St Andrews, Cupar & District Canine Society Open Show 31st of May 2025 Many thanks must go to the committee for their kind invitation to judge this well run show and the exhibitors for their entries. My steward was a star keeping the ring running smoothly. Welsh Corgi (Cardigan) Post Graduate (2) 1. Mass, Scholland Forget Me Not A lovely way to start the day with this charming 6 month old puppy. A very promising young lady who is so composed for her young age. She looks balanced with very good bone and substance for age. She has a balanced feminine head and expression, good skull, lovely eye shape of nice size, correct colour and pigmentation. Strong underjaw with correct bite. Ears well set and good for size. Muscular neck of good neck leading to very good shoulder placement with correct layback and upperarm to match. Good depth of chest and spring of rib for age. Strong level topline. Very good hind angulation with strong hocks. Moved very well in profile with good drive and forward reach. BOB Very pleased to see her awarded Best Special Minor Puppy in Show 2. Mass & Aynscough, Liebhound St Trinian at Scholland The mother of the winner with many attributes. A 2 ½ year old bitch of good size, nice substance and balanced outline. Feminine head, balanced skull and okay underjaw. Not the eye or expression of the winner. Neck is muscular of good length leading to a nice shoulder placement and decent depth of chest and spring of rib. Level topline with nice hind angulation. Moved well in profile but not the drive behind of the winner. Welsh Corgi (Cardigan) Open (1,1) Welsh Corgi (Pembroke) Post Graduate (3,0) 1. Brown, Calwini’s Cherry Blossom 2 year old bitch of nice size and substance with good bone, longer in body. Feminine in outlook with a bright and intelligent expression. Head balanced, good breadth of skull and fill of foreface with a nice stop. Lovely eye of good size, placement, colour with correct pigmentation. Ears correctly set of good size. Muscular neck of good length leading to a very good shoulder placement, correct depth of chest with good spring of rib. Level strong topline, good hind angulation with strong, straight hocks. Moved well in profile with nice drive and forward reach. 2. Crichton, Cherastayne Real Quiet A promising 13 month old dog, no mistaking this boys sex. Masculine head and expression which is nicely balanced good breadth in back skull, though not the underjaw of the winner. Eye of a good shape, nicely set of good colour and correct pigmentation. Ears of a good size and well set. Lovely length of neck which was well muscled leading to a correct layback of shoulder and upperarm to match, good shaped feet. Not quite the depth of chest or spring of rib as the winner but this should come with maturity. Level topline, with good hind angulation with well let down, strong and straight hocks. Moved well in profile with good drive and forward reach. 3. Ricardo, Southerngem Islay Welsh Corgi (Pembroke) Open (1) 1. Brown, Calwini’s Valentina Rose JW A 4 year old bitch who is a good size and substance. Very feminine in outlook with such a sweet and intelligent expression. Head well balanced with good breadth of skull. Lovey eye shape and placement, correct colour and pigmentation. Ears correctly set and good size. Muscular neck of good length leading to a correct layback of shoulder and upper arm to match. Good depth of chest and spring of rib. Level topline leading to very good hind angulation with well let down strong and straight hocks. Moved very well in profile with excellent forward reach and drive from behind. I preferred her overall height to length ratio. BOB & Grp 4 Australian Shepherd Post Graduate (2) 1. Heggie, Talard It Wasn’t Me 15 mth black tri dog. All male in out look. Good for size and nicely balanced proportions with excellent substance and bone. Masculine head and expression which is nicely balanced and proportion to body. Good eye shape, nicely placed with good pigmentation. Good fill of foreface, correct stop with strong jaw. Strong muscular neck of good length, leading to decent layback of shoulder, shorter in upper arm. Good straight front with strong pasterns. Chest still needs to develop but he has plenty of time on his side. Good level topline which he held while on the move. Adequate hind angulation with good strong and straight hocks. Moved well in profile with nice drive and forward reach, a touch narrow in front, straight behind. 2. Kinnes, Talard Seein Is Believing A feminine 7mth old B/M bitch who is very promising. She is well proportioned with good substance and well balanced. Sweet head and expression which is nicely proportioned with a balanced skull. Good fill of foreface with a good stop, strong jaw and well placed eye with correct pigmentation but a touch full in shape. Nice ear set. Good muscular neck of nice length leading to a very good layback of shoulder and upper arm to match. Level topline, which she held while on the move, though she has an abundance of coat on her rear end which can give the impression she is high on the rear. Very good hind angulation with strong well let down hocks. Once settled she moved very well in profile with good drive and forward reach, straight for and aft. Australian Shepherd Open (2) 1. Heggie, Talard Welcome To The Jungle Upstanding mature 4 year old B/M dog who is all boy. Nice for size with excellent substance and bone. Masculine head and expression, which is well balanced, correct stop, strong jaw, good fill of foreface and nice eye shape with excellent pigmentation and he has a good ear set. Strong muscular neck of good length, leading to very good layback of shoulder with upper arm to match. Decent depth of chest. Level topline, very good hind angulation, with well let down strong and staright hocks. Front pasterns could be stronger. Moved very well in profile with excellent forward reach and drive from behind. Front on the narrow side, straight behind. BOB. 2. Heggie, Winstead A Brave New World Ir Jun Ch (imp Rom) Black tri male who is also all boy, lovey bone and substance, body proportions okay, though I would like him a touch longer in leg. Inquisitive masculine head and expression. Good balanced skull, strong jaw, good fill of forface, correct stop and lovely almond shaped eye and correct pigmentation. Ear set okay. Strong muscular neck of good length, okay shoulder placement. Very good depth of chest and spring of rib. Straight front legs with strong flexible pasterns. Nice hind angulation with good straight hocks. Moved in profile nicely balanced with good drive, though not the forward reach in front of the winner and a touch untidy behind. Bearded Collie Post Grduate (5,1) 1. Gibb, Debbeacol Devil In Desuise at Pirateer A young 2 year old male, nice for size, nicely balanced outline with correct substances for age. Masculine head with such a charming expression. Well balanced head with good breath of skull, level head planes with flat skull and good stop. Eye of good size, nice placement and correct pigmentation. Over all the head is well proportioned to body. Strong muscular length of neck of good length. Balanced shoulder placement, with good depth of chest and okay spring of ribs. Straight front legs with strong flexible pasterns, nice feet shape. Level topline, excellent behind angulation, well muscled with well let down short strong and straight hocks. Moved well in profile with good drive from behind and decent forward reach, straight fore and aft. 2. Ryan, Gallup’s Midas Touch into Razkal Very promising 9mth old puppy dog. Lovely for size with good bone and substance. Masculine head and expression, nicely balanced with good breadth of skull, level head planes, flat skull and good stop. Strong muscular neck of good length leading to very good layback of shoulder and upper arm to match. Still needs to develop in chest a little but will come with age. Straight front with good flexible pasterns. Level topline which he head on the move. Excellent hind angulation with well let down short, strong and straight hocks. When settled moved very well in profile with excellent drive and forward reach. Straight for and aft. 3. Handley, Strufingill Maverick at Barkenbear Bearded Collie Open (3,1) 1. Handley, Bargemon Brigadoon at Barkenbear JW SHCEX OSW Upstanding Glamorous dog in full bloom. In excellent condition of good size and very nicely proportioned and excellent substance. Masculine head and expression, with a balanced head in proportion to his body. Flat skull with level head planes, nice stop and good breadth of skull. Good eye placement and correct size. Muscular strong neck of good length, leading to a decent layback of shoulder with a very good upper arm. Straight front with strong flexible pasterns. Correct depth of chest and spring of rib. Level topline which he held on the move. Muscular hind quarters with excellent angulation and well let down short strong with straight hocks. Moved so well, with excellent forward reach and drive from behind, straight fore and aft. Good feet. BOB & Grp 2 2. Savage & Mclean, Talraz Comic Relief at Cannaich JW VW 8 year old boy in fantastic condition, nice for size and very well proportioned. Different head type to winner, not quite as broad in the back skull, though well balanced, with level head planes, flat skull and good stop. Eye well placed of good size and colour with correct pigmentation giving him a charming expression. Good muscular neck leading to a decent, balanced shoulder placement. Good depth of chest and spring of rib. Level topline which he held on the move. Excellent hind angulation with strong well let down short and straight hocks. Moved well in profile with good drive but just didn’t have the forward reach of the winner. Straight fore and aft. German Shepherd Open (1) 1. Smeaton, Lorgyle Arran 5year long haired male who is all boy. Very good for size and nicely balanced with excellent bone and substance. Masculine head and expression, skull well balanced with level head planes, good stop, good width of skull strong jaw. Almond shaped eye, correctly set of good colour and excellent pigmentation all combing to give him an intelligence gentle expression. Strong muscular neck of good length leading to an excellent layback of shoulder and upperarm to match. A touch narrow in chest, good topline. Excellent hind angulation, muscular thighs strong well let down, straight hocks. Moved well in profile with good forward reach and drive from behind. Pasterns need to strengthen. Rough Collie Post Graduate (1) 1. Barr, Roughrigg Ragnfrid 2 year old S/W bitch in very nice condition and voat. She is very good for size with correct substance. Such a feminine head and expression. She has a long refined wedge shaped head, parallel head planes, flattest of skulls, correct stop, with nice fill of fore face. Almond shaped eye, correctly set of good size and colour. Ears well set, good length of neck leading to a decent shoulder placement, good depth of chest with correct spring of rib. Good topline. Tail of okay length and well set. Good hind angulation with nice turn of stifle with well let down strong hocks. Moved nicely in profile with good drive and nice forward reach. Toed in in front. She could do with more confidence to make the most of herself as she is a very promising girl. Pastoral group 1. Shetland Sheepdog, Welford, Ristine Emerald. Quality tri colour bitch, such a beautiful outline and so well made. Good for size, correctly proportioned with excellent bone. Lovely head and expression with long blunt wedge shaped head. Almond shape eye, correctly set giving her an intelligent sweet sheltie expression. Lovely to go over with correct shoulder and excellent hind angulation. Moved so well with excellent forward reach and drive from behind, single tracked correctly. She sparkled in the group challenged and didn’t put a foot wrong to win a quality pastoral group and was delighted to see her win Best In Show later. Big well done. Pastoral Grp 2, Bearded Collie, Handley, Bargemon Brigadoon Pastoral Grp 3, Border Collie, Walker, Miraje Just Because at Ravenskirk Lovely B/W bitch, so feminine with such a lovely outline with good substance and correct bone. Very nice head and expression, good to go over with good shoulder placement and good hind angulation. Level topline which she held on the move. Moved well on profile with good drive from behind and excellent forward reach, single tracked correctly. Pastoral Grp 4, Pembroke Corgi, Brown, Calwini’s Valentina Rose. Kempton, Borderbrook Final Destiny B/W bitch very feminine in outlook. She’s is of lovely size with very good substances and nicely balanced. Sweetest of head and expression, with a well balanced head, with good level head planes and correct stop. Good fill of foreface and strong jaw. Good eye shape which is well placed of excellent colour and correct pigmentation. Ears correctly set. Muscular neck of good length leading to a balanced shoulder placement. Straight front with strong pasterns, good depth of chest and spring of ribs, level topline, good tail set of nice length. Decent hind angulation, strong and straight hocks. Moved well and nicely balanced but not quite the forward reach and drive from behind. Straight for and aft. AV Pastoral Veteran (7,2) 1. Shaw, Bramblecroft Reeba at Bluequarry Charming 7 year old S/W bitch of lovely size and substance with correct bone and a lovely outline. She is in lovely coat and condition. Sweet expression and nicely balanced head though a touch broad in back skull. Good ear set which she used well. Lovely length of neck leading to a good shoulder placement and correct depth of chest and spring of rib. Good straight front with strong flexible pasterns. Level topline, lovely sweep over loin, good hind angulation with well let down short strong and straight hocks. Moved very well in profile with good forward reach and drive from behind. 2.
