I thoroughly enjoyed judging at this happy and well run festive show. Thanks to everyone who brought their dogs to show under me.

Brittany. Sp Y (1,0) 1 Mr D Dixon’s Violette De Keranlouan Well made 18 month old tricolour bitch,. Appealing feminine head, Good rear and fore angles, broad chest and ribcage. Feet need to tighten, not as positive on the move as the Open bitch. RBOB. Open (1,0). 1 Mr D Dixon’s Capenor Coco Cosette. 5 year old o/w bitch of correct proportions in good coat. Very nice head, correct skull, stop and ears. Excellent movement, holding topline BOB.

German Longhaired Pointer. Sp Y (0,0). PG (0,0) Open (0,0).

Spaniel (Sussex). Sp Y (0,0). PG (0,0). Open (2,0). 1 Mrs A L Moon’s Deanway Proper Charlie Lovely bone on this 5 year old dog, substance but not overdone. Well proportioned head, strong through neck, tight front and good feet, firm all through. Moved characteristically, with drive. BOB 2 Mrs A L Moon’s Foxhampton Fields of Gold. 6 year old male, again of good head and overall proportions. Front could be a little tighter. Rear movement not as true as 1. RBOB

AV Junior Stakes. (20,10) 1 Ms J M Harris’ Thandiwe Mirrorball. Quality 18 month old male Field Spaniel, in good coat, and well shown. Good head, so well put together, correct angles fore and aft, well ribbed and strong loin. Lovely tail carriage. Moved soundly. 2 Mr S P & Mrs W M Walker’s Dexbenella Livin The Dream. Handsome l/w 16 month old ESS, very smart boy and shown to advantage. Lovely head, well proportioned with good bone. Moved out well on tight feet.

AV Post Graduate Stakes (26,12) 1 Mr J & Mrs C Sainsbury’s Elskerwood Cloudy Skies. Well balanced 19 month old Clumber Spaniel boy. Good bone without being too heavy. Well proportioned, clean head, correct front and rear angles, firm topline. True, active movement 2 Mr N & Mrs G Tadhunter’s Taramount Pure Imagination. 3 year old apricot American Cocker Spaniel bitch, she just bustled her way around the ring. Correct head shape and proportions, good ears. Tight elbows and correct angulation at the rear. In good jacket, well shown.

Reserve BOB Stakes 1 Mrs R G & Mr D S Lowden’s Creamwood Scarlet Ribbon of Labonsea Really pretty, neat, 20 month old yellow Labrador Retriever bitch. Nothing overdone about her. Enough bone but not too heavy, well proportioned and angled all through. Feminine expression, well made head and ears, strong neck and ribcage. Moved soundly on good legs and feet, correct otter tail carried level on the move. 2 Miss A Lam & Mr S Leung’s Tollisty Out To Get You JW. Eyecatching 4 year old male Nova Scotia Ducktolling Retriever, fits the standard, nothing overdone. Handsome head, good shoulders and brisket well down to tight elbows. Strong ribs and loin, well angled rear. Driving movement, in good coat.
