Cairn Terriers

I would like to thank the officers and committee of the Riddings & District Canine Society for the invitation to judge. A great show despite the very blustery weather! It was lovely to see that the BoB & BPiB both went on to do so well in the Groups.

Puppy (3)

1. Lucas & Torbut’s Carradine Sir Percival Nine month old red dog. Confident youngster showing with correct movement and drive. Well furnished head with well set on ears and a defined stop. Well proportioned with a level back and well set on tail. Showed well with his handler. BP

2. Firth’s Glenrood Silent Whisperer at Cairngold 11 month old wheaten bitch. Feminine head with good stop, dark eyes and well carried ears. Neck well set on with a level back and well sprung rib. Good front movement. Seemed a little distracted today on the move.

3. Thomas’s Tycadno Starburst

Junior (3,1)

1. Felters & Rumens Landbuck Amethyst 17 month brindle bitch who was overly enthusiastic at times but did settle. A showy expression on a well furnished head with correct scissor bite. Neck flowing into good lay of shoulder, a level back with strong thighs. A real character whose overall appearance was very pleasing giving a balanced appearance. BOB

2. Firth’s Cairngold Claim to Fame 14 month old brindle bitch. Pretty with a lovely expression. Skull broad, good stop and well carried ears. Profuse coat. Moved straight with well angulated hind quarters. Preferred overall proportions to 1.

Post Graduate (2)

1. Sinclair & Tothill’s Tycadno Quick Shot 2 year old cream dog. Well furnished, masculine head and good stop with scissor bite. Good depth of rib and a level back. Moved correctly.

2. Purvis’ Mosspur Moving Shadows 19 month red bitch. Feminine head with a pleasing expression, correct bite and good stop. Nice sloping. Straight movement but could do with a bit more drive from her hindquarters.

Open (4,2)

1. Lucas & Torbut’s Seveek Country Lad 4 year old grey brindle dog. Strong masculine, well furnished head and complete scissor bite. Well laid shoulders and forelegs reaching forward on the move. Level back and balanced tail. Shown in good coat.

2. Purvis’ Mosspur Time and Again 5 year old grey brindle dog. Strong stop and ears well placed. Strong loin. Moved well both ways with drive, good angulation to the hind legs.
