A huge thank you to the committee for inviting me to judge Bullmastiffs at this prestigious show. Thank you to all my entries for accepting my decisions graciously, and a big thanks also to Marion Sargent (RBOB judge) and Richard Kinsey (BIS judge) for recognizing the quality of the Bullmastiffs I put forward. I really enjoyed my day. More thanks go to my super-efficient stewards, Elisabet and Grant. The breed was represented by some lovely specimens and every dog I went over had superb temperaments. The breed is definitely in good hands.

CLASS 1 PUPPY DOG (2) 1. Myers Hyerdunscar Getting Messi with Optimus 9 month fawn boy with a clear dark eye and black mask. Dark ears neatly folded over adding to his alert attentive expression on a very pleasing head. Good stop, ample width and depth of muzzle with correct head proportions. Nostrils wide and a good mouth. Filled front having width and depth, a crested neck flowing into correct lay of shoulder, level topline and nicely developing rear. Very pleasing on the eye as so balanced. Lovely action on the move to gain BPD and RBD 2. Aston & Bowens Astonpride the Joker 8 month red boy with dark mask and ears, pleasing expression, dark eye and correct drop of lip. Fore-chest not as broad or filled as 1 but having good bone and tight feet. Deep in brisket and neat tuck up with enough angulation enabling lithe movement. A little steeper in croup than 1.

CLASS 2 JUNIOR DOG (3) 1. Popp & Myers Optimus Jameson of Penychen JW 14 month fawn boy with the darkest eyes and mask, on a very smart head, having correct breadth of skull and foreface, with alert expression assisted by his well-used ears and a wrinkled brow. Very attentive to his handler and having good conformation throughout. Lovely hard condition as he’s developing with smooth easy movement, driving from his second thigh. 2. Downs, Downs, Myers & Myers Optimus Johnnie Walker front assembly not as developed as 1 on this 14 month fawn lad. Dark neat ears and hazel eyes. Strong muscular neck and plenty of substance. Good topline and shape in the stand. Feet could be a little tighter but moved around the ring smartly. 3. Colliass Optimus Jim Beam at Oldwell (AI)

CLASS 3 POST GRADUATE DOG (1/1)

CLASS 4 LIMIT DOG (7) 1. Garratts Marchmanor Back In The Game (AI) Red 2 year old boy having well used ears presenting engaging expression on a strong square head and proportionate muzzle. Kind dark brown eyes and large nostrils on this solid boy. Good front and rear assembly keeping his topline on the move, neat feet and his muscular second thigh enabling powerful action. 2. Bighams Daisonville I’m Your Man. 3 year old, good looking dark eyed boy, with loads of expression. Filled front and straight bone presented a powerful appearance throughout, viewed from all directions. His rear end, sprung ribs and crested neck a pleasure to see. Either of these boys could change places at any time. 3. Bown & Readers Brinkybull Wilfy’s Legacy at Sundabish (AI) (Imp Aus)

CLASS 5 OPN DOG (7/3) 1. Lindleys Ch Hyerdunscar All About Keith through Optimus. Well he‘s a big solid lad that would make any poachers think twice, except that he has such a gentle temperament. This 2 year old black masked fawn has everything you could ask for in the breed. Strong yet balanced head and body, with a super muscular rear, smooth easy movement, covering the ring, and shown in the best condition. A little fidgety for his handler today but such a personality. I couldn’t deny him BD & BOB and so pleased to see him awarded RBIS. 2. Aston, Aston & Pavesi Ch. Angel’s Phoenix Ron Weasley Astonpride JW (Imp ITA) Tight feet and correct shape throughout, on this 3 year old red lad. Dark brown eyes, good stop, good ear set, broad top skull, creating a pleasing picture. Square muzzle and good mouth, impressive in the stand and on the move. 3. Myers Ch.NDL Ch. Optimus Douglas ShCEx

CLASS 6 VETERAN DOG OR BITCH (2) 1. Thomas & Bulls Ch Optimus Euphoria (B) What a darling fawn girl of 9 years, her face starting to go snowy and I could see she was enjoying every bit of attention. Nicely covered front and torso, retaining her topline with good tail set. Dark engaging eyes and face. Still very much a showgirl with amazing movement due to her excellent construction. And she not only was my BVIB but went on to achieve BVIS 2. Amors Keepersguard Ragnar’s Wrath (D) Sweet 7 year old red boy, although his front not as filled as 1 and not quite as substantial, showed well with tight feet, a pleasing shape, as well as having super energetic movement.

CLASS 7 PUPY BITCH ((6/1), 1. Lindleys Hyerdunscar Hot Gossip with Optimus. I just couldn’t take my eyes off this showy 9 months old fawn baby, standing four square, head held proud and saying ‘Look at me’. Wonderful conformation throughout and so similar, yet obviously more feminine, than her litter brother, in the puppy dog class. Her bright, dark eyes and inquisitive wrinkle, on a pretty head of correct proportions, with just the right amount length and width and depth on her dark muzzle. Allowed her teeth to be seen with no fuss and stood confidently to be gone over. Litter sister to my BPD & RBD, half-sister to my BD & BOB, a bright future I’m sure for my BPB, BPIB, RBB, and going on to be awarded RBPIS 2. Green & Leys XL Bulletproof I Am Titanium from Woodbulls Future (Imp BEL) Rich fawn 10 month girl having a dark mask good stop and neatly folded ears, just a little shorter in muzzle than 1 and not as developed yet in fore-chest. Pleasing in the stand and on the move. 3. Aston & Bowens Astonpride Poison Ivy

CLASS 8 JUNIOR BITCH (2) 1. Myers Optimus Juliette Substantial 14 month fawn girl with the darkest mask and ears, hazel eyes and typical breadth of top-skull, stop and wrinkling. Good head carriage on strong neck flowing into correct shoulders, deep brisket, sprung ribs, level top-line and powerful rear assembly. Well-turned stifle enabling super smooth energetic movement. 2. Amors Fowlerheight Zoom 14 month richer in colour fawn with dark kind eyes, balanced head, wide muzzle and nostrils and well used ears. Tight feet and straight bone, not the front of 1 but smart in the stand and moved well.

CLASS 9 POST GRADUATE BITCH (3) 1. Bighams Daisonville Philippa 2 year old fawn, half-sister to my BD. Her feminine head, ears tipped forward, producing such expression. Her strong neck and front, deep and broad, yet not overdone. So pleasing and balanced standing, with neat feet, top-line, strong second thigh, well-turned stifle and correct tail set. Great energy on the move. 2. Harris’ Lynchspride Doja Cat. Redder fawn 4 year old with brown eyes and well used ears. Not as filled in fore-chest as 1 but stood smartly and moved out well around the ring. 3. Trims Roycepride Radio Gaga

CLASS 10 LIMIT BITCH (5) 1. Thomas & Bulls Phorias Eden. Wow…. what dentition on this 3 year old black masked fawn. Super level mouth with strong white teeth. The kindest dark eyes and wide nostrils on a head defined by 2 boxes, and so feminine. Straight bone and neat feet, filled deep front and sprung ribs. As I studied her from the rear her form exuded strength and balance. Such a showgirl and mover, I think she grew 3 ins in the challenge, demanding BB, RBOB and continuing in the RBIB challenge to win BRBOBIS 2. Horton & Williams Gertlush Polished Ebony ShCEx A 3 year old brindle girl who I’ve watched since a pup. Shorter in foreface than 1 and not as filled in front, having neat feet a compact torso with correct topline, though a little steeper in croup. Her movement was energetic and true. 3. Spencers Islekeepers Rough Diamond

CLASS 11 OPEN BITCH (6/4) 1. Colliass Hyerdunscar Charmed by Oldwell. 2 year old fawn litter sister to my BD and BOB, who was worth a good look in the challenge. Head slightly domed and could have used her ears more to present a flatter skull. Good square foreface, moderate wrinkle with lots of expression. Depth, breadth, strength and quality in abundance. Well done. 2. Trims Satisfaction Dell Urbe Immortale Roycepride (Imp ITA) Pretty 2 year old red with such a feminine head. Alert expressive brown eyes and well used ears. Broad in chest, balanced standing, with pleasing rear construction. Moved with enthusiasm.

What lovely dogs!
