Huntingdonshire Canine Society

Open Show Sat 16th August 2025

My thanks to the committee for inviting me to judge. Like many exhibitors and officials, we had dressed for the heat of the previous few days. However, the cooler weather on the day was a relief, and I want to commend the society of running a well organised show. Thanks also to my two stewards, and to the exhibitors for your entries and sportsmanship around the ring.

Tibetan Spaniel

Post Graduate (2)

1st GIANNI ITSPETTICOATTAYLES AMONG LILLINCA (Brandrick). 18-month bitch. Correct head with slight dome, with good equal proportions. Correctly placed dark oval eyes and pendant shaped ears, with ears well used to be attentive to her handler. Correct mouth and nice length to the muzzle with a well-defined stop. Good neck allowing proud head carriage, onto a level topline held on the move and tail carried well in a gay curl. Good length to ribs. Front legs correctly bowed, rear legs straight. Moved well with quick action and purpose. RBOB.

2nd MULLTYE ZAL TA MA (Tyler). 2-year-old bitch. Smaller in type than 1st but with a lovely feminine head. Dark eyes and pendant shaped ears well set. Long in body, with ribs extending well back. Front legs correctly bowed and rear legs straight from behind. Moved ok, but didn’t have the same smooth action as 1st.

Open (3)

1st VELROCK RINGING GOLD (Collett). 3-year-old male of good size. Well defined, masculine head with ample feathering to the ears and an impressive shawl. Correct stop and mouth. Lovely depth to the chin and well-padded round muzzle, of excellent equal proportions from the front. Good neck which allowed him to carry his head proudly, with a slight aloofness. Correct amount of bone down to feathered hare-feet. Shoulders well laid and a developed prosternum between slightly bowed front legs. Nice depth of chest and well sprung ribs, extending well back to a short loin. Rear legs straight from behind, with nice turn of stifle. Carried his tail well and held his level topline well on the natural stand and on the move, which was quick and positive with drive from the rear. Overall impression of balance and moderation, with a good window of daylight underneath. BOB and delighted to see him take G3.

2nd LILLINCA BEES BLISS (Brandrick). 4-year-old bitch of lovely feminine size. Nice head and correct dark eyes and pendant shaped ears. Nice neck, well laid shoulders and correct bowed foreleg and straight rear legs from behind. Good length to her ribcage, level topline and carried tail well. Moved well, just preferred the balance and overall impression of 1st.

3rd MULLTYE ROL MO (Tyler)
