North Of Scotland Sheepdog Club

Breed: Bearded Collie

A big thank you to the committee of the North of Scotland Sheepdog Club for the invitation to judge the Bearded collie classes at your show, your friendly welcome and for looking after me. Also, a thank you to the Bearded Collie Club of Scotland for their supported entries, unfortunately there were quiet a few absentees. Thank you so much to all the exhibitors that came to the show, I really appreciate all those miles that you are driving to get to the show. Then of course a big thank you to the stewards for their work in the ring.

Minor Puppy class: 2 entries, no absentees

1st Miss Susan Long’s, Talraz Signs of Spring at Bearbria.

7 months old, promising dark slate boy with a lovely strong head, muzzle and dark eye. Correct shaped deep ribcage and nice length of back coming from the rib with short loin. Good bone. Nice dark puppy coat. Still very much a happy puppy in his movement but could see enough to see reach and drive.

2nd Letitia Aitken’s, Irisaddition It’s Show Time at Drumjareen

Another promising puppy, which could have easily got the first place in this class as well today. Pretty slate girl, 8 months old with a feminine head and dark eye. Nice front angulations and nice length of back coming from the rib. Her movement was balanced and effortless but, on the day, I preferred the reach and drive of 1.

Puppy Class: 3 entries, no absentees

1st Mr Robert and Mrs Selena Ballantyne’s, Potterdale Prime N’ Proper for Bustroc

Lovely 9 months old slate girl with a feminine head, dark eyes and a nice dark coat. Good front and hind angulations and length of back which gave her on the stand a very nice outline. Good mover with reach and drive. I preferred her angulations, proportions and movement to the other 2 in the class which made her best puppy. It was nice to see that later on the day she went best puppy in show.

2nd Miss Susan Long’s, Talraz Signs of Spring at Bearbria.

Strong head, strong muzzle and lovey expression, eyes toning with coat. Good front and hind angulations although I prefer a slightly better lay of shoulder. He moved with reach and drive. I was pleased to award him best dog and I’m sure he will do well in the future.
