Critique for Pastoral Group breeds and AV

Finnish Lapphund

Post Graduate (2) Two delightful sisters of 20 months.

1. Critchlow’s Pavoskas Iloilme. Pretty, feminine head and loverly overall proportions. Sufficient bone, correct angulation. Quality coat. Wanted to pace today – but I got to see her move out soundly.

2. Critchlow & Cooper’s Pavoskas Ilomieli. Of very similar type. Good head and expression, correct balance and proportions. Correct coat, well presented. On the move was less settled than her sibling, but again I could see enough to see her soundness.

1. Critchlow’s Ch Pavoskas Disco JW, ShCEx, OSW. Loved this 6 yo bitch – so very feminine and oozing breed type. Correct head and expression, well placed ears, lovely overall balance. Super jacket, well presented. Moved out so well and showed all the time. BOB

2. Cooper, Cooper & Critchlow’s Ch Pavolkas Aly Arttu JW, ShCM, SCEx, VW. 9 yo male who was looking fit and carrying his age very lightly. Good balance and proportions. Profuse coat, well presented. Moved steadily. A fine veteran. RBOB

Shetland Sheepdog

Puppy (9) A lovely class of puppies, although type was variable.

1. Rossiter’s Cocaro The Highlander. 11mo sable male. I particularly liked his lovely balanced outline. His correct coat was presented so well. Handsome in head with well placed ears and lovely eye shape. Moved out soundly. BPIB

2. Godber-Ford’s Lavika Like a Rock Star. 10 mo sable male. Lovely, elegant headpiece. Overall lacked the finish of 1 but was nicely balanced and very sound.

3. Waldron’s Philhope Just Precious at Frecia

Graduate (10,1)

1. Rossiter’s Molson More About Me at Cocaro. Attractive, feminine sable bitch. Really nice head with good ears. Correct coat was well presented. Overall good proportions. Moved out soundly.

2. Godber-Ford’s Lavika Like a Rock Star. Notes as before.

3. Mitchell & Fiddock’s Keycharm Cha Cha Cha at Lowenek

Open Dog (2,1)

1. Hirst’s Sundark Scaramouche. 3 yo tri male. Lovely make and shape, with elegant head and neat ears well held. Balanced in outline and very sound on the move.

Open Bitch (9, 1)

1. Hirst’s Sundark Simply a Star VW. Lovely tri. So very balanced and sound. Feminine, correct head, sufficient bone, lovely jacket. Moved out well. Wearing her years so very well. BOB

2. McShane’s Blenmerrow Ring of Roses. Nice sable with lovely head, good balance and proportions, bone and coat. Sound on the move. RBOB.

3. Hirst’s Sundark Symphony in Suede

1. Lampier’s Pencoppen My Fair Lady. At 15mo, this young lady is still a juvenile and yet to grow into herself. However, correct in overall body proportions and very sound on the move.

1. Lampier’s Pencoppen Good Timin’. Handsome male, classic collie markings. Presents a good, balanced outline and has good bone. A little strong in head, but overall a very nice example and also very sound. BOB

2. Lampier’s Taranza Voodoo. Very attractive female with super front and presenting a good, typical picture. Was a little unsettled today, but very sound on the move. RBOB.

1. Burdett-Coutts’ Ch Leon Astarte Gold Ama Me at Chrevle (imp Pol). Such a lovely male. 3 yo and in glorious jacket. Strong head with lovely eye, good ears. Correct overall balance and proportions. Moved out soundly. BOB.

Pyrenean Mountain Dog

Open (2,1)

1. Coles’ Gillandant Jasmine. Really liked this 2.5 yo bitch. Strong and of good size and very nice balance and proportions. Great pigment, super bone. Correct coat, presented to perfection. Moved well when settled. BOB.

Bearded Collie

Graduate (5) A very nice class to judge.

1. Durndell’s Megamaree Once Upon A Time at Fenacre. Slate coloured bitch of good type. Feminine, with lovely head and eye. Of good length. Excellent coat quality. Very sound on the move. RBOB

2. Webb’s Eltmaris Hip Hip Hooray. Handsome male, with strong head, good proportions, correct bone and feet. Just preferred the fluidity of the bitch on the day.

3. Carter’s Matley’s Dreamchaser Final Fling with Karmeliann (imp Can)

1. Patterson’s Eltimaris Jubilee Hoorah JW. Lovely, feminine bitch. Could hear my inner voice saying she was ‘very beardie’ – and she was! Her coat was correct and in beautiful condition – and covered a fit and well-conditioned body. Moved out with typical beardie style. A real pleasure to watch. BOB.

Welsh Corgi (Pembroke)

Open (4) A very nice class of Pembrokes.

1. Lee’s Rhiew Ravens Royal Tower with Balletcor. 7yo tri male. Sturdy and of correct length to height. Handsome in head and well proportioned. Would have liked a little more sparkle from him, but a very nice dog. BOB.

2. Creech’s Zydahayes Scarlet Tweed. Pretty red bitch of good type. Lovely topline, good bone and feet. Just preferred the movement of 1. RBOB.

3. Lee’s Balletcor Godric Grifindor for Horcrux

4. Creech’s Zydhayes Waterlily

Welsh Corgi (Cardigan)

Quality entry that I very much enjoyed judging.

Special Yearling (2)

1. Langford’s Gowerston Geriant of Caprian. Very masculine brindle-tri. Handsome head with great ears. Good body length and corresponding strong bone. Very sound on the move.

2. Lee’s Gowerston Gemstone at Amenbury. Blue merle bitch, very feminine version of her brother (1). Well proportioned, attractive head, good bone and very sound on move.

Limit (3)

1. Langford’s Gowerston Geriant of Caprian. Notes as before.

2. Langford’s Caprian Adrianna JW. Smaller, very feminine bitch of good type. Attractive head and lovely ears! Super topline which she held on the move.

1. Williams & James’ Ch Bwthyn Headliner JW, ShCM, ShCEx, VW. This masculine brindle male was a real stunner. Beautiful balance and proportions, shown in tip-top condition and moved so very soundly. BOB

2. Langford’s Caprian The Vixen JW. Another brindle and a good foil to 1 – being feminine in all aspects. Lovely head and expression, good ears and super in body. Very sound. These two made a great picture together. RBOB.

1. Jacobs-Pearce’s Arundall Mithra. 5.5 yo male. Rich red/fawn with black shading on ears. Strong head with correct half and half proportions and good large nose. Correct ‘dry’ coat over good frame. Sufficient bone and large feet. Moved very well. BOB.

Open (4,2)

1. Sweet’s Arundall Ebony. Very nice black bitch of good type. Attractive head, good neck and overall pleasing proportions. Coat of good quality. Moved out well. RBOB.

2. Jacobs-Pearce’s Salieri Heaven Knows at Arundall ShCM. Smaller and lighter all through than 1. Attractive in head. Nice overall proportions, but just would have like ‘more’ all through. Moved ok.

1. White’s Corydon Cristal Aglitter. 8 mo puppy bitch. Very pretty and feminine sable and white, with attractive head and lovely expression. Her good puppy coat was well presented. Moved well for a baby. BPIB

2. Hawkins & Flower’s Serenlas Edge of Heaven. 11 mo merle. Very pretty with the most lovely head. A little uneven on the move today.

1. Hawkins’ Serenlas Black Magic. Very showy black/tri male. Super head and ears; resplendent ruff and good overall body proportions – looked impressive on the stand. Would have like a stronger rear, but he moved ok. RBOB

1. Mills’ Samhaven Supernatural at Willowcombe. Very pretty, feminine blue merle/tri. Super head with correct eye shape/size and good ears. Well proportioned and in super, well-presented jacket. A little lazy on the move, but very sound. BOB.

1. Poulton’s Meddobe Spice Girl. 8 yo bitch. Feminine all through with good head and very good body proportions. Lovely front, good bone and feet. Moved out well. BOB

2. Biss’ Valaller Strike a Pose. Very pretty young bitch of good type. Would like a little more length to her. Moved out well. RBOB.

Post Graduate (2,1)

1. Morton-Hadley’s Kingsfrome End of an Era. 3 yo female. Dark sable with attractive black saddle. Really lovely feminine head, but with strength all through. Super fit with good muscle. Lovely strong rear. Correct outline and topline. Moved out so well. BOB.

Open (3,1)

1. Shaw’s Astradine Keepsake JW. 9 yo bitch Black and sable. Strong and fit with lovely muscle tone. Not showing her years. Topline could take a little more slope, but overall outline and balance was very good. Strong rear. Moved well. RBOB.

2. Shaw’s Astradine Kornishman JW, ShCM, VW. Handsome boy, black saddle. Had the better topline, but wouldn’t co-operate on the move today.

1. Hackney’s Of Trebons Berger Blanc Boo (imp DNK). Lovely White Swiss Shepherd bitch. Super balance and proportions. Correct in head – feminine in cast but with strength. Very nice type. Moved so soundly. BOB IR

A lot of quality in the AVNSC – and decisions were very close.

1. Harrell & Branchflower’s Beaukita’s McCrory Park. Very nice Beauceron bitch. Well made throughout. Lovely head and correct coat texture. Moved well. BAVNSC.

2. Dosson’s Leggatts Part Time Lover. 15 mo Norwegian Buhund male of good type. Correct for size, with lovely proportions. Coat of good texture. Very sound on the move.
