My thanks to the officers and committee for inviting me to judge at this show. Also to my stewards who did a fantastic job over a very long day. Not forgetting those exhibitors who allowed me the honour of judging their dogs. The venue was one of the best I have attended and the ring was a very good size in a very light and airy room

2 year old red and white male in full coat. Small, dainty and compact. Well rounded ‘apple dome’ skull, Correct muzzle with definite stop. Large, dark round eyes correctly set. Neck medium length into well laid shoulders. Maintained a level back at all times. Feet small and dainty. Moved swiftly with a brisk, forceful action. BOB

7 month fawn sable male, what a little showman! Small, dainty and compact. Alert with a cheeky expression, such a happy boy. Lovely head with correct ‘apple-domed’ skull between well set large, flaring ears. Eyes large and dark and correctly set. Correctly longer than high with a level topline retained at all times. Small dainty feet. Straight forelegs and correct rear angulations. Moved swiftly with a brisk, forceful action. BOB,BP and TPG4

1st Mrs A K Brackstone – Rafmor Pure In Heart Per Picklesberry

18 month cream female. Although small and dainty would prefer a little smaller. That said she is well proportioned. Lovely head with correct ears, skull and eyes. Good overall body but tail not carried, seemed a little uncertain today. RBOB

1st Mrs J Scott – Mopseyscoton Minti Minki

7 year old male in excellent coat and condition. Lovely dark pigmentation. Ears well set and pendulous. Neck well muscled into slightly arched, tight skinned neck. Topline rising slightly with slight fall away over the croup. Tail low set, well feathered, tapering and curved. Moved with a smart, free and smooth gait. BOB

2nd Mrs J Scott – Cotonkiss Perfect Storm

8 year old male with many attributes of the 1st. Consequently it was a difficult decision but preferred the size of 1st RBOB

17 month black and tan male. Well balanced, elegant and compact. Typical wedge shaped head. Eyes relatively small and dark. Candle flamed ears, correctly set. Neck flowed into shoulders. Front straight. Well sprung ribs. Feet dainty and compact, nails jet black; two middle toes of front feet longer than others. Moved soundly with correct extended trot. RBOB

2nd Mrs K & Mr M Taylor – Wykewoks Marvellous Murphy

2 year old black and tan male of nice type. Nice head of wedge shape, ears a little soft. Neck flowing into shoulders. Straight front. Well sprung ribs. Feet dainty and compact with correct black nails. Moved well

6 year old black and tan male. Typical breed type. Lovely wedge shape head with dark, almond shaped eyes and well set candle flame ears. Well muscled neck flowing into shoulders. Front straight. Feet small and compact with black nails. Well sprung ribs. Good rear angulations. Tail correctly set. Moved with a wonderful extended trot. BOB

2nd Mrs H Johnson – Moretonia Royal Wren

3 year old black and tan female. Slighter built than 1st but nonetheless proportions are there. Many of the attributes of 1st. Moved out well

6 month blue male. Quite tall but well made, just hope he doesn’t get any taller. Elegant, graceful and quick moving. Skull long, flat and narrow. Large, bright eyes full of expression. Rose shaped ears. Neck long and gracefully arched. Fore and hind legs correct. Good length of rib. Back slightly arched over loin. Tail low set, long, fine and carried low. Lovely high stepping gait. BP

2 year old fawn female. A little unsure today but I was willing to overlook this as she is so soundly made. Skull long, flat and narrow. Large, bright eyes full of expression. Rose shaped ears. Neck long and gracefully arched. Fore and hind legs correct. Lovely high stepping gait

2nd Dr J S Thompson – Bytheiad’s Brave Lionheart

2 year old blue fawn male. Larger type than 1st. Although a nice type would prefer a little more weight.

2 year old blue male. Of good size and lovely breed attributes. Correct head on long, gracefully arched neck into long, sloping shoulders. Front legs straight and well set under shoulders. Chest deep and narrow. Good length of rib. Back slightly arched over loin. Correctly set tail, long, fine and carried low. Lovely high stepping gair. BOB

2nd Dr J S Thompson – Ophis I Got Rhythm At Bytheiad (Imp Ita)

2 year old red fawn female. She has so much to like about her but let herself down being so uncertain today. Such a shame!

21 month Blenheim female. Compact and cobby with distinctive domed head. Skull moderately large, well domed. Nose black with large, wide open nostrils. Correctly set ears which were well feathered. Correct length of neck with well laid back shoulders. Back short and level. Moved positively with drive. Feet compact, well padded and feathered. BOB and TG4

8 month red male. Well balanced, sturdy, compact, elegant and short-coupled. Although he stood alone he caught my eye immediately. Head and skull correct. Nostrils black. Dark eyes. Ears set on high and erect. Neck strong yet graceful, slightly arched. Shoulders clean, sloping with moderate angulation. Body square, back line straight, sloping towards rear. Moderate tuck up, ribs well sprung, deep rather than barelled. Feet cat like, nails dark. Tail set correct and carried high. BP, BOB and TPG1

2 year old black and tan male. Very typical of the breed. Well balanced, sturdy, compact, elegant and short-coupled. Correct head and skull with correct eyes and ears. Gaceful, slightly arched strong neck into clean, sloping shoulders. Square body with straight back line. Correct legs and angulations. Moved soundly. RBOB

6 month old red sable female of lovely type. Dainty and well balanced. Symmetrical head markings. Skull slightly rounded between the ears, muzzle finely pointed and abruptly finer than the skull. Large, mobile ears used to best advantage. Medium neck into well developed and sloping shoulders. Level topline, well sprung ribs, slightly arched belly. Tail long, well fringed, set on high and arched over the back. Abundant coat. Covered ground well. BOB, BP and TPG3

22 month red sable male. Masculine in appearance. Slightly smaller than 1st but many of the attributes of the breed. In full coat and presented well. Would prefer a better tail set. RBOB

6 month orange sable male who never took his eyes off me and dared me not to award him well. Compact, short-coupled with an intelligent expression. Head and nose giving a foxy outline. Eyes bright and dark and well set. Ears correct. Body correctly proportioned. Feet small, compact and cat like. Tail high set and carried correctly over the back. Correct double coat. Moved with buoyancy and actively. BP

2nd Miss T P Burrows – Royalkapoms Magic Onyx By Larosapearl

10 month orange sable boy. Head and nose giving a foxy outline. Compact and short coupled. Correct double coat. Ears well set, eyes bright and dark. Body well proportioned. Feet small, compact and cat like. Tail high set and carried well. Moved soundly

17 month orange sable male. Very true to standard. Compact and short-coupled with correct double coat. Head and nose gave foxy outline. Dark, bright well set eyes. Small ears well set. Feet small and cat like. Tail set high and carried over the back. Moved actively with buoyancy. RBOB

12 month orange sable bitch but with darker outer coat. Of correct size, compact and short coupled. Small ears well set. Dark, well set eyes. Feet small and cat like. Tail set high and carried over the back. Moved well. Preferred head and outline of 1st

1st Miss A Lovell – Pawsamy’s Rose JW

3 year old orange sable female with a ‘look at me attitude’. Great example of the breed. Compact, short coupled, double coated with excellent eye, ear and tail set. Wonderful foxy outline and she really defied me to ignore her. Feet small and cat like. Tail carried high over the back. Moved confidently. BOB
