I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the officers and committee for inviting me to judge Cairn Terriers at this show. Thank you to the exhibitors for your entries and for allowing me the opportunity to assess your dogs. And finally thank you to my very capable Stewards Kim & Trevor Lund.

Puppy Dog (3,0a)

A lovely class

1st -Dennis & Waites’s Svendalens Moon Stone

At 7 months, this young dog shows much promise. He has small, pointed ears, dark, correctly sized eye, strong muzzle and a broad skull. His front has adequate width, with a moderate length of neck, correct tail set, with strong hindquarters. Coat coming on nicely. Moved freely, maintaining his topline throughout. , BPD, BPIB, RBPIS.

2nd Sinclair’s Tycadno Starbust

Loved his alert and friendly personality. He has a well-proportioned head with enough furnishings. His front is straight, has sloping shoulders, pleasing body to height ratios. Presented in correct double coat. Moved freely.

1st Lamb & Saltmarsh’s Tycadno Shining Star around Macmoon JW

A lovely type, presenting a balanced, outline. He has a good proportioned head with a keen expression, neat ears, and dark, well-set eyes. His front is straight with good bone, shoulders are laid back, and ribs well sprung. He is short-coupled with a level topline and correct tail set. Hindquarters are strong and muscular with good bend of stifle. Shown in correct double coat, but would prefer less of it. Moved assertively. BD, RBOB.

2nd Parkin’s Mosspur Into The Shadows

Masculine and well-balanced in head, with a strong jaw, clean bite, correct dark eye, and well-set ears. He has a good length of neck leading into sloping shoulders and a straight front. Ribs are adequately sprung, with a firm, level topline. Presented in a harsh, correct coat and moved with drive.

3rd Munday’s Furythor Reluctant Villain.

Open (4,2a)

1st Munday’s Lentrica Mystic Warrior

A balanced dog throughout, with a masculine head, strong muzzle, and dark expressive eyes. He has a good length of neck leading into well-laid shoulders, correct rear angulation, a supple loin, and muscular hindquarters. Moved freely with ease.

2nd Lucas’s Seveek Country Lad

Grey brindle dog with dark, wide set eyes and small pointed ears. He displays good angulation front and rear, a medium-length body with a strong loin, muscular hindquarters, and hocks are well let down. Moved with good reach and drive. Presented in a smart jacket.

Veteran Dog or Bitch (3,1a)

1st Lund’s Cairngold Brandy Snap by Jorvikairn

A feminine bitch with a good bite and keen expression, and pleasing head in proportion to body She has a good lay of shoulder, moderate neck, level topline, and correct tail set. Moved freely with good reach and drive. BV & BVIS

2nd Lamb & Saltmarsh’s Birselaw Come Dancing with Macmoon JW ShCM ShCEx OSW

A dog with a strong muzzle and dark, expressive eyes, showing plenty of substance. He has correct width across the front, well-sprung ribs, and a moderate bend of stifle. Moved soundly with drive and purpose.

Puppy Bitch (2,0a)

1st Shannon & Storr’s Brenndarcy Dreamer

There’s much to admire in these two puppies. The first, though carrying fewer furnishings at this stage, has a pleasing expression and correct head proportions, scissor bite with neat, well-placed ears of good size. She has a moderate neck, good body length, and sufficient rib depth. Although movement was somewhat difficult to assess.

2nd Shannon & Storr’s Brenndarcy Supertramp

A promising young bitch with many of the same attributes. Head is proportioned with a lovely expression, though her ears are slightly larger than 1st, correct bite and pleasing eye set. She has a moderate neck, and correct body proportions, was alert and moved well when settled.

Junior Bitch (3,1a)

1st Petts Doonrae Ultra Violet

This cream bitch has an exquisite expression, with correct set ears and eyes set wide apart. She has a straight front, sufficient neck length, and well-laid shoulders. Her ribs are deep and well sprung, with a supple loin and strong muscular hindquarters. Presented in a quality jacket of correct texture and length. When focused, her movement is a joy to watch, confirming her overall balance, BOB,BIS

2nd Haim & Hartoppp’s Carradine Hazel Moon

10 month red bitch of pleasing type, well balanced throughout. She has a lovely feminine head with a keen, alert expression. Sloping shoulders flow into a firm topline, with a correct tail set and rear angulation. Moved with drive, maintaining her outline and showing with confidence. BPB

Post Graduate (5,2a)

1st Wright’s Brenndarcy Spellbinding for Glennmonte

This young cream bitch is compact but perfectly balanced. She has an exquisite expression, with neat, pointed ears and dark, eyes, framed with correct head furnishings. Her front is straight, topline level, and tail well set. Hindquarters are muscular with a pleasing bend of stifle. She moves freely and is presented in a quality double coat.

2nd Parkin’s Svendalens Dancing Queen

This bitch has a broad skull, pointed ears, correct bite, and eyes set wide apart. She has a good layback of shoulder, well-sprung ribs, and is strong in loin. She has good bone, substance, presented in a harsh double coat, moved out soundly.

3rd Purvis’s Mosspur Moving Shadows

Open Bitch (4,2a)

1st Shannon & Storr’s Brenndarcy Witches Promise

Well-proportioned head with correct ear carriage and a clean bite. She has pleasing front, a good spring of rib, complemented by well-muscled rear quarters. Moved soundly, holding a firm topline. Coat of good texture and quality. RBB.

2nd Purvis’s Springtime Rose at Mosspur

Dark hazel eye with a good scissor bite and neat, well-placed ears. Sufficient length of neck, well-laid shoulders, and spring of rib. Strong, muscular hindquarters enabled her to move freely and with ease.
