Havanese

Class 21 – Puppy (2,1)

1st Tarff’s Newpark Masquerade at Havredemer

Beautiful young red and white parti girl, of excellent size and shape. Such a pretty head, with correct almond eyes and well placed ears with correct folds. Lovely muzzle, of equal length to her skull. Straight front legs and a good lay of shoulder and return of upper arm. Good bend of stifle, level topline with slight rise over the loin. High tailset and tail carriage, arched over her back. Moved very well, displaying her excellent temperament. Very well presented in a lovely coat. Delighted to award her Best Puppy in Breed.

Class 22 – Junior (1,0)

1st Thorne’s Bailamos Piano Man at Dyffrynsands

This stylish black and white young man caught my eye as soon as he entered the ring. So well balanced, he presents an outline that is unmistakably that of a Havanese, with his proud head carriage and tail carried in a beautiful arch over his back. His head is well proportioned and he had the best eye shape and placement of the day. Jet black almond eyes with a mischievous expression. Well placed ears with correct folds, and enough neck blending into well placed shoulders. Straight front legs and a good forechest. Level topline with a slight rise over the loin and well set tail. Beautiful coat of correct texture, profuse, yet lightweight. He excels on the move and pushed hard in the Best of Breed challenge. One to watch!

Class 23 – Post Graduate (5,1)

This was a lovely class.

1st Smith’s Elperrito Sheer Delight

I loved this black and white girl! Another who’s outline is undeniably that of a Havanese. So well proportioned, slightly longer than tall with good length of leg and excellent head and tail carriage. Beautiful head, good width to her skull, well set ears of correct size and shape with correct folds. Lovely dark almond eye. Lovely length of neck. Good lay of shoulder and return of upper arm and excellent forechest. Straight front legs. Excellent topline, firm and stable, level with slight rise of a short, strong loin. Good turn of stifle. She has the most typical movement, sound, true, lightfooted and elastic giving that unmistakable Havanese spring to her step. Shown in excellent coat quality and condition. I really loved her. Such a pity she didn’t show herself to her best advantage in the Best of Breed challenge.

2nd Young’s Newpark Alice in Wonderland

Another beautiful black and white girl, with excellent proportions. She has a beautiful head, with well placed ears with correct folds, lovely balance to her skull and muzzle and a beautiful black bevelled nose. Dark almond eyes, well placed. Lovely length of neck that flowed into well placed shoulders. Good return of upper arm and good forechest. Straight front legs. Well ribbed back with a short loin. Good bend of stifle. Well placed tail, carried in a lovely arch over her back. Moved well and true, fore and aft. Excellent coat texture and quality. A very close decision!

Class 24 – Open (10,6)

Another lovely class, full of quality.

A very handsome black and tan man, who presents a lovely picture. He has the most beautiful head, excellent width to his skull, which is equal in length to his muzzle. Lovely dark almond eye with a sweet, melting expression. Beautiful black bevelled nose. Lovely reach of neck. Excellent lay of shoulder and return of upper arm, excellent forechest and straight front legs. His topline is strong and firm, level with a slight rise over a well muscled loin. Well ribbed back. He is well muscled throughout. Good bend of stifle and well let down hocks. Moves beautifully with a lovely jaunty spring to his step. True fore and aft and presents a lovely outline in profile, holding his topline well.
