I would like to thank all the exhibitors for their entry. Although numerically small, I was really pleased with the quality of the dogs on display. Big thank you to Julie my steward, and a special thank you to the committee for inviting me and putting on a great show.

Class 5 Puppy Dog

1st Cox’s Fancy Pants Von Romanshof At Bulldaxit (Imp Pol)

11 months and a really quality youngster. He has a masculine head, good eye, flat skull, and enough stop. His neck is a good length, shoulders well laid and chest is broad enough at this age. On the stack he is a wonderful shape, topline strong and level, his rear is superb, well turned stifles and strong hocks. He moved really soundly, lots of reach and driving well behind. I only wished he showed more confidence when going over. He has lots of time to settle and I think he will go onto bigger things in future. BPD

Class 6 Junior Dog

1st Reid & Givens Fortonpark Senator at Mytrue

Really liked this young male. He is 16 months, has a fabulous head and eye. Going over I found him to be very pleasing, he has a wonderful front, great neck, the best of feet. Topline is level and strong, coat can make him look a little bum high, but he wasn’t. Tail set and length are ideal. On the move he was sound both ways and in profile moved very cleanly. To be critical, I would like a little more rear angulation. He was presented in fabulous condition, coat was gleaming and well handled.

2nd Ellis’s Kernow Sealion at Fitzford

17 months boy, standing taller than 1st, however slightly lighter in bone. He has a pleasing head, darkly marked, good bite, correct length of neck. Standing, he did have a tendency to turn his feet out. Topline was level and strong and he was also presented in clean condition. He moved out well enough but does need to tighten.

Class 7 Special Yearling Dog

1st Worts Meadowpark What A Dream at Glorybern JW

Classically Marked male who is maturing nicely. He has a lovely head, good bite and kind expression. On the stack he has a pleasing outline, he is well boned for his size. Going over, he could do with a little more width in chest and a bit more upper arm for me. He is well ribbed, topline flat, good length in his loin. At the rear, enough angulation, tail length and set was very good. On the move, he was sound, clean coming and going. Very well presented.

2nd Malletts Codebern Im Your Man

A good sized, solid dog who is certainly capable of a good days work. He has a great head, liked his expression. At the front he was broad, and well boned. He was a little long through the body for me and straighter at the rear than 1st. On the move he was sound coming and going, tail was carried a little too high today.

Class 8 Post Graduate Dog

1st New’s Etterbern Forever First

Medium size male, not over done. He has a pleasing head, lovely eye, and good bite. His neck is a good length, shoulders well laid, chest could be broader. I liked his body length to height ratio. At the rear he was well angulated, hocks firm, tail bang on. Today he moved well in profile, a little untidy in front coming towards. He was sympathetically handled and shown in lovely condition.

Class 9 Limit Dog

1st Jones Collansues Abracadabra

Lovely solid male who’s qualities I really appreciate. He has a wonderful masculine head, dark eye, great ears and bite. His neck is strong, front is broad and great depth of chest. He has great bone for his size. Through the body he is well ribbed, solid loin. At the rear he needs more rear angulation for me, however on the move, he moves very soundly coming and going. He stood out in the challenge and was happy to award him Res Best Dog.

2nd Bridges Krimm Bernenska Sfora At Kernow (Imp Pol)

3 year old male, slightly smaller than 1st however again this is a solid male well capable of doing a good days work. He is a lovely type, excellent bone. In profile, stands bum high which unfortunately spoilt his outline. He has a grand head, very masculine, lovely eye and expression. His neck is a good length. Through the front he is deep, elbows tight, well ribbed. He is shorter than 1 in loin. At the rear, he is strong and shapely. On the move, he was sound coming and going. Handled well.

3rd Perks Tremywyddfa Hot Gossip

3.5 year old male with a lovely head, darkly marked, nice shaped eye, good bite. He needs to settle, not sure if the change of handler makes him worse. He moved fine in profile, but coming towards was a bit soft today.

Class 10 Open Dog

1st Dybdall & Lydon’s Ch. Rodiveco King of Hearts

2 year old male, who stood out when standing in profile. He is medium size, with great bone and substance throughout. His head is masculine, yet soft in expression. He has a strong, correct length neck. Super shoulders, great depth of chest. Through the body he is deep and strong, well rounded rump. His rear is a delight. Wonderful, powerful rear quarters and strong short hocks. On the move his rear action is clean, parallel. In profile, plenty of reach and drive. Coming towards, he can move slightly wide sometimes, hence him getting RBIS to his mother. He was presented to his advantage and was immaculately turned out. Pleased to award him Best Dog & RBIS

2nd Copelands Kernow Dollar Promises at Maxjabar Schex

Nearly 4 year old and shown in lovely coat and condition. Beautifully marked and a different type to 1, he is slightly longer in body. He has a pleasing head, eyes could be tighter, good bite. Medium length neck, into well laid shoulders. For his size he has good bone, and tight feet. At the rear he is well angulated and well muscled. On the move he had really good profile movement, good reach and drive. I preferred the rear action of the winner.

Class 11 Veteran Bitch

1st Morgans Judabern Betty Blue.

Fabulous 8 year old lady, shown with a huge coat. She is very pretty in head, totally feminine, well set ears and good bite. On the stack she is stocky and shapely, and she is a good height. She was really nice to go over, plenty of width throughout and holding great condition. Once she was behaving and not pacing, she moved really well and is still sound. Pleased to award her Best Veteran In Show.

Class 12 Minor Puppy Bitch

1st Cox’s Matera’s Royal Empress

This is a wonderful 7 month baby. Sired by my Best Dog Winner, I thought she was fabulous. She is very pretty, stood like a little statue, such a good temperament and not put off by the big noisy cattle sheds. She is a joy to go over, head developing nicely, good mouth, medium length neck, well laid shoulders, well boned forelegs, chest deep and well ribbed. Her loin is a great length, firming up nicely. Her rear is well angulated, hocks are strong and true. She was so clean on the move. Great action coming and going. Really pleased to award her BPB & BPIS, I think she will have a great future, I will keep an eye out for her.

Class 13 Puppy Bitch

1st King, Green & Dedmans Arvella Busy Bee

Another promising youngster, 10 months old, lovely height and was looking a little leggy as they do at this age. I found her head to be well marked, pretty, lovely eye and expression. She has enough neck. She was broad and deep in chest, nice bone, tight feet which were well trimmed. Through the loin she is a little long at present for me. Her back end was well rounded, good tail set. She moved soundly today, clean coming and going. In profile her movement lacked the rear drive I wanted to see, hence me awarding the minor puppy winner, BPB. She was well presented and handled very well.

Class 14 Junior Bitch

1st King, Green & Dedmans Arvella Busy Bee (see puppy bitch)

2nd Marshalls Bernannan Heart and Soul

Just out of puppy, larger than winner and again going through the leggy stage. Making it look worse was her lack of coat. She needs time to fill her frame. Her head is feminine, nice ears, lovely bite. Her front is broad, pasterns need more strength. She had a fab topline, her rump was well rounded, could do with a fraction more bend of stifle. She moved well today, handler did a good job.

Class 15 Special Yearling Bitch

1st Bridges Oonelladream A Stolen Kiss at Kernow

A good size, solid bitch, 22 months. She is a lovely typey girl, darkly marked face, rich tan and very pretty. She was very relaxed and lovely to go over. She is true and deep in the front, strong forelegs, well ribbed. Her topline can appear bum heigh but its her great thick coat. She has shapely rear quarters, moved really positively today, plenty of front reach and drive from behind. Handled really well, Considered her for Res Best Bitch.

2nd Batemans Collansues Chantilly Bob at Santala

Similar age to 1st, slightly shorter in height and longer in body proportions. Looked a little raw in the class as she is lacking maturity. She has a great head, I liked her eye, ears and stop. She has a great length neck, good angles to the forehand, well ribbed. Her topline rises over the croup which makes her bum high standing. On the move this levels out, and she moved cleanly both going away and coming towards.

Class 16 Post Graduate Bitch

1st Mallet’s Rodiveco Siempre Regina (AZ3)

Very pretty darker marked bitch who is a good height and is complemented with good bone. She is very attractive in her headpiece and has a good bite and expression. In profile another exhibit to look bum high, but on closer look this was coat. Going over her, I found her to be balanced throughout, good width in fore chest, well ribbed, her loin was nice length. Her rear was well muscled, would like a touch more rear angulation. On the move she was very nice, very sound, and showed well for her handler.

2nd Love’s Gorsebern Question Mark

More compact and slightly less mature bitch than winner, 2 months younger. She was a pleasing overall shape when standing and was attentive to her handler. Going over her, I really liked her head, great expression, dark eye and good mouth. Her front has sufficient width, her body is compact and muscular, at the rear I would have liked more angulation. On the move she was light on her feet and sound. She was presented to her advantage, really clean, just preferred the bone and shape of winner.

Class 17 Limit Bitch

1st Love’s Gorsebern Question Mark- as above

Class 18 Open Bitch

1st Dybdall & Lydon’s Ch. Rodiveco Queen of Hearts

A really lovely Champion, and the Dam of the Best Dog Winner, keeping it in the family. Absolutely my type of Bernese. She is such a wonderful shape when standing. She is a nice size bitch and has beautiful bone to complement her. On closer look, she has a great shaped head, flat skull and good stop, eyes could be darker as she shows some white. Her neck is the correct length, broad and strong. Well laid shoulders and good depth of chest. Her topline is wonderful, flat, great tail set. Her rear is beautifully angulated and has short strong hocks. On the move she was very sound in both directions. In profile she has lots of reach and great drive from the rear. She was shown with an ideal coat, absolutely gleaming, and presented to best advantage. Pleased to award her Best Bitch and BIS

2nd Sutton & Davenport-Willis’s Ch Nelstephbern Dior By Design

Another really quality Champion who also is a fabulous shape when standing. Her head is broad yet very feminine, great bite and better eye than winner. She has the best of necks, well boned forelegs, neat feet. Her topline was ideal, flat, flowing into a great tail set. Her rear was very shapely, well muscled, strong hocks. She moved very soundly around the ring and coming and going away. She was presented in fabulous condition. Unfortunately, she didn’t have the spark of the winner today as she seemed a little lethargic. Pleased to award her Res Best Bitch
