AV GUNDOG VETERAN DOG (12,3A)
1/ Smith, PEARKIM POKEMON AT LUANSHA JW (CS). Super class to start the day headed by this lovely o/r cocker male, totally balanced and full of breed type. Excellent headshape and gentle expression with just a bit of mischief in his eyes. Well constructed all through, strong bone, compact and cobby with substance showing plenty of depth to his chest and spring to his ribs. Strong well made hindquarters allowing him to drive round the ring showing the typical merry cocker movement. His tail never stopped and he was on top form today, delighted to award him BVIS
2/ Mason, Clubb &Findlay SH CH OROSHAZA CHUKAR VW(HV). Another top quality veteran. Lovely head and expression and overall sound construction, everything flows and he shows great balance and soundness on the move. Stands true on well boned legs and tight feet. Just looked a shade heavy today and was unlucky to meet the winner who was on top form.
3/ Miller RHUM NIGHT LEGEND SHCH VW (GS)
AV GUNDOG VETERAN BITCH ( 13,6A)
1/ MacLaine & Dickson GREYSPIRIT PURDUE SHCM SHCEX VW (Weim). A real favourite of mine, love her balance and her freedom of movement which is totally sound and she covers the ground effortlessly. Lovely head and expression, has strength and elegance all through and presented in great condition. A worthy winner of this strong class.
2/ Allan BRAIDMOUNT DREAMED A DREAM FOR GLENCARRON (IS). Gorgeous irish setter bitch, very feminine and presented in full gleaming coat. Shows balance in her angulation, well constructed front with good bone, nice topline and tailset, good bend to the stifle and nice straight hocks. Moved true and held a lovely shape in profile.
3/ Dyer BENTON SMALL TALK AMONG TYLWYTH (WSS)
CHESAPEAKE BAY RETRIEVER OPEN (3,0A)
1/ Boyles PIXIEROCK MR TUMNUS BY BLEYOS JW. Good class headed by this quality youngster. He has substance without being course, super front construction, well angulated showing a good forechest, nice straight forelegs with strong bone carried right down to his tight feet. Head shows balance with good width of skull, lovely expression. Good topline and turn of stifle, strong well angulated quarters. Good coat texture and tailset. He moved out really well covering the ground in profile and true coming and going. BOB.
2/ Murray MUIREATAI TERIS LOVE. Another nice one with many similar qualities as the winner, well constructed and sound showing good breed type. Just preferred the balance in head and more positive movement of the winner.
3/ Murray MUIREATAI MIRACLE OF DREAMS
CURLY COATED RETRIEVER (3.1A)
1/ Bain CRIMBLESCURL TIME TO TANGO AT WENICHONES JW. 2 bitches of similar age but quite different in type. Winner is well boned with good overall balance and lovely tight feet. She has a nice headshape and good coat, well angulated and enough depth to the body with good ribbing. Won here on her better movement and just a bit more feminine all through. BOB
2/ Cummings MOLOKAIN ENCHANTED ONE. Heavier set bitch and stronger all through than winner, she has a good headshape and a kind eye which I preferred, well angulated with strong hindquarters. Held her topline well at all times, correct coat and good colour. Not quite as positive on the move today.
NOVA SCOTIA DUCK TOLLNG RETRIEVER OPEN (2,0)
1/ Stait AFONBACH BALERION. Lovely dog with lots to like about him. Really well balanced with excellent front and rear angulation, well boned legs and lovely depth to his body, nice tight elbows. Good depth and spring of rib, excellent topline and good tail carriage. Moved really well, brisk and sound, shown in lovely coat and condition. BOB
2/ Stait ACADIABYRNETHE BAKERS SON. Smaller type than winner and not quite so masculine in outlook. He has a nice head but not quite the quality of winner. Enough bone, moved ok.
GOLDEN RETRIEVER PUPPY ( 6,)0
1/ McGuffie AURISTELA CLARK GABLE. BPIB . Lovely class of babies headed by this 6 month old male who impressed for his type and soundness. Well shaped head, good width to the skull and balance to muzzle with lovely kind, dark eye and pigment. Very well constructed front showing plenty of forechest, well boned forelegs down to tight feet. Well ribbed back, good angulation to hindquarters and nice straight short hocks. Moved with power round the ring.
2/ Neil MOLOKO BUSSIN. Another lovely young male of similar age to winner and showing many of the same attributes. Typical head and dark eye, great angulation and bone. Not a lot to separate these 2, winner just at the moment showing a fraction more forechest and drive from the rear but I’m sure they both have a bright future.
3/ McCormack FLYNGALEE TOPSY TURVY
GOLDEN RETRIEVER JUNIOR (4.0)
1/ Grady & Young THORNYWAIT BRING IT BACK GLENRIOCH. Class of mixed quality headed by these 2 littermates. This outgoing male has a balanced head with a lovely kind expression. Well boned and standing on tight feet. He is well angulated both ends and has a good mid piece which is well ribbed and shows good depth to his chest with short couplings. Strong topline and nice length to his leg.
2/ Purdie THORNYWAIT BRING ME LUCK. Similar type as littermate with many of the same qualities. Showing a bit more length to the body as you would expect in a bitch but still short coupled. Not quite so clean in throat as her brother and lacked a bit of his animation but a nice type scoring in topline, bone and feet.
3/ McFarlane BLUEBRAES LA DAME BLANCHE
GOLDEN RETRIEVER SPECIALA YEARLING (8,2A)
1/ Williamson PUTJADE PARTLY CLOUDY OVER SANDTI. Another class of mixed quality. This is an honest, unexaggerated bitch who is feminine and shows balance in her headshape with a kind eye and expression. Well boned with enough angulation, a fraction long in body but holds a strong topline and has lovely straight hocks. Moved soundly
2/ THORNYWAIT BRING IT BACK GLENRIOCH
GOLDEN RETRIEVER NOVICE (3.0)
1/ THORNYWAIT BRING ME LUCK
2/ Officer RIGERIN HIGH HOPES. Decent type, placed 4th in junior, who is a bit raw at present but still shows balance in outline. Still needs to come together and firm up but very much a youngster with time on their side.
3/ Pytka BLUEBRAES SASSENACH
GOLDEN RETRIEVER GRADUATE (6,4A)
1/ MacLeod BLUEBRAES BIDEY IN AT ROCAMAR. Unplaced in yearling, decent dog, nice head shape showing balance and good eye colour. Could have a bit more angulation both ends, enough bone for size, feet ok. Deep in chest and good spring of rib, lacked a bit of enthusiasm on the move but sound enough.
2/ Tait STRATHLON HERE COMES THE SUN AT MUCKHART. Squarer in outline than some, has a well shaped head although a bit throaty, enough bone and good feet, holds a good topline but tail carriage could be better.
GOLDEN RETRIEVER POST GRADUATE (3,2A)
1/ Warden HOLLINBRAE ZOOM TIME AT GLENTOCHTY. Much more workmanlike in type than most here, well balanced all through, good length of leg and ribcage and well angulated. Nice head and soft, kind expression showing biddability. Not the profuse coat of some others but a sensible amount of covering and furnishings for a working gundog. Moved out freely and accurately holding a firm level topline and correctly carried tail.
GOLDEN RETRIEVER LIMIT (7,2A)
1/ HOLLINBRAE ZOOM TIME AT GLENTOCHTY
2/ McShane RIGERIN RESPECT. Lovely type with excellent head and expression, very good front contruction, would just prefer a tad more length in leg , well ribbed back and holding a level topline, another who moved out well on a good length of stride.
3/ Lang LANERCOSTE PINK ROSES
GOLDEN RETRIEVER OPEN DOG (5,1A)
1/ McFarlane KING OF SWING QDORE OF LABGOLD TO BLUEBRAES. BOB. 2 lovely males headed this class, splitting hairs to separate them and im sure they will change places on another day. This boy is just a bit more mature than 2nd at present and it does give him just that extra bit of strength and finish through the body. He has the most lovely head with a kind, soft expression, well boned and standing on good tight feet. Very sound on the move, well made all through with no exaggeration, very clean over the neck and shoulders all enhanced by a lovely outgoing temperament and well presented coat.
2/ Law SANDTI BACK OF THE NET. Another really well constructed male who has so much to like about him. Scores on his free flowing movement and firm topline. Lovely balanced head shape and kind expression, well boned and standing on tight round feet. His best is yet to come I feel as he is a real quality youngster.
3/ NOBLEMOON TAK THE HIGH ROAD TO GLENTOCHTY
GOLDEN RETRIEVER OPEN BITCH (6,3A)
1/ Hain FHAIRMOR WEE MIDDEN AT STRATHAIN. Lovely balance in outline, really pleasing in headshape, good front construction and well boned legs, just a bit down on her pasterns. Well ribbed up with nice short couplings, well bent stifle, a shade high in tail carriage detracts slightly from the outline on the move but a very nice bitch presented in lovely coat and condition.
2/ Neil GAYTONWOOD MARTHA. Another really nice bitch with the most lovely head and appealing expression, just a shade overangulated in front and would have liked her a fraction higher on the leg. Excellent bone, held a lovely topline at all times and well carried tail. Moved out well on a good stride.
3/ Lang FENPINQUE ICE MAIDEN
LABRADOR RETRIEVER PUPPY (1,1A)
LABRADOR RETRIEVER JUNIOR (2,2A)
LABRADOR RETRIEVER POST GRADUATE (1,0)
1/ Pollock POLLHAM BRACARA. BOB. Yellow bitch, just out of junior, showing a very nice outline in profile and well balanced head shape with a kind soft expression from her lovely shaped, dark eyes. Clean over the neck and shoulder, well ribbed up and short coupled. Has correct coat and tail, lots to like about her.
LABRADOR RETRIEVER LIMIT (3,1A)
1/ Gardner REWARI BLACK EMERGER. Black bitch of a smaller stamp, just a fraction short on the leg for me but well boned and correct ribbing with short loin. Lovely expression, well placed ears. Correct coat and tail, moved soundly and had the edge in hind movement here.
2/ Farquharson RAMSAYVILLE RUSSIAN RHYTHM. Yellow bitch of good breed type with a very pleasing head shape and kind expression, lighter framed than winner and would like just a fraction more bone and a bit cleaner in throat. Moved well in profile.
LABRADOR RETRIEVER OPEN (3,1A)
1/ Gardner REWARI EMILLY. Sound black bitch with lots to like. Clean in outline with a nice headshape, showing plenty of forechest and good front construction. Well ribbed with good angulation, held a strong topline, another with correct coat and tail which was carried well.
2/ Lennox & Wilson WILENMORY OZONE FREE. Very much a male, well boned and strong all through but a fraction heavy over the neck and shoulders. Lovely masculine head and soft expression, big ribs and correct coat. Unfortunately, his movement and tail carriage let him down.
AV GUNDOG PUPPY STAKES (22)
1/ Murray & Parker SZELKIRALY’S FOOLPROOF (HV). Handsome boy, liked his clean athletic outline showing balance and he has a strong, firm mid piece. Very nice headshape and biddable expression, moved out well to take a good class.
2/ MacPherson BADCALL DREAM WEAVER(FCR). Lovely puppy showing maturity beyond her young age. Really well made front showing good forechest, typical head. Has enough bone for her size. Holds a good topline and moved very well.
