Rhyl Canine Society

A big thank you to the committee of Rhyl Canine Society for the invitation to judge the Bearded collie classes at your 80th anniversary premier open show and thank you to the Southern Counties Bearded Collie Club for their support. Not to forget the kind and friendly stewards for your help in the ring. Thank you very much to the exhibitors for their entries, support and sportsmanship. It was much appreciated.

Puppy class: 1 entry, no absentees

1st Mrs L Dodgson, Wreckinroc Wonderland.

10 months old, slate boy with a lovely strong head, dark eyes toning with the coat, good pigment, correct shaped deep ribcage and nice length of back coming from the rib with short loin. Nice upper arm but I preferred a slightly better lay of shoulder. Went balanced and with confidence around the ring. Presented well with a lovely coat for a youngster with a nice adult coat coming through.

Junior class: 2 entries, no absentees

1st Miss H.C. Nuttall, Tumbledale Snowdrift.

10 months old girl. On the stand she has a lovely outline like she is constructed really well. Going over her didn’t disappoint. Strong but feminine head, the most gorgeous dark eyes, correct bite, nice moderate length of neck going in well laid-back shoulders. Nice long rib with correct shape and dept. Well angulated front and rear. Once she was settled on the move, she showed effortless movement with reach and drive. Nice black coat presented in good condition. I was happy to give her best puppy and I hope to see her again at other shows.

2nd Mrs N Edwards, Breaksea it’s time at Nellbrook

14 months old brown bitch in her lighter coat stage. Strong but feminine head, with a lovely typical beardie expression with eyes toning with her coat. Nice length of back coming from the rib of correct length and shape. Presented very well and in good condition, going around the ring with ease, just preferred the lay of shoulder and reach of 1.
