precise movement than 2nd.RBOB

2nd Angus’ Elgert Queen of Hearts to Sparkenhoe

2 year old black bitch. Such a pretty head and sweet expression, good length muzzle, low ear set, dark eye, good lay of shoulder, straight front, flat bone, tight feet and correct tail set, coat in gleaming condition, moved well but not quite that of the winer.

5 year old black dog. Solidly built dog with masculine head that shows chiselling in correct places, dark eye, correct ear set, pronounced occiput, clean neck, strong front, flat bone, tight feet. Sets off strongly when moving, held topline well and covered the ring with ease. BOB

2nd Moores Fantastic Field Shine like a Diamond at Gadhelic JW (Imp Fin)

16 month liver bitch. Pretty bitch with chiselling where you want it, good length muzzle, low ear set, dark eye. Good front angulation and straight, flat bone, good chest, correct tail set, OK on the move, not as precise as 1st. Coat in lovely condition.

1st Harrisons Glenbrows Rhyme

9 month old bitch with a beautifully feminine head showing dark eye, correct ear set and shape, balanced angulation throughout, straight front, arch over loin, straight topline, correct tail set, covered the ground with the drive I was looking for. Would happily have taken her home. BPIB Delighted to note she gained Puppy Group 3

2nd Gaylors Gilstonia Run Red Rum for Aprilflash

10 month old dog with a more masculine head showing the proportions I was looking for, dark eye, correct ears, another with balanced angulation throughout, strong chest, short loin, one the move he was very strong moving away but didn’t have quite the drive of the winner, he was unlucky to meet her.

1st Cooper & Mullins Gilstonia Maggie May

10 month old bitch, 4th in the strong puppy class, no disgrace in that. Pretty bitch with sweet expression, kind eye, good ear set, correct muzzle proportions. Clean neck into straight, neat front, good angles, help topline, correct tail set. Moved better in this class than the previous.

1st Wallingtons Ferndel Renzo at Rovinjdal

20 month old male who was initially a little nervous but soon settled when moved. Kind eye, correct ears, straight front, short loin, held topline, nicely angled at rear, low tail set. Covered the ground well

Open (5,5) Class of the day, dogs I would happily award BOB went without critiques.

1st Wards Glenbrows Flame for Tantaraviz

Nearly 2 year old bitch, notes say she has recently been awarded her first RCC so having her breakthrough year. Very feminine head showing proportions I was looking for, good ear set and shape, clean neck leading to straight front, good depth chest, short loin with rise over, held topline, balanced angulation throughout, moved with drive and presence and the more I looked at her the more I liked her. Well handled. BOB

3 year old dog who was so unlucky to meet my winner. Masculine head showing kind and dark eye, correct ears, straight front, good depth chest, strong and short loin, balanced angulation throughout, correct tail set, moved with ring presence and covered the ground well. RBOB
