DOBERMANN

Puppy (3,0)

1st Miss M V Merchant’s KRIEGER’S MARK MIWORDS AT MANDAREUS. Well-grown 8mths bl/r male, with strong bone and good muscling for his age. Handsome head with dark eyes, excellent underjaw, clean cheeks and level planes. Long lean neck arches smoothly into a decent shoulder, upper arm has good return placing his straight legs well under and elbows close. Brisket and forechest developing well, with a tidy underline. Slightly rounded in croup at the moment but tailset is correct. Rear angles balanced to front with a good turn of stifle and straight hocks. On the move he was tidy coming towards and showed good drive from the rear once he settled into himself. Reserve Best of Breed and Best Puppy in Breed, and delighted to see him go on to PG4.

2nd Miss E Moore’s ELMORELL READY FOR IT. 7mth bl/r female of good size and substance, with a super confident attitude. Beautiful long and strong head, correctly proportioned, with excellent underjaw, neat ears and a mischievous expression from very dark eyes. Elegant neck flows into a good shoulder, equal return of upper arm but would prefer a little more length to place her legs more under, however they are parallel with elbows tight to brisket. Clean, straight topline into a compact loin, slightly steep pelvis and muscular rear quarters. A little straight in stifle at this stage but this should correct as she matures. Hocks are good and feet tight. Moved out very well in profile with an easy and balanced gait, but was wide coming towards today.

3rd Ms & Mr D Adams & Springett’s ARITAUR HENESSY.

Junior (2,1)

1st Mesdames K & SM Brannan & Mycroft’s SUPETA’S BOYS ARE BACK IN TOWN JW. Very smart and eye-catching 14mth br/r male with a super compact, substantial and shapely outline. Strong masculine wedge head with good proportions, parallel head planes, excellent underjaw and dark eyes. Neck is clean into wither and a well-laid shoulder with very good length of upper arm with enough return, with a good spring of rib, well-developed forechest and a good tuck-up. Straight, compact topline slopes slightly into a correct fall of pelvis, well-filled croup and good tailset. Rear angulations are spot on, with a well-bent stifle, strong straight hocks and super muscling, all helping him power around the ring with a balanced profile. Best of Breed and thrilled to see him take G2.

Postgraduate (2,0)

1st Mrs C & Ms J Bradbury & Sanderson’s JODASEEN STEEL CITY BLUES JW. Standard sized square 22 mths bl/r female with good substance matching her frame. Pleasing feminine head with good length, flat narrow backskull, almost parallel planes, and lovely dark eyes well-filled under. Elegant neck flows into a well-angled front and good forechest, with tight elbows to a deep brisket and straight legs; would prefer a little more foreleg. Rear is well-muscled with correct croup and tailset, pelvis a touch steep, well-bent stifle, down to strong straight hocks. Sadly she was not showing well today, roaching her topline and dropping her head on the move, which just gave the BOB and RBOB the edge over her in the challenge.

2nd Miss E Moore’s TUWOS NATIONAL HERO OF ELMORELL JW (IKC) Substantial 21mth bl/r male with strong bone and a super compact and balanced frame. Handsome and very masculine head, with parallel planes, flat skull and cheeks, and excellent underjaw, just a little too much lip. Good lean neck into a slightly steep shoulder, but good return of upper arm placing his elbows close to a brisket that just needs to drop some more as he matures. Strong straight front legs are well set under his body, down to short firm pasterns and tight feet. Excellent compact topline held firm both standing and on the move, into a well-filled croup and moderately angulated and muscular rear. Gave his skilled handler a hard time on the move, but once settled he showed a powerful gait just lacking a little reach in front.

Open (2,1)

1st Ms & Mr D Adams & Springett’s ARITAUR LAPIS LAZULI. Standard sized 3yr old bl/r female, she was carrying a little too much weight today which marred her otherwise clean outline. Head has decent length, slightly dished muzzle, with clean cheeks. Eyes are the correct shape and hue under quite a heavy brow. Good reach of neck into a clean wither and well-laid shoulder, with upper arm of almost equal length and good return placing her straight legs well under and elbows close to a deep brisket and correct forechest, standing on tight nicely arched feet. Straight topline slopes into a short loin, well-filled croup and correct tailset. Rear angles match front, although second thigh is a touch long causing her stand under herself. Moved out positively with good reach through the fore, but was a little narrow behind.
