Coventry and Nuneaton district kennel association open show 18/5/2025. Thankyou for the invitation to judge the following breeds at your open show.Thankyou to all of the exhibitors for their entry and allowing me to assess their dogs.

Rough Collie

1st-Waltons Sassari smudge.3 years old Tri dog of good size and overall proportions. Lovely coat with good rich tan markings. Correct wedge shaped head , semi erect ears, well placed almond shaped eyes,correct bite .Lovely length of neck. Straight front with enough bone. Would have preferred better angulation in his hind quarters. Moved around the ring at a good pace.

1st-Coopers Corydon agatha cristal with Kelekona. 3 years old tri bitch of lovely size and proportions. Well maintained coat ,not too profuse,which enhanced her beautiful shape. Good head proportions, correct obliquely set almond shaped eyes, complete bite and correct semi erect ears. Muscular neck of good length into well placed shoulders. Straight front with good bone. Plenty of heart room with her well sprung deep chest. Good angles front and rear. Moved effortlessly around the ring showing her lovely reach and drive.Best of breed.

2nd-Skinners Ladnar makeithappen for Nikal. 2 years old blue merle dog. Another lovely boy of good size and proportions. Good colour to his well maintained coat, masculine wedged shaped head, correct eye and good earset, good bone for size, well angled front and rear. Good profile movement but lacked the drive of 1st placed dog. Reserve best of breed.

Shetland Sheepdog

1st-Hateleys Mohnesse the charm master. 10 months old s/w dog. What a beautiful pup of lovely breed type.Correct head shape, semi erect ears and the sweetest of expressions. Arched neck of good length into well placed shoulders, straight front with correct bone for size, good depth of chest, correct topline with the desired sweep over the loins. He is well proportioned throughout and with his lovely front and rear angles he floated around the ring. Reserve best of breed and best puppy in breed.

2nd-Moores Sanscott Ruby Tuesday. 6 months old s/w bitch. Another lovely feminine baby who was a bit hesitant to show herself to her best. Nice head with correct eyes, well placed ears and the sweetest of expressions. She is well proportioned with correct bone and good height to length. Seemed a little hesitant when moving around the ring but im sure she will become more confident with age.

1st Hateleys Mohnesee the charm master

1st- Hateleys Mohnesee Meliya JW. 2 years old tri bitch. Another beautiful example of the breed from this kennel. Quality tri of excellent breed type, so very well proportioned in size, bone and structure. Beautiful head with the sweetest expression, excellent length to neck into well angled shoulders, good topline with gentle sweep over loins and gradually sloping croup ,excellent front and rear angles.She never put a foot wrong when moving around the ring, good coming and going, excellent side profile showing her lovely reach and drive. Best of breed

2nd- Claysons Lavika’s prince Misha. 3 years old Tri dog. Masculine boy with good earset, correct bite. Good height to length ratios, correct bone for size. Not the easiest of dogs to assess on the move as he was more interested in the girls.

1st-Dr Olivers Smart as a whip danger zone at Tambuzi (imp esp) 7month old b/w dog. What a lovely attitude this young boy has , attentive to his owner but with a glimpse of naughtiness. Good for size, head developing nicely. Correct eye shape, good bite, correctly set ears. He is well proportioned for one so young. Good length of neck into well angled shoulders, straight front with correct bone, good angle to pasterns, oval feet. Good depth to chest with well sprung ribs, correct loin. Good rear angles with excellent muscle and well let down hocks. Good length of tail. He moved around the ring with lovely reach and drive, head lowered and tail down, keeping his topline covering the ground with minimum effort. Best of breed, best puppy in breed.

1st-Dr Olivers Tambuzi guess who’s back. Just short of 1 year old b/w bitch of good size and structure. Lovely head, correct oval shaped eyes and good earset giving that typical border collie expression. Lovely length of neck into well placed shoulders. Good angles front and rear with moderate bone and well muscled. Well proportioned all through, moved well coming and going, good side profile with typical border collie movement showing lovely reach and drive. I thought she would have been my BOB but when up against the young dog he was more settled on the move. Reserve best of breed.

2nd-Spurrs Dreamwork notorious. 1year old b/w bitch. Smaller in size to first placed girl, well proportioned with correct bone for size. Lovely head with good earset. Good length to neck into well placed shoulders, good angles front and rear, good height to length proportions. Moved around the ring with good reach and drive, just preferred the front of first placed girl.

1st-Dr Olivers Tambuzi guess who’s back

2nd-Spurrs Dreamwork collat’ral beauty. 7years old red merle bitch. Workman like girl with lots to like. She is well proportioned with good bone for size. Good head proportions with a lovely intelligent gentle expression. Well angled front and rear. She moved around the ring with the minimal of lift but today lacked the drive that I have seen previously.
