Bernese Mountain Dog

P: (1) 1st Watson’s Etterbern Gozan to Stepdashar, 6-month-old tricolour dog, a raw baby but lots of promise and a super temperament, he was really enjoying his day. Promising head with a skull of good width which just needs time to flatten behind the eyes. Well defined stop with slightly shorter muzzle of good width, a lovely almond eye and well set ears. Good neck and well angulated front and rear with super bone. Good length of back and deep chest. Balanced on the move, showing reach and sound moving away. Whilst standing alone, it was my pleasure to award Best Puppy and Best of Breed. I hear he later went PG3, well done and best of luck with him as he grows up.

Bearded Collie

P: (3,1) 1st Lewis & Moreland’s Potterdale Prime Rose, 9-month-old black & white bitch with lots to like as she is very balanced overall. Good head with a square, flat skull, medium stop, muzzle of equal length and good width with good underjaw. Lovely eye, set wide, and well-set ears. Super outline with good length of neck, level back of good length, short loin, gently sloping croup and low set tail. Good depth of chest with well sprung rib and good length of leg. Well laid shoulder with good return of upper arm of equal length, well bent stifles and short rear pasterns. Lovely on the move, keeping her topline well. Pleased to award her Best Puppy, Reserve Best of Breed and I hear she was PG3 later in the day, well done and good luck in the future.

2nd Ellis’ Talraz Lady Eleanor, 8-month-old black & white bitch, smaller and finer than the winner, nice head with flat skull of good width and muzzle of equal length but I would have preferred more stop. Lovely outline with good neck and super topline, good depth of chest and well-set tail of good length. Moderate but balanced angulation front and rear. I would have preferred a touch more reach on the move, but she was balanced and sound.

J: (3) 1st Lewis & Moreland’s Potterdale Prime Rose, as above

2nd Sewell & Gray’s Victime D Amour De Chester With Kemelstowe (IMP FRA), 15-month-old black & white bitch. Lovely head with a flat, square skull and muzzle of equal length and good width. Well set eye of good size giving a lovely expression. Super angulation front and rear with level back and well spring rib. I would have preferred a touch more neck and she is a touch longer than I would prefer. Lovely on the move, with reach and drive.

3rd Bevis’ Beabeardies Blue Monday

PG: (2) 1st Sewell & Gray’s Victime D Amour De Chester With Kemelstowe (IMP FRA), as before

2nd Dobrowolski’s Highglade Moon Child at Trileada, 2-year-old blue & white bitch. Lovely head and eye, with a good flat skull and muzzle of equal length. Good length of neck and back, but I would have preferred a firmer topline. Well angulated front and rear which showed in her movement which had reach and drive, although she was a touch close behind going away.

L: (2,1) 1st Sale & Lewis’ Potterdale Peace Rose, 5-year-old black & white bitch. Good head with a flat, square skull, good stop and muzzle of equal length. Well set eyes of good size and well-set ears giving an alert expression. Lovely outline with good length of neck and level back and well angulated front and rear and low set tail. Balanced on the move with reach and drive.

O: (3) 1st Waldron & Gray’s Une Histoire D’Amour De Chester With Snowmead JW (IMP FRA), so much to like about this 2-year-old black & white bitch. Super head with a square skull with good muzzle of equal length, separated by a definite but moderate stop with good bite and underjaw. Lovely oval eye set wide apart giving a friendly expression. Lovely neck with a level back of good length, a strong loin and well sprung rib. Well laid-back shoulder and excellent return of upper arm, with good bone and feet, well bent stifle and short rear pasterns. To be picky, I would prefer a touch more length of leg but she really excels on the move, showing effortless reach and drive, keeping her topline well and carrying her tail low. In super coat presented well. Pleased to award her Best of Breed.

2nd Bevis’ Beabeardies Cinnamon Girl, 6-year-old fawn & white bitch who is smaller in build than the winner but has lots to like. Good head with skull and muzzle of equal length and eye of good size set apart. Lovely outline with good neck and level back, with good angulation front and rear. Well set tail but I’d prefer it slightly longer. Balanced on the move, keeping her topline well.

O: (1) Wheeler’s Knytshall Thistle Ink It Up Koromandel JW, 18-month-old black bitch. Super wedge head with flat skull of good width between the ears, which are high set and of good size. Skull and muzzle taper gradually, separate by a clean stop and dark, oval eyes giving a keen expression. Good underjaw. Lovely square outline with medium, arched neck and short back giving a square outline, moderate angulation front and rear and good depth of check and short loin. Lovely on the move with good, balanced stride. Whilst standing alone, was happy to award Best of Breed
