Papillon (Butterfly Dog) Club Of Scotland

Thank you to the committee of the Papillon (Butterfly Dog) Club of Scotland for inviting me to judge their show. I enjoyed my appointment and was efficiently aided by my stewards Ellie & Jodie – thank you ladies. BABY PUPPY DOG (1/1) 1. Craig’s CANTOVERDE PAST AND FURIOUS (TAF) Very sweet 4m old Tri. Good eyes, large ears. Head still developing. Correct tail set & carriage. Nicely marked. Moved confidently but being a baby he was unsettled on the move. Promising pup. BBP. BABY PUPPY BITCH (2/2) 1. Davidson’s ELMARAINE ECHO ECHO Tri litter sisters. Both have similar attributes. I preferred the overall make & shape of 1 at present. Head still developing. Good eyes, still growing into ears. Good tail set & carriage. Was happy & confident, but moved on her own terms. When she did go, she went well & was free moving and true in front. Had she not been impersonating a hearth rug so often, she would have been BBP. Very promising baby. 2. Davidson’s ELMARAINE HOPE OF LIFE Smaller girl with very pretty head. Good body balance. Correct tail set & carriage. Out at elbow so front movement not as true as 1. I look forward to seeing both sisters when they are older. VETERAN DOG OR BITCH (6/6) 1. Breen’s ZOLOTO SKYLA AT KYLECROFT Very nice 10.5 yr old Tri lady in excellent coat & condition. Lovely shape & size. Pretty head with full clean dentition, large well positioned ears, with good feathering. Correct silky coat. Good tail set & carriage. Correct hare feet. Very bright & sound on the move. A credit to her owner. BVIS 2. Bouge’s ADELAYS BRILLIANT BUDDY (Imp Rus) 7 yr old Tri boy, a bit too heavy and profuse coat does not help, but a lot to like about him. Attractive head with good muzzle/skull proportions. Correct eye shape & colour. Good tail set & carriage. Smart mover. 3. Skelton’s ADNAMASHAN LADY AMELIA PUPPY DOG (2/2) 1. Davidson’s NORTHLYTE SILVER SURFER Lovely type B&W boy. Balanced head with good muzzle to skull proportions. Nice eye, large well positioned & well feathered ears. Balanced body with good front & rear angulation, and free moving in profile. Just needs to tighten up behind. Good tail set & carriage. Correct feet & silky coat. BPIS 2. Taylor’s AMHURST NEEPS AND TATTIES Larger & rangier B&W youngster. Eye a little too round. Good bite. Large well set ears. Head still developing but a little longer in foreface than ideal so lacks balance. Tail well set & carried. Silky coat. Unsettled on move. POST GRADUATE DOG (5/5) 1. Macdonald’s ELMARINE GUARDS PIPER Very attractive Tri boy with lovely head & expression. Good eye, large well positioned ears, with good feathering. Good stop. Would prefer a better layback of shoulder, and for him to be tighter at elbow. Good tail set & carriage. Silky coat. Balanced body. Steady on the move but toes in at front. 2. Taylor’s PAMHURST PICASSO Tri boy. Good ears, but eyes could be darker, so not the expression of 1. Body size & shape correct. Correct feet. Good tail set & carriage. Well presented and bright on the move, but out at elbow so toes in at front. 3. Bogue’s PAMHURST WEE COMMANDO LIMIT DOG (3/3) 1. Anderson’s ELMARINE OUTLANDER OVER NORTHLYTE Very nice shape & size Tri boy with attractive head. Large well feathered ears, correctly set. Correct hare feet. Front angulation could be better and needs to tighten at elbows, but balanced in profile movement. Good tail set & carriage. In good coat. RBD & RBIS 2. Taylor’s PAMHURST ONE AND ONLY Red Sable & White. Head balance good, but eye too round & pale so lacks expression. Good bite. Well set large ears. Front angulation could be better and needs to tighten at elbows. Rangier body so not the balance of 1. Correct feet. Silky coat. 3. Watson’s ASLAN MERSANA (IR JUN CH CJW 23) OPEN DOG (4/3) 1. Whitehill’s NORTHLYTE BUFFALO BILL Very attractive Tri with large well set & well feathered ears. Correct eye shape. Lovely muzzle to skull proportion. Would prefer a little more angulation in front & tighter at elbow, but still a quality boy with good body balance. Correct tail set & carriage. Good silky coat with excellent feathering. Could be a little more free moving in front, but moved steadily & is balanced standing & on the move. BD & BIS 2. Bouge’s Adelays Brilliant Buddy (Imp Rus) 3. Black’s PAPAROTTSIE TOUCH OF CLASS MINOR PUPPY BITCH (2/2) 1. Savage’s ZIZUKA LOVE SHINES BRIGHT FOR ABBEYTON Red sable puppy with balanced head proportions. Large well set & well feathered ears. Good bite. Level topline. Good tail set & carriage. Would prefer a little more angulation in front & out at elbow at present. Free moving in profile but needs to tighten up front & rear. Good coat texture. 2. Whitehill’s AMICAE MOON MAGIC Very pretty Tri girl with gorgeous head & expression. Topline unsettled & needs to tighten up at front. Correct tail set & carriage. A lot to like about her & I look forward to seeing her when she is finished growing. PUPPY BITCH (3/3) 1. Anderson & Kiernan’s NORTHLYTE PHEONIX RISING Tri youngster with very pretty head & expression. Well set & well feathered large ears. Correct muzzle/skull proportions. Good bite. Good body proportions. Acceptable front angulation, and free moving, just needs to tighten up behind. Silky coat. I look forward to seeing her when she is older. RBB & BPIS 2. Whitehill’s NORTHLYTE UNDER BOARDWALK Tri litter sister of above, but not the front angulation of 1 so lacks forward reach. Very pretty head with large well set & well feathered ears. Balanced body, silky coat. Moves steadily but needs to tighten up behind. Has a lot to like about her 3. Davidson’s MERCLA IVY-DELLA JUNIOR BITCH (2/1) 1. Davidson’s AFTERGLOW SNUG AS A BUG AT ELMARAINE Tri girl a little longer in foreface than ideal, so not the desirable head proportions for balance. Correct eye, good bite. Large, well positioned & well feathered ears. Topline unsettled at present. Would prefer more angulation in front & better bend of stifle Movement balanced but restricted, and needs to tighten behind. MAIDEN BITCH (1/1) 1. Davidson’s ELMARINE READ THE RIOT ACT Very nice type B&W but she was not happy and I could not handle her. Owner showed bite, which is correct. Lovely head with good eye. Correct muzzle to skull proportions. Good large well set & well feathered ears. Balanced body proportions, correct tail set & carriage. Good coat. Much happier when on floor and front & rear angulation allows her to be balanced & free moving. A very nice girl who I liked a great deal, but needs to allow herself to be handled by judges if she is to go further in the ring. POST GRADUATE BITCH (3/2) 1. Breen’s AMICAE MOONFLOWER Tri girl. Very short in foreface so head lacks desired balance. Good ears, dark eye but very round. Correct hare feet. Good tail set & carriage. Good body proportions. Silky coat. Moved steadily. 2. Savage’s ABBEYTON HERE I AM B&W Phalene with very pretty head & expression. Lovely eye & well set ears. Body a little short in leg so lacks balance, and she is sloped over the croup so tail set & carriage not as required. Moved steadily. Well presented in good silky coat. LIMIT BITCH (2/1) 1. Taylor’s PAMHURST AE FOND KISS Petite Tri bitch. Large well feathered ears, Correct eyes & good bite. Short in neck so lacks overall balance. Balanced body shape & correct hare feet. Lacks angulation front & rear, so movement restricted either end. OPEN BITCH (3/1) 1. Taylor’s PAMHURST PRETTY PETAL Pretty Tri girl who was not in best coat, but it is correct silky texture. Attractive head with correct muzzle to skull proportions. Correct eye shape, but could be a little darker. Good bite. Large well set & well feathered ears. Body could be a little shorter coupled, however front & rear angulation is good, and she moved freely with good forward reach and was true front & rear. Good tail set & carriage. Correct hare feet. BB & BOS SPECIAL BEGINNERS DOG OR BITCH (1/1) 1. Cheshire’s FARTHINGHALL KEEP THE GIFT Red & white girl who did not show to her best advantage. Out at elbow so needs to tighten up in front. Longer in foreface and ears low set. Eyes could be darker. Tail well set & carried. In good coat & well feathered where appropriate. SPECIAL B/W OR TRI DOG OR BITCH (2/2) 1. Breen’s KYLECROFT QUEST Tri boy with attractive head. Good muzzle to skull proportions. Correct bite. Large well set & well feathered ears. Good eye. Correct feet. Needs to tighten up at elbow. Good tail set & carriage. Well presented in good coat. Moved steadily. 2. Davidson’s Elmarine Read The Riot Act
