HORLEY & DISTRICT CANINE SOCIETY

My thanks to Horley for the invite to judge, a lovely day weather wise, and some quality dogs. My terrier group was indeed one that I think could easily have been seen as the quality we see at Championship level. The only down side of the day was the time I had to wait between judging breeds and stakes classes to then doing the groups when rings were empty and all breeds had been judged. Thanks to my very efficient steward, thanks to Sandy for her excellent secretaryship.

Irish Setter

P (1,0) 1. SEOWNS HAMISH. 7month male. Very raw, pleasing head and expression. Good bone, nice depth of rib cage. Needs to strengthen in the back end, but moves relatively soundly enough. Maturity will be his advantage. BOB BPIB.

Spaniel (Clumber)

J (2,0) 1. ELSKERWOO CLOUDY SKIES. 15month Bitch. A pleasing head, well set ears. Good bone, depth of rib and chest. Moves efficiently over the ground. Feet could be better however. 2. ELSKERWOO SILVER LINING sister to the winner, equal qualities just not as fluid on the move. Dips a little in the topline.

PG (2,1) 1. WOOLIEBOURNE NICK OF TIME AMONG ELSKERWOO. 3½ yr old bitch. Good bone and barrell, moves level and relatively effortleslly. Clear eyes and well set ears.

O (1,0) 1. VANITONIA SOME LIKE IT HOT AT WINHAMPTON. 2½ yr old bitch. Very pleasing head and eye. Good muzzle, a little bit excessive in throat for me. Good bone, good feet. Depth of chest and ribs of quality. Super mover, which got her the BOB.

Spaniel (Welsh Springer)

P (1,0) 1. TRENZALORE’S SPEARHEAD. 11month old dog. Lovely head and eye. Fair front. Needs bit more weight and muscle on him however. BPIB.

J (1,0) 1. TRENZALORE’S SPEARHEAD.

O (3,0) 1. KIDENOAN MARK TIME FOR MERREM JW. 3yr old male. Beautiful head and outline. Gorgeous body and condition. Super mover. Great depth of rib. Great back end. BOB. 2. TRENZALORE’S PRINCESS LEIA Different type to winner but still of quality. Feminine head, good flow into shoulders, depth of rib and good mover though could have better head carriage on the move. 3. JULITA RAINDANCE AT TEASELWOOD

AVNSC Terrier

O (2,1) 1. BALLYBALOE PALOMINO. Kerry Blue Bitch, good length of head, ears set well. Good bone, presented well and moves OK.

Australian Terrier

O (1,0) 1. JENINA JIVE BUNNY. 7yr old red bitch. Beautiful eye and expression. Good leather. Well set ears. True on the move. Lovely middle piece and good tail carriage. An Aussie of quality who later got Group 4. BOB.

Jack Russell Terrier

P (2,0) 1. SHIBUMI BALLERINA GIRL 11month bitch. Screams quality, super head, eye and well set ears. Good span of rib. Short loin. Carries tail well, and moves fabulously. Good bone and shown in hard condition. BPIB. 2. LASERNA'S IMAGINE DRAGONS IN COOPERLAND. 7month male. Little wilder, but beautiful all the same. Good head, good length of rib and loin. Moves well. Carries tail well.

J (2,0) 1. SHIBUMI BALLERINA GIRL . 2. TILTSER CHERRY BLOSSOM. Lovely bitch, super little head. Good ear set. Well laid shoulders and front. Good span and loin. Nice set tail that is carried well. Lovely mover.

PG (2,1) 1. COOLEELA MANGURI. 4yr old female. Beautiful head, clean expression and well set ears. Lovely span and bone. Good mover. BOB.

O (1,0). 1. COOLEELA MANGURI.

Parson Russell Terrier

J (1,0) 1. BARDRAIN’S LADY OF CHADBROOK. 12month. Lovely bitch. Typical head, eye. Good bone. Good span of rib. In good coat. Good back end and well carried tail. Moves very well.

PG (1,1). 1 Absent.

O (3,0) 1. DRAYTOGO VIENNA. Young bitch. Super head and ears. Good neck. Spans well. Good loin, good bend of stifle. Well let down hocks. Good tail carriage. Moves well. BOB. 2. CHADBROOK RISK AND REWARD INTO LEVUSHKA. Just not as clean through head as winner. Super body. Spans well. Good coat. Good stifle and hock. Good tailset and carriage. 3. CH GONETOGROUND HIGH’N MIGHTY.

Terrier Group

1. KESCOSTAFF FIRE STARTER. Bull Terrier. Brindle and White bitch. She screamed quality as she came into the ring, and took my eye. Super type, excellent mover, so true and sound. Well built and super condition. Has a relatively good bite. Could not be denied Group 1 and Puppy Group 1 today however.

2. COOLEELA MANGURI. Jack Russell Terrier.

3. PETMON ROYAL RUFFIAN. Scottish Terrier. Well built, lovely head, eyes and ears. Super mover. Good expression.

4. JENINA JIVE BUNNY. Australian Terrier.

Terrier Puppy Group

1. KESCOSTAFF FIRE STARTER. Bull Terrier.

2. COOLEELA MANGURI. Jack Russell Terrier.

3. ALANTRO SOLID STEP. Norwich Terrier. This puppy screams quality as well, and was unlucky to meet in such a strong group. This puppy is sound, has masses of breed type, and can move and cover the ground so well. This will have an exciting future I am sure.

4. ARUNMERE RHAPSODY IN RED. Border Terrier.

Terrier Reserve Best of Breed Group

1. FOXINDEAN PRESS REWIND. Smooth Fox Terrier. Beautiful outline, type and mover. Excellent head and well set ears.

2. PETMON ROYAL GIFT. Scottish Terrier.

3. EVANNASTAR COSMIC SOCIETY. Bull Terrier.

AV Terrier Veteran

1. WENDAIRE KISSED BY AN ANGEL JW ShCM ShCEx VW . 9yr old Airedale. Strength in head, good beard and ears. Lovely length of neck. Good bone, ribs and loin. Drives well round the ring.

2. OTTO THE MAVERICK PRINCE . West Highland White. Lovely head and pigmentation. Good ears and well set. Pleasing length of muzzle. Good rib and loin. Moves well.

3. CARISCO RETURN AMBER TO PETMON. Scottish Terrier.

AV Terrier Special Beginner

1. PETMON ROYAL GIFT. Scottish Terrier. 4 year old bitch. Super head and ears. Good shape, super front and rib. Good loin. Super back end. Good tail. Covers ground effortlessly and with breed typical movement.

2. EVANNASTER COSMIC SOCIETY. 2yr Bull Terrier bitch. Lovely head and expression. Good front. Shown in hard condition.

3. Obi Wan Kenobi Of Kindergarten At Seasmolt (imp Hun).

Beagle

P (1,0) 1. SIMELDAKA SLIEMA MADAME. 9month bitch. Gorgeous head and expression. Very houndy. Super rib and loin. Shown in the hardest of condition. Moves with ease. Tail is well carried.

J (1,0) 1. ALIBOR GENESIS OF HAGGATTY. Tri blanket bitch. Would like little more width on muzzle. Good bone and feet. Good body. Moves well covering ground with ease.

PG (4,2) 1. VANITONIA ENCHANTED OVER MICHELROY JW. 2yr Tri Bitch. Good head and muzzle. Good rib and loin. She moves well and carries her tail well. She is shown in firm condition. RBOB. 2. CLARISMORE CROWN PRINCE JW. All male. Good head, super body. Lovely rib and loin. Tail carries well. Just flagging a little bit on go round due to heat.

O (7,0) 1. SIMELDAKA MARFA RIDGE. 3yr Tan and White bitch of quality. Lovely head and eye. Super mover, and true hound, and well built. BOB. 2. LINKENLEES LYRIC ShCM ShCEx VW. 7yr old Tri Bitch. Excellent head and muzzle. Very houndy. Lovely rib and loin. True on the move. 3. ROSSUT VESTRY WITH MICHELROY JW.

VD (12,0) 1. J'adoremy Red Bounty Forever. Shitzu Red and White Male. Beautiful presentation, super head and well built dog. Moves well and covers ground effortlessly. 2. BELGAY KITANG PO VW.
