Thank you to the Officers and Committee for the invitation to judge utilities and groups at your organised and well run show, and for your hospitality. Thank you also to my ring steward Malcolm Trevis for keeping the ring running smoothly, and to all the exhibitors who showed their dogs under me on the day.

DALMATIAN

P (4,3) 1st Moss & Page’s Winflash Valentina. A 9 month old bitch with a pretty feminine expression on her head of good proportions. Her long neck is set into well laid back shoulders, her front is straight and elbows are close to the body. Her chest is deep with developing spring of rib, and her back is strong and level. She presents a balanced outline and moved well when settled. BP & RBOB, UPG4

L (1,0) 1st Moss’s Sadiedel Let Ur Heart Decide JW. A 2 year old dog who presents a nicely balanced profile, and moves round the ring with a smooth powerful gait. He has a strong headset, with dark oval eyes, good length of muzzle and a strong jaw with good dentition. His neck is nicely arched and of good length, and cleanly set into his laid back shoulders. He is well muscled with pleasing depth of chest and spring of rib, a lovely straight front and neat catlike feet. He has a strong level back and clean muscular loin, well set tail and good bend of stifle. I was pleased to award him BOB and UG1.

JAPANESE SPITZ

SY (1,0) Cobb’s Camylaw Midnight. A 19 month old dog presented in a profuse white coat, with lovely dark eyes and black pigment. He was very alert and lively, with a head of good proportions, pointed muzzle and erect earset. His neck is strong and arched, with a full mane. He has good depth of chest and spring of rib, and a muscular rear with moderate angulation. He moved effortlessly round the ring, and was well handled. BOB

KOOIKERHONDJE

SY (3,2) 1ST Davies’ Twybrook Barenhauter. A 22 month old dog, he has a good head set with dark oval eyes, excellent pigment, well feathered pendant ears with ear rings, and an alert expression. His front assembly is pleasing, with straight forelegs, strong pasterns, good depth of chest and spring of rib. His back is level and finishes with a well feathered tailset. He has moderate angulation and moved well when settled.

L (1,0) 1st Stewart’s Twybrook Sweet Princess RL1EX, a 3 year old white and red bitch with a pretty feminine expression on her well proportioned head. Her ears are well set with plenty of feathering, and the desired black tips. She has a lovely straight front, pleasing length of neck and well laid shoulders. She has a balanced profile, and well feathered tail and compact oval feet which carried her round the ring effortlessly. RBOB

O (4,2) 1st Stewart’s LUX/NLD CH Qunack’s Favor Light for Twybrook (Imp Ned) Winner ’24 RL2EX. This 5 year old white and red bitch was presented in excellent condition, with feathering in all the right places. Her outline is balanced and everything is in proportion. She has a pretty feminine expression, with dark almond shaped eyes, excellent pigment, well set ears, a wedge shaped muzzle, and a strong jaw with good dentition. She has a strong neck, well laid back shoulders, a straight front and compact feet. Her chest reaches to her elbows and ribs are well sprung. Her back is level and she is well muscled throughout. She moved with plenty of drive, keeping her head held high at all times, I was pleased to award her BOB.

2nd Davies’ Millhanger Kemboy. A 6 year old dog and another with a pleasing headset, he was very alert and keen, with dark expressive eyes with plenty of fill underneath. His muzzle is of good length and depth, with a strong jaw and good dentition. He has a deep chest and ample substance. Good angulation front and rear, he is slightly longer cast than 1st place, and lost out on movement today.

MINIATURE SCHNAUZER

P (1,0) 1ST Copper’s Copellastar Go with the Flo, an 8 month old P&S bitch with a keen and confident demeanour. She has a balanced outline, with a dense harsh jacket. Dark oval eyes and neat ears set high, prominent eyebrows and blunt muzzle give her a pretty feminine expression. Her strong neck leads down to well laid shoulders, and she has a straight front with developing chest and rib, a strong back and high set tail. She moved briskly with elegance and good reach. BP & UPG3

O (2,0) 1st Copper’s Violis Poetic Haiku for Copellastar JW. A 21 month old bitch, very well presented in a harsh dense P&S jacket. She has a delightful sturdy square outline, a feminine headset of good proportions, a lovely straight front with deep chest and good spring of rib, a long slightly arched neck and a strong back. Pleasing angulation front and rear, she moved freely with reach and drive and was very well handled, a real showgirl, I was pleased to award her BOB and UG3

2nd Mr & Mrs Copper’s Mary Wells around Copellastar. A 3 year old P&S bitch and another who was well presented. She has a sturdy frame with plenty of substance, lovely head and expression, with dark eyes and well set ears. Her blunt muzzle is well furnished and she has a harsh dense coat. She has many of the attributes of 1st place, but was very lively on the move and did not show herself to advantage today, RBOB

POODLE (MINIATURE)

P (4,2) 1ST Walker’s Raeannes Black Velvet, an 11 month old dog with a well groomed black coat of dense harsh texture. He is up to size and has a masculine headset with dark expressive eyes, well set ears with long wide leathers, a strong foreface, flat cheekbones and a well defined chin. He has a balanced profile, with neck of good length, and a short strong back. His chest is deep and his ribs are developing. He has a straight front and pleasing angulation front and rear. He moved beautifully round the ring soundly, and was well handled, BOB & BP.

2nd Chan’s Volgarus Espresso Elegance. A 9 month old brown bitch, well presented in a coat of harsh texture. She has a pretty feminine head, dark eyes with a hint of naughtiness, a good earset and pleasing length of muzzle. Her front is straight and she has laid back shoulders, developing spring of rib and depth of chest, and her well proportioned neck held her head high. She was very enthusiastic going round the ring, making movement hard to assess.

O (3,1) 1st Cann’s Sunmarca Secret Agent, a 3 year old black male, well presented with a dense harsh coat, he has a masculine headset, in proportion to body and held proudly on a strong neck of good length. His front is straight, he has good depth of chest and ribs are well sprung. He has a strong short back and he is well off for muscle. He moved and was handled well. RBOB

2nd Gorduna’s Int/Multi CH Moutari Willy Winzig. 5 years old and another well presented male with a lovely white coat of good texture. He has dark eyes and black pigment on nose and lips, well set ears of good length and width, and an alert friendly expression. His front is straight and he has good angulation front and rear, with stifles well bent and hocks well let down. A bit more neck would balance his profile completely. He moved well

 SHIH TZU

P (1,0) 1ST Puleston’s Chanikos Mystical Dream for Shanuleas, an 11 month old brindle and white male and an absolute pleasure to go over. His large dark round eyes sparkle and he is lively and very alert. He has a broad round head, well placed ears, black nose and blunt muzzle of good width, and pleasing beard and whiskers. His long dense coat is well groomed, and he moved very well around the ring. Developing in rib and chest, he has a level back and high set tail, and round well covered feet. I was pleased to award him BP, 2ND AV Utility Puppy and UPG2

L (1,0) 1st Diffey’s Marhilway Spirited Edge, a 5 year old gold and white bitch who has a pretty feminine expression, well off for head furnishings with ears of good length, dark round eyes and a well placed black nose. She has a balanced outline with a nicely arched neck, level back and high set tail. She has a deep broad chest and firm round feet. She moved well when settled but was distracted by the flooring on occasion. RBOB

O (2,1) 1st Diffy’s CH Marhilway Explored the Edge, a 4 year old bitch with a lovely gold and white dense coat, presented in excellent condition. She has a balanced outline, and nicely arched neck of good proportion. Dark well placed eyes, large ears with long leathers, a blunt muzzle of pleasing length and width, with a good beard, her head is round and she has a delightful feminine expression. She has ample bone on her sturdy frame, a straight front, good depth of chest and shoulders are well laid back. Her back is level and her well plumed tail is set high. She moved round the ring with arrogance, maintaining her topline, and showing full pads. BOB

POODLE (STANDARD)

P (1,0) 1ST Spry’s Celmareva We Know the Way, at just 6 months old this white dog was a little unsettled but clearly has a lovely relationship with his handler and I am sure he will gain more confidence soon. He has a balanced elegant outline, a straight front and developing width and depth of chest and spring of rib. Pleasing angulation front and rear, and a good turn of stifle. He has a masculine head with dark eyes and black pigment, a good length of muzzle and strong jaw. His movement was a little loose at the back. BP

SY (2,0) 1st Elson’s Volgarus Make a Choice at Jomarnelli. A 20 month old black bitch with a balanced profile and harsh dense coat, well presented and groomed. Her muzzle is long and she has a strong foreface, good ear set with long leathers and dark eyes with an intelligent glint. Her front is straight, she has a short strong back, broad loins and small tight feet. Her tailset is ok, and she moved well. BOB

2nd Dkacey’s No Pyro No Party, an 18 month old black dog, well presented in continental trim. He has a masculine headset, strong foreface, good earset, and flat cheekbones. He has dark eyes but you can see white when looking forward. His front is straight; he has a short back and moderate turn of stifle. I would prefer a higher tailset, and he was enthusiastic on the move, making it hard to assess.

POODLE (TOY)

P (1,0) 1ST Holborow,s Magnuspaws Delphinus, a delightful silver bitch of 9 months of age, she was presented in good coat, and had a lovely intelligent glint in her dark eyes. Her muzzle is of good length and chin well defined, she has tight lips and her cheeks are flat. She has a nicely balanced profile, with well proportioned neck leading down to laid back shoulders. Her front is straight and her back is level, with a high tailset and good turn of stifle. She was very alert and moved well in all directions, she stood alone but was very deserving of her BOB & BP.

TIBETAN SPANIEL

SY (3,2) 1ST Quest & Conbiere’s Back in Black with Devontibs, an 18 month old black dog with white markings, he has dark brown expressive eyes, a muzzle of medium length, depth and width to his chin, and a slightly domed skull with well set ears. He has a short neck with a shawl of longer length hair, a good spring of rib and a level back. Hocks are well let down, and he has small neat hare feet. He was very exuberant on the move, and well handled.

L (3,1) 1st Clover’s Chenrezi No Ordinary Love, I had the pleasure of judging this 6 year old dog early last year, and it was lovely to go over him again. He has a beautiful gold sable coat of moderate length, and a nicely balanced profile. He has dark oval eyes, a blunt muzzle with plenty of cushioning, with width and depth to his chin. His masculine headset is carried proudly on his strong neck, which leads down to firm shoulders. He maintained his level topline on the move, carried on small neat hare feet, and his high set plumed tail was proudly carried over his back. He was well handled, and narrowly missed out in the challenge, RBOB

2nd Quest & Conibere’s Tiny Winnie De La Valoubiere with Devontibs (Imp Fra), a 3 year old silver sable bitch with a delightfully feminine headset and an alert intelligent expression. She is small and balanced, with well placed ears, dark eyes and pigment and a medium length muzzle. Not quite the amount of cushioning as 1st place. She has sufficient bone and neat hare feet on her slightly bowed front legs, hocks are well let down and she also maintained her topline on the move.

O (4,0) 1st Quest’s Lilileian Louis Vuitton JW ShCEx VW (Imp Fin), I also judged this 8 year old last year, and it was an absolute pleasure to go over him again. Now 8 years old, he is such a showman, and goes smoothly round the ring with quick and free flowing movement. He has a beautiful head, dark expressive eyes, well set ears and a well cushioned blunt muzzle. His gold sable coat is in excellent condition, and his strong neck is covered with a fabulous mane. Well balanced throughout, and everything in proportion, I was happy to award him BOB today. I was later informed he beat his son in the challenge, they are certainly of similar breed type and quality. UG4

TIBETAN TERRIER

L (2,1) 1ST Curley’s Silgarhi Bhanu Bhupen, a 2 year old sable dog in good coat, he has a square outline and masculine well furnished headset, with dark round eyes, heavily feathered well set ears, and a strong muzzle of good length. His neck is strong and shoulders are well laid, his front is straight and his feet are round and heavily furnished. A level back and short loin with well feathered tail set high, which finishes the picture. He moved smoothly round the ring. BOB

O (3,2) 1st Rutley’s Araki Not on your Nelly at Javey JW. A 3 year old bitch with a profuse black and white coat, she has also has a pleasing well furnished headset. She has a sturdy frame with good depth of brisket and ribs well laid, level topline and a good bend of stifle. Sadly she did not want to show herself today, and dropped her tail on occasion

 A.V.N.S.C. UTILITY

L (1,0) 1ST Bull & Warren’s Jolerob One Way of Puttin It at Starferry, Shar Pei. A 2 year old red fawn bitch with a lovely calm friendly temperament, she was a delight to go over. She has a compact square outline, with everything in proportion. She has a flat skull, small well set ears, dark almond eyes and moderate wrinkling, giving her the desired frowning expression. Her front is straight and she has a broad chest and well laid sloping shoulders. She has moderate wrinkling over her back, and a high set curled tail. She moved well and was very attentive to her handler. RBOB

O (2,1) Bull & Warren’s Zaralee I’m Still Standing at Starferry (Imp Ire) Another quality Shar Pei, with a harsh red fawn coat, at 5 years old he was also very attentive to his handler. He has a beautiful headset, small dark clear eyes, a frowning expression, and well set ears of correct shape and size. His muzzle is broad and slightly padded, he has a large black nose, black tongue and pigment and a strong jaw. He is well muscled throughout his balanced frame, with a straight front, good depth and width of chest, and moderate wrinkling. A good topline, moderate angulation with hocks well let down, and high set tail complete the picture. He moved with very well, BOB

A.V. IMPORTED BREED REGISTER UTILITY

P (1,0) 1ST Cassidy’s Ring Rider Wrecking Ball for Chinaskys, Xoloitzcuintle. An 11 month old standard hairless, she has ring presence in abundance. She has a sturdy athletic profile, well balanced and with her head held high. Wedge shaped from above, her head tapers toward the muzzle, her jaw is strong and she has excellent dentition. Her dark eyes have an intelligent glint, and she is very alert. Her long slightly arched neck leads down to moderately laid back shoulders, with elbows close to her chest. Her front is straight and her pasterns are strong and upright. She has a firm level back, well set tail and good angulation front and rear. She moved with elegance and grace, with a long stride and was well handled. Best AV Import, Best AV Import Puppy, Best AV Utility Puppy and UPG1

A.V VETERAN, what a lovely class

(7,3) 1ST Stewart’s Duckhills Thistledown Dance of Emmi over Twybrook (Imp NLD) RL4, Kooikerhondje. A beautiful white and orange bitch of 8 years, she has a lovely feminine expression, brown almond shaped eyes, well set ears of correct size and shape, with the black earrings clearly visible, and a strong jaw with good dentition. Balanced in outline, she is well muscled and firm, with a straight front and neat feet, ribs well sprung and slightly sloping croup leading to her well feathered tail. She moved with drive, flowing round the ring. I was pleased to hear she gained the final point for her VW today, congratulations

2nd Hall’s Balgay Kitang Po, Tibetan Spaniel. An 8 year old red sable with white coated dog presented in excellent condition. He has a beautiful masculine headset, dark oval eye with an intelligent alert expression, a blunt muzzle of medium length with plenty of cushioning, good width and depth of chin, and well set ears. His neck is short and strong, with a full mane, leading down to well laid shoulders. Sufficient bone for his size, he is balanced and has good spring of rib and neat hare feet. His plumed tail is set high and he did not stop wagging it the entire time in the ring, such a delightful happy dog, it was a pleasure to watch him move with a free positive gait. I was delighted to hear he also gained his final VW point today, very well deserved.

2nd French Bulldog French’s Bincombefarm Serpensortia JW, a nicely marked brindle pied bitch coming up to 2 years old. She has a strong feminine headset and well placed bat ears that she used to advantage. She has a balanced frame and a gentle roach, sufficient substance and bone throughout. She was well handled and maintained her topline, moving soundly in all directions.
