Yearling: (5,0)

1st Shydally Golden star over Judally. 13-month-old B/W male. This male presents a very impressive image when standing - well balanced and of pleasing proportions, with a strong masculine outline. He is well bodied for his age, showing good depth of chest and ample ribbing, giving promise of further development. Attractive spotting and a clean top line enhance his overall picture. On the move, he showed glimpses of the ground-covering stride typical of the breed but still needs to mature and settle in order to move with more consistency and freedom. However, became more settled in the challenge to win reserve best of breed.

2nd Hebmor Careless Whisper from Dakota 21-month L/W B, A very appealing young bitch who impressed with her simplicity and elegance. Feminine throughout, with clean lines and no hint of exaggeration, she presented a balanced and unspoiled outline. Lovely liver spotting and a refined head with a kind expression. She moved soundly and with purpose, but I would have liked to see her open up more on the move to fully demonstrate her free action. A quality bitch, who pushed hard for top spot, just losing out to the overall picture presented by 1st on the day.

1st: as 2nd in previous class

2nd: Hafwenna Gulping pixes. 16th month B/W male. A young male I have judged before and still find much to like. He creates a pleasing overall image on the stand, with balanced proportions and attractive markings that enhance his clean outline. His head is of good shape, with a kind expression and well-set ears. Moved soundly but lacked a little sparkle and drive on the day, which could be down to the heat. He was also carrying some dally rash which slightly detracted from the finish of an otherwise promising young dog.

Open: (4,1)

1st Sadiedel’s Arab girl JW A lovely bitch who caught my eye when she entered the ring and didn’t disappoint. She presents a simple, elegant outline, with no exaggeration- just clean lines and classical balance. Feminine and refined, with a pleasing head and expression, she stood and moved with quiet confidence. Her movement was smooth, true, and effortless covering the ground with ease and purpose. A well-marked bitch who showed consistently throughout the day, pleased to award Best of breed and later watch to take Group 3.

2nd Sophtspot Kalamity Jane with Dalticino. 6-year-old B/W. A quality bitch who truly came into her own on the move - she floated around the ring with a free, rhythmic stride that was a pleasure to watch. Well put together, with correct proportions and good markings. She presented a sound and honest picture but lacked a little animation and overall expression when standing, which again could have been down to the heat, which meant she didn’t quite match the more alert and engaging presence of the winner. Nonetheless, a lovely bitch who showed her experience and quality, particularly on the move, very well handled.
