Windsor Gundog Society

Breed: Retriever (Flat Coated)

Kempton Park Racecourse, a lovely sunny day but a cold wind prevailed.

Retriever (Flatcoated)

Puppy (5-2) three promising youngsters

1st Durreant’s Glenturret Wet My Whistle A quality 11 1/2 m dog who is very together for his age, and at the right stage of development, took my eye with his free flowing movement, he has a good moulded head, liked his overall symmetry and balance, and flowing confirmation, his neck is well set and runs well into the back with well set shoulders and return of upper arm, nice for chest, tight round feet with well arched toes, level top line with well set tail, well made quarters, with correct bend of stifle and stands true, a lovely typical temperament. BP Really pleased to hear he went on to take 3rd best puppy in show.

2nd Young’s Gemswin Just Like Heaven at Larksburn, seven month old bitch who has good breed type, just a little loose and not as together as 1 at the moment, she has a pleasing head which is long and nicely moulded, balanced conformation, she has a well set neck and has excellent fore hand, good spring and length of rib, level top line and good tail set, nice bend of stifle, moved out nicely. 3rd Fresley & Knox’s Gemswin Angel In Blue Jeans

Junior (3-1)

1st Stevenson’s Vynesbrook Sapphirea I really liked this 12 month old bitch, she is a nice size and proportions and has that air of raciness without weediness, she has correct substance for her age, and I liked her classical modded head with a sweet expression, nice reach of neck, and when I put my hands down to the withers the shoulders are exactly where they should be and pleasingly she has good return of upper arm, and nicely fitted elbow, straight front, tight round feet, nice spring and depth of rib, strong level top line, nicely made quarters, moved well in profile and parallel when coming back. Res BOB.

2nd Bell’s Curlycrest’s Sweet Home Chicago (Imp Nor) another lovely quality youngster, I found the bitch slightly better in front, but he has tons of quality, and a very nice moulded head with correct stop and nice flat skull, set well onto strong neck, straight front, and good tight round feet, correct body for age, with a level top line, nice turn of stifle, moving out freely in profile.

Post Grad (4-1)

1st Bell’s Curlycrest’s Sweet Home Chicago (Imp Nor) He nearly didn’t come back in this class, but showed well and seemed to settle better here, he is just full of quality and I am sure will have a bright future.

2nd Lane & Lane-Ridyard’s Kulawand Cartier a very pretty bitch, with a feminine head and intelligent eye, small ears well set on, clean neck of good length running well into the back, well angulated front and rear, and good depth of ribs, and well ribbed back, level top line and good tail set, has good driving action. Not quite the sparkle today.

3rd Stevenson’s Feldkirk Rose N Roses

Open (1)

1st Bowen’s Clandrift Bring Me Sunshire JW KCWGC a mature three year old dog, who moved very well coming and going with parallel action and nice reach and drive, masculine head with a nice eye and moulded head, strong well set neck, straight front, good pasterns and round tight feet, ribs deep and well ribbed back, level top line and nice tail set, stifles well bent and hocks well let down, pleased to award him BOB.
