28/9/25

Thank you to the committee for inviting me to judge and to my efficient stewards. I’m also very grateful to the exhibitors for bringing their dogs and allowing me the pleasure of judging them

P. 5 (1a) Hard decision between 1 & 2 and I am sure they will change places many times. 1. Mrs T.A.Hostler Theondale High Hopes lovely 6m B standing on good feet. Head of good proportion with correct ear set and length of muzzle. Strong neck and good shoulders. Lovely depth of chest & brisket with well sprung ribs carried well back. She is balanced with a moderate sweep of stifle. Good tail set. I hope this will remain in balance as maturity develops. Moved well BP. 2. S. Pilatova Sabsky Spillbeck 6m B feminine with good head and breed type, liked her outline. Just preferred the forechest of 1 but only a baby so plenty of time for it to come. Strong in neck with good front angulation. Correct brisket, chest down to elbow and ribs carried well back. Balanced and moderate throughout, nice size. Lovely turn of stifle and with well let down hocks. Moved well once settled.

J 2(1a). Mrs M Gatt Sireva Maestro 16m M Lovely to see a dog with well-developed muscle, especially in the hindquarters, contributing to strong, driving movement. For me this is something that should be expected in this breed. Not over done good size and bone. Lovely neck into shoulders. Just enough forechest and brisket depth at this age and should continue to develop with maturity. Displaying good front angulation, level topline and slightly sloping croup. Moved well RBOB.

PG 2. Two bitches at very different stages one a veteran (7yrs) and the other 2yrs. While the veteran showed good quality in her developed forechest and depth of chest, over the youngster I felt she was a bit out of condition on the day. 1. Mrs A Mullinger Neofolian Tekapo Temptress promising youngster top height of the breed standard but not overdone. Correct proportions in head & ear set, with nice length of neck. Moderate bone and good feet. Just needs time to mature. Preferred movement over 2. S. Pilatova Sabsky Sasanka.

O 5(3a). Mrs JL Isherwood Sh Ch Gunalt Schweppes ay Caleydene JW M 3yr A well-balanced male of pleasing overall type. He presents a correct head with good proportions, well-set ears, and correct width between the eyes, contributing to a classic and masculine expression. Strong yet moderate neck of good length, flowing into a clean topline. Good bone and well-angulated both front and rear, allowing for balanced movement. Chest reaches to the elbow with adequate forechest and depth. Ribs well sprung and carried back. Moved out soundly with purpose and ease. I was happy to award him BOB. 2. Mrs A Mullinger Aladdins Genie Exhibits a good length of neck and a nicely angulated front, moved adequately on the day.
